Power was restored to parts of Lahaina and the majority of Central and South Maui by 7:30 a.m. and was restored to the majority of residents at 10:15 a.m.

Officials asked residents to conserve water since electrical pumps are relied on for well pumps, water treatment and distribution.

Conservation consists of refraining from washing cars and watering lawns, as well as hosing down areas of yards.

The Maui County Service Center’s internet and phone are down. The DMV asked customers to reschedule appointments or wait until services are back online. The Lahaina satellite office is closed today and the Pukalani office will be closed until power is restored.
