I’ve always enjoyed the experience and food at La Cocina International. However, I have never been for breakfast.. It’s no surprise they did an exceptional job. The prices for breakfast are also extremely reasonable for the quality of the dish. Anyone visiting St. Augustine should...definitely have it on their list of restaurants to visit.More

My husband and I made reservations here for my birthday dinner while we were staying in the area. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is very classy. I had read that the lobster bisque was good so I started my meal with that. It was...creamy and delicious, just a little too salty for my taste. The garnish seemed to be roasted pieces of grass, decorative, but not very edible. My main course was the rack of lamb. The gravy/reduction was very tasty with hints of mint (a must for lamb). My husband decided to stick with salad and appetizers. His Asian pear salad with blue cheese crumbles and vinaigrette dressing was proclaimed one of the best salads he had ever enjoyed. Next was the baked Brie, served in a puffed pastry with a cranberry sauce garnish and toast crisps. Absolutely delicious, and so big it could have served four people as an appetizer. We actually took some of this home. The escargot in a chipotle butter were very tender and tasty and finally the mussels were served in a mildly spicy sauce that was nicely sopped up with bread. My husband declared it was one of the best meals he has ever had.More

We are a Polish couple that lives in the West coast of Florida. We decided to have our anniversary dinner at La Covina International. Excellent choice - we started with a lobster bisque and bake Brie that were fantastic and beautifully presented, we shared the...rack of lamb entree- Delicious !! The cherry on top was that when we bragged that it was our anniversary, our server George and a lovely petit server brought us a surprise complimentary dessert- and to our surprise the anniversary sentiments were written in Polish. That extra effort brought tears to our eyes. Our compliments to the chef and Service staff. Thank you so much for your romantic and appetizing restaurant, we will definitely be back soon !!More

We’ve lived in St Augustine for 15 years and this was our first visit. A friend has his 60th birthday party and the restaurant did a great job setting up the tables far enough apart and all the servers wore masks . My wife and...one other person at the table had crabbed stuffed grouper which both smelled fishy and uneditable. I ordered the Uso bucco and I asked if it was falling off the bone which I was told yes. It had no flavor and was not soft and falling off the bone. It needed another 60 minutes in the oven. I had 3 bites and left the rest. The server did ask if we wanted something else which was nice but no manager came over and the prices aren’t inexpensive.More

Charming smaller restaurant, excellent service, white table cloths, nice decor. Imaginative dinner menu not overpriced. Beer and wine only. Breakfast was delicious with excellent wild blueberry crepes, and just about anything you could want. Closed Mon/Tues. Not open for lunch.

So glad a friend recommended this place because I don't know if we would have found it on our own. Our waiter was wonderful and helpful, and the food was absolutely amazing. We were a party of three and ordered appetizers and mains (no room...for dessert) and everyone was thrilled with their choices. Husband ordered the filet mignon medium well and that is exactly how it was cooked - and the chef didn't have to butterfly it. Perfection! The portions are generous, presentation was appealing and the taste was superb. We will definitely return the next time we're in town. Many thanks for a wonderful meal.More

My teenage sons and the hubs were driving around after exploring and were hungry. Every place had a very long wait. We called La Cocina to find out wait time and they had no availability. Shortly after, we received a call back indicating that they...had a last minute cancellation. We rushed to the restaurant and from that moment on had a wonderful evening. The boys ordered octopus and escargots for appetizers and both were very good. The wine, the entrees and the desert were all tasty and very well prepared/presented. The service was spectacular. Since we rushed over the boys were not dressed resort casual….but all that was overlooked and everyone was professional, accommodating and fantastic! Thank you to all at La Cocina for calling us back and giving us a wonderful family dinner!!! Hubs already wants to go back.More

We came here for a week of dinners out celebrating our 10th anniversary. It’s location in a hotel was unusual. It’s near the beach, not on it. Only one other table on a Sunday night but we had a reservation. We had lobster bisque-great. Entrees...were fish of day and Pasta Vodka sauce. The pasta was Great- we took home part of it and raves about it. Get it for sure. The fish tasted very strong so we told the server. She was quick to offer a sub and we got the chicken which was great. We split a dessert. We will return.More

Excellent food with Spanish flare. The food and service were excellent. They serve only wine and beer, no hard liquor, but the selection of wines makes up for it. Very large portions, including appetizers. The food is very fresh and full of flavor. Our server,...Katya, was very knowledgeable and kind. Will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone!More

Dinner for 4, we all had a variety of choices, High points, the Octopus was fantastic, the tenderloin was prepared very nicely , Ravioli was delicious . Service was 1st rate. Where they could improve, Charcuterie board was not inspiring, needs improving, and the wine...choices are meager ( but bring your own and pay the $15.00 corkage fee... worth it). Yet all in all , the pace was nice and relaxed ( hard to find these days), as mentioned service was very good and personable.and other than the Charcuterie board ( ok but lacking) all was top notch. and if you've read my other reviews, 5 stars is not easily forthcoming.More

Did a weekend with dinner and breakfast. We always go for the eggs Benedict. The best on the island. Breakfast with real table cloths! Dinner is always good. The wine selection is very good and reasonably priced. We found we need to make dinner reservations...further in the future as they are often booked. Good for them.More

This restaurant locate inside a hotel, definitely a hidden treasure. Truly one the most delicious meal I had in St. Augustines. The chef is French, and the dishes has Asian twist on top of the magnificent French style, menu come with wine pairing recommendations. Our...lobster bisque, pear salad, lobster starter all delicious; my main course is Seafood (stew?) with scallops/clams/shrimp/squid in a mild sweet sauce, I took the recommended pino noir red vine, surprisingly delicious combination! Highly recommend to people loved gourmet meals.More

We walked to this restaurant from our hotel, not realizing it was kind of upscale. We felt underdressed although they didn’t make us feel that way. As our meal progressed, more people came in dressed casual like us. The food is expensive, but it was...well prepared and the portions were huge. We both had shrimp pasta. They serve hot bread before the meal and it was delicious. We left very full.More

This was our second visit to La Cocina and we enjoyed it as much as our first visit. I've ordered the lovely house salad with the braised beef short rib ravioli both times. The salad is fresh and served with a light citrus dressing and...the short rib ravioli is tender with a decadent depth of rich flavor. Complementing the ravioli was spinach and zucchini. When we go again, I'll probably order it again! Fortunately, my husband orders something different every time. This time he had the rack of lamb. Yum! Prepared correctly! To end our meal, we shared a flan diplomatique, which is not your typical flan in texture but certainly typical in flavor. Exquisite! Unfortunately, they aren't open for breakfast or lunch now (hope that isn't a harbinger of bad news). We'll go back not only for the quality food but because they take many precautions during this time of Covid: masks, temperature check, sanitizer, spaced seating, etc. Really a top notch dining experience.More
