The Montreal Biodome (French: Biodôme de Montréal) is a facility located at Olympic Park in the Montreal neighbourhood of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve that allows visitors to walk through replicas of four ecosystems found in the Americas. The building was originally constructed for the 1976 Olympic Games as a velodrome. It hosted both track cycling and judo events. Renovations on the building began in 1989 and in 1992 the indoor nature exhibit was opened.
The Montreal Biodome is one of four facilities operated by the Montreal Nature Museum, which include the Montreal Insectarium, Montreal Botanical Garden, and Montreal Planetarium.
It is an accredited member of both the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA).

Vent, neige, poudrerie et froid extrême. Je cherche refuge à l'intérieur de la station spatiale qu'est le Biodôme de Montréal. Je cherche des vapeurs chaudes, vertes et odorantes.

Biodôme de Montréal
Montreal's futuristic Olympic Park was built when the 1976 Summer Olympic Games were held there; it still serves as a showpiece today. Designed by a French architect, Roger Tallibert, it is impressive in both size and shape, able to hold up to 80,000 spectators who now gather here for concerts

Punishment for intolerance
So, entertain us when you're still able to perform
I'm sorry to admit that I won't be around
When the world you created will collapse and drown
And drown
Collapse and drown
Back to the crypt, nothing will last
We'll all fade away, in one single blast
Out from the dust, machines arise
One second left to live and we'll open our eyes
I can't find shelter, in this world
I'm searching for another world, where I'll feel safe

"Welcome to the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden where exploring, explaining and celebrating the world of plants is our mission. Tropical and temperate gardens make us an oasis in the heart of downtown Des Moines. Whether you visit on your own or explore with a group, you will find the Botanical Garden a place where you can learn about fascinating plants, hone your gardening skills or immerse yourself in beautiful gardens."
Note from SR: This is the glass covering the DMBG's indoor botanical gardens - the previous photo captured former green house windows used as props in the new greenhouse. Having grown up around greenhouses i find the old familiar and the new interesting.
