22 (More) Tall Korean Actors and Why Their Height is Super Attractive

When it comes to catching our eye, it’s no secret that tall is a “type” most women easily fall for. If you Google “Does height matter?” you will find endless articles and discussions about why some women seem to consider this physical attribute more than others.

In our first article covering why height is a big deal in South Korea, we talked about how “tallness is considered a social advantage” and “a good marker of better educational attainment and higher income” in society. This time, we’ve decided to delve deeper into the science of what makes height so attractive. 

The Conversation highlights that “some research in evolutionary psychology and sociobiology explains this ‘height premium’ as an evolutionary advantage.” In an interview with Bustle, neuroscientist Bobbi Banks shares that “Evolutionary speaking, it makes sense that women prefer tall men as they may come across as stronger and better at protecting their family.” Also cited in the piece is Psychology Today, which reveals a deeply ingrained belief that “taller equals stronger and better able to ward off physical threats.” We may not know it, but the preference for height is not as surface level as it seems to be.

With our favorite Korean actors, it seems tall is the norm for a majority of them—proven by these heartthrobs who stand at least 5’10 in height. It’s easy for the screen to play tricks on us, making it appear like they’re of “average” height. But that’s considering the standard in height of males in South Korea is 5’9!

Of course, this isn’t to say men of average or below-average height aren’t attractive. It’s all a matter of preference, after all. No matter your stance on long legs and torsos or towering heights in general, there’s no denying how these men make us do a double-take once we realize how tall they actually are in real life!
