Prince Harry’s two unexpected family members who did attend daughter Princess Lilibet’s baptism

King Charles may have snubbed the invite, but other close members of the family were in attendance.

King Charles and Prince William haven't attended the christening of Harry and Meghan's daughter Lilibet

The newest princess Lilibet of Sussex celebrated her christening at her home in Montecito, California last week, surrounded by friends and her mother, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s family.

However, her grandfather and step-grandmother, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, along with her uncle and aunt, Prince William and Princess Kate, did not make the trip.

While these close relatives did not attend Prince Harry and Meghan’s daughter’s big day, other close members of his family were there.

However they were from his mother’s side.

The older sisters of the late Princess Diana, Lady Jane Fellowes, 66, and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, 67, were among the guests, Marie Claire reports.

The last time Harry saw his aunts is unknown, however he was known to have a close bond with them, along with his uncle Earl Spencer.

The Spencer siblings were last seen with their nephews William and Harry in 2021, when they unveiled a statue in Kensington Palace that honours Princess Diana.

Along with Harry’s aunts, other guests at the christening included Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry.

The celebration was an afternoon of food and dancing, with the newest prince and princess enjoying a dance together.

As part of the ceremony, there was a 10-person gospel choir performing songs including Oh Happy Day and This Little Light of Mine.

The proud parents confirmed the christening with a brief statement, notably using Lilibet’s new princess title for the first time.

“I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor,” a statement said.

The palace has officially confirmed the new titles of Lilibet, 1, and her older brother Archie, 3, now known as Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.

In a follow-up statement from the Sussexes, they said as grandchildren of King Charles, it was their “birthright” to use the new titles.

The palace quietly confirmed the change, updating the names of both children on their website.

Under the succession list, the young prince and princess can be seen sitting sixth and seventh in line for the throne, behind their father.

They are entitled to the titles under the usual protocol as a male-line grandchild of the monarch.

When Archie and Lilibet were born in May 2019 and June 2021, their great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, was still on the throne.

But when their grandfather, Charles, became monarch, they became entitled to be known as prince and princess.

Despite their right to the titles following the death of Elizabeth, it was unknown publicly if Harry and Meghan wanted the them.

In January 2020 they stepped back as senior working royals, moving to the US to live a quieter life.
