Using Art Effectively with the Most Visual Approach to A&P
Visual Anatomy & Physiology combines a one-of-a-kind visual approach with a modular organization that uniquely meets the needs of today’s students―without sacrificing the comprehensive coverage of A&P topics required for careers in nursing and other allied health professions.
The 3rd Edition presents key new features based on recent research about how information is used and digested. New modules in the first chapter emphasize how to use art effectively when studying; new Integrated Figure Questions increases the likelihood you will spend time viewing the art and prompts you to consider what you have just learned; and new SmartArt Videos, accessible via QR code in the book, help in navigating key, complex pieces of art on some of the toughest topics.
New Interactive Physiology 2.0 tutorials, SmartArt Video Activities, and a mobile-friendly eText expand the options for students to use Mastering ™ A&P as an effective practice and learning tool.
Also available with Mastering A&P
Mastering™ A&P is an online homework, tutorial, and assessment program designed to engage students and improve results. Instructors ensure that students arrive ready to learn by assigning educationally effective content before class, and encourage critical thinking and retention with in-class resources such as Learning Catalytics™. Students can further master concepts after class through assignments that provide hints and answer-specific feedback. With a wide range of activities available, students can actively learn, understand, and retain even the most difficult concepts.

About the authors
I received my Ph.D. from Cornell University in comparative and functional anatomy for work on the pathophysiology of stress. In addition to professional publications that include journal articles and contributed chapters, technical reports, and magazine articles, I am the lead author of ten undergraduate textbooks, two Atlases, and five clinical manuals in the fields of anatomy and physiology or anatomy. I have also published a book for amateur naturalists and my most recent effort is a nonfiction work based on declassified WWII and post-war documents held in the archives of the US and other countries.
I am currently affiliated with the University of Hawaii at Manoa, after retiring from teaching at the Maui campus. I have a long-standing bond with the Shoals Marine Laboratory, a joint venture between Cornell University and the University of New Hampshire.
I have been active in the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) for over 24 years and was a member of the committee that established the course curriculum guidelines for undergraduate anatomy and physiology. I have been a member of the Authors Guild since 1994 and a member of the Textbook Authors Association since 1990.
Authoring and teaching are both vocations and avocations for Judi Nath. As a best-selling textbook author and an award-winning biology professor, her career spans decades. She writes several anatomy & physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pathophysiology books, ranging from 1st to 12th editions. Dr. Judi aims to help students and the general population understand the science around us and about us in ways that are captivating. A self-described humanist, her classrooms are welcoming while her outreach messages are inviting. Her blog and newsletter titled "Science and Society" are straightforward scientific explanations linking current headlines to individual health, calming the chaos with humor, and showing our shared humanity. Professional life is almost balanced with a host of aspirational hobbies like piano playing, tap dancing, and bicycling. She has mastered none.
Judi lives with her husband, Mike, and their dogs, Greta and BoBo.

Super, super grateful for this having been a more affordable option available to me! Thank youuuuu (':
Rental extension process for second semester is non existent - needing to mail it back and re-rent another one the same day, hoping they still have one available for spring semester - but I guess it’s better than buying these ridiculously jacked up prices the industry(not Amazon) puts on school books, did they discover anything new in the human body not covered in the previous edition....
