Pssst . . . English subs are up. Get it!
This was hilarious even without the subs.
I need subtitlesssss
I tried watching the Knowing Bros. episode with BTS the day the subs were available. I had to wait an extra few days because the link kept crashing with all the people streaming it.
I enjoyed every bit of the show. Too bad JK didn't get to eat but thank god Jin met cute ARMYs who saved his life lol But most of all, I loved how JK had a little counselling session with Hodong. JK said he felt like he's wearing a mask when meeting people because he wants to show his good self so that others like him. He worried because one should open his mind and be sincere to get close to others but because he's not being completely himself in front of people, he felt like he's building a wall between him and others. He said it's probably because he came to Seoul at a very young age and started working in the industry.
It reminded me so much of their song Outro:Her and the hidden skit and it just proves again they make songs from their heart. I was surprised by his honesty and braveness when being asked by Hodong about his worries. Hodong gave him an advice as a former professional 씨름 (Korean traditional wrestling) player that a 씨름 champion can't win a game with only one position. You need to adjust your position and use different tactics depending on the opponent. So there is no problem with JK behaving differently with others and it's rather his strength. As a tree changes its colour as season changes, it's natural to show his different sides.
JK seemed struck by his wise advice and genuinely felt much better. I think I saw some of the burdens he had had were lifted, looking at his smile and how his body became more relaxed instantly. Jin and Gyeonggyu made a great pair too, but I'm just emotionally caught on the conselling session between JK and Hodong. TOO MUCH FEELS :')))
EDIT: grammar, words
EDIT 2: Having a little convo with Hodong in front of the convenient store, JK also said their parents got married at a young age, which explains why his father who has two grown sons is just a year younger than Hodong. His mother is 2 years older than her husband and she "seduced" him first because he was so handsome. (I instantly thought of when JK talked about how his wife Hoseok "seduced" him with a short skirt in House of ARMY haha)
I also liked the show. I also felt bad that kook didn't get to eat, but I think that makes the show more enjoyable for viewers, especially nonfans. It's not just about BTS being gushed over that way, lol. The episode had the right mix of funny and touching!
Heh that story about jk's parents is so cute, and explains so much about why he likes older women!
Oh, man, holy shit, THAT'S WHY HE HATES NOONAS CALLING HIM OPPA.
Ikr??? EXPLAINS SO MUCH
His dad was a handsome SOB, according to the one old pic I saw.
Rock on, JK's mom. ;-) Well done.
I know there's one picture of his mom from his.. I think the first day at high school?? And she looked super cute & gorgeous! What a family tbh
Ahhhhhh! I like younger guys! Let's date JK!!! This is the best ;_; ;)
This is like the first time I ever heard him really talk abt his parents omg I'm sobbing TTATT fun fact we are both the same age and so are our parents LOL I didn't think my parents married young tho I legit thought that was the standard till this ep
I am readying myself to watch the show because the idea of them walking around asking for food is just too heavy for me. Although I know JK must have gone to eat dinner right after filming but it kinda still makes me sad.
OMG Jin sitting on the floor surrounded by ARMYs I'm dying
Edit: I'm pretty sure the host just asked one of the daughters to choose between her dad and BTS and she answered BTS without missing a beat...
When Jin was on Hello Counsellor, he told a girl that if she hugged her father, he would send her a hand kiss. The look on the father's face with how quickly she complied LOL
He face palmed so loud.
It was great because she was like "I like my dad more than my mom because my mom's scary [is the stricter parent]." And everyone thought that was kind of cute, but it was also awkward because it's like... but your mom will feel bad!! and then he asked "Do you like BTS or your dad more?" and she right out was like "Bangtan." It was funny but also lightened the mood from worrying about comparing her parents.
JK singing Spring Day adorably for the lady and changing "I miss you" to "I want to eat" was too cute.
I was pleasantly surprised that the lady knew BTS and even liked their song (although it's one song (BST) but still) and her son was a fan! His enthusiasm was shown when listing BTS songs haha
The whole family was smitten by him. I won't be surprise if one day they'll go to a BTS concert together 😂
I'm really glad that at least Jin's team won. Nothing against Jungkook!! It's just that Jin's been all about the cooking/eating shows and he got a chance to cook and eat. I'm made up for him, haha.
[And it's kind of funny for us Army to watch our Golden Maknae suffer poor luck occasionally (like in BV) since we know it's not the norm. :P ]
But JK has always had kinda poor luck in variety show The Burger Incident
That's a different kind of poor luck - that was just mean! But I see what you're saying.
One of the girls who ate with Jin posted this on twitter LOL
lmao good reflexes!
I'm starting to think we'll be able to learn Korean before this show gets subbed lol
cries in english
This is already glorious without subs, calling it now it's going to be fucking hilarious. JK was so devastated I can't
All these comments are making me so excited to watch the episode but I'm a loser who doesn't know Korean so I'm still over here fidgeting waiting for subs.
Edit: Still over here waiting for sub. Stanning BTS has made me spoiled and used to instant and constant gratification.
Also that was an interesting styling choice for Kookie. It makes him look so smol compared to his typical muscle-pig look. He also seems to have lost a lot of weight?
I've been checking every half hour...whoops
I've been refreshing more often than I did on my university results day lmao
TBH to me he always looks slim? Like yeah, he's muscle-y, but he doesn't really have that wide of a frame? He isn't super tall, either, so I guess he's just slight to me in general. Like I know he's the most Buff but he always looks smaller than say Jin, RM or Tae to me. Even Yoongi, while being smol, has quite wide shoulders so idk. The styling definitely emphasized it though & having him next to someone actually really build probably did too.
He did lose some weight pre-comeback (as they all have tbh) but yeah, people who see them irl often say that JK is smoler than you'd expect, right? And he tends to favor large, loose-fitting clothes that make him appear bulkier than he is, as opposed to the streamlined outfit he's wearing on Let's Eat Dinner Together.
Yeah. I also feel like he's lost quite a lot of weight. Even his face looks smaller now
Why do I feel slightly nervous about whether or not they managed to eat a good meal lmao
Oh you don't use twitter do you (:
I try not to use it for BTS purposes unless I'm linked directly to a tweet or thread because stan twitter is a hellhole but I actually happen to have seen the spoilers which is why I was wondering why I was nervous, lol.
Hahaha yes and I find it so entertaining, it's never a calm day over there (:
I'm excited to watch this, can't wait for the subs! Really enjoy watching this program. I'm sure bangtan did great, they're also trending 19th on naver right now, 'let's eat dinner' is trending 4th :)
ARMY PLS
i burst out laughing at this XD
Why does my baby have such shitty luck on variety shows?
He has to have a weakness.
He didn't just not get to eat; that was the first time ever they didn't get to eat with a family AND couldn't find people to eat with in a convenient store too. Record Sonyeondan indeed.
There were some photos from the general public floating around of the two of them eating cup ramen outside the store, so I don't think they literally starved thankfully!!
I never knew I was this impatient until now. Man I love you subbers so much!!
A few things I loved from this episode.
Seokjin and Jungkook have so many golden interactions in the time they were together. We also have a reason for why they have a fixation on each other's necks ... still can't totally comprehend but yes. I loved how they were paired up with MCs that brought out the best of them, Hodong is that bright, kind person that JK needs to be unrestrained and Kyungkyu is virtually a Jin stan by the end LOL. I love that in his infamous bouts of anger, he was about to hit Jungkook but Hodong is like THE FANS. The solution? Seokjin hits instead LOL. I died when JK reassured Jin that he was worldwide handsome when he got nervous.
It's sad that they failed with only 3 minutes, and Seokjin only succeeding because they were spotted from the balcony like what fucking even omg. All of them adored him so much omg, Seokjin demonstrating his cooking prowess and going viral as a result fulfills the entire variety experience. And him singing DNA to them before it had been released ahhhh, what fortune seriously. This was a great ep, but I hoped that Jungkook went out to eat afterwards ahh
Edited to add that another favourite was when Seokjin was lamenting that he wanted home cooked food, and JK was like it's been 2 years. Jin; I'm sorry, I had it three days ago. The look of betrayal as Jungkook slapped him LOL
The whole Jin missing home-cooked food was one of my favorite moments from the episode! Later the narration threw shade at Jin again, too. He kept going on about how much he enjoyed the home-cooked food, and the narrator was like: "Jin finally got home-cooked food after three WHOLE days."
Sad for Kookie who last had home-cooked for Thanksgiving 2 years ago :'(.
IT'S SUBBED Y'ALL
YESSSSSSS
Saves TF out of this post for the english subs. Thank you for your hard work!
Nooo, I was looking forward today for the sub especially after a stressful school day full of exams!
It's finally subbed! Yay! Way to make my Saturday even better :D
Any subs yet?
Not yet!
Seeing my bias starve gave me a pain i would not know it existed... Ç____Ç
Does anyone know what the fundraising music plays in the last part at 1:26:33 ??
