The Government of Russia has approved a list of government-supported investment projects to be implemented in the Arctic zone. Six major investment projects will be implemented. The related decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Total investment in these projects will exceed RUB 200 billion.
The projects envisage creation of a mining and metallurgical plant in Murmansk region, development of the Syradasayskoye coal deposit on the Taymyr peninsula and launch of an lead-zinc ore extraction and processing company on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago (Yuzhny Island).
The list also includes a specialized deepwater mineral fertilizer hanlding terminal at the port of Murmansk, a salmon and trout breeding plant (Murmansk region) and a retooling & modernization project for Vitino port and the Belomorskaya tank farm.
