- Keith LTaunton, United Kingdom213 contributionsLarge site with plenty to doIt is easy to spend several days here enjoying the activities and sit. Plenty for all ages. Food and drink outlets are scattered around and provide and expensive break from the beach, pools or water. The water slides come in varying degrees of scariness with the River Rapids relatively quiet and without a any of the long queues. The route is lengthy and you probably will want to do several times.Visited July 2023Written August 8, 2023
- rica0New York City, New York26 contributionsChill vibes, well staffed, fun times.Loved it. It's expensive, the food was like $58.00 for one rum drink, fish sandwich and nachos. Paid for a locker rental and one online photo, ( too expensive). The staff is nice, helpful and are local, not snobbish one bit. The kiddie pool and play area, were well appointed. Staff is all around and they are hands on and attentive. Wish I had more time to spend, but we had to return to our cruise. Construction by part of the casino, but we didn't use it. I wish they had paper map print out, as the app download was slow. Lazy river was amazing, and also the slde with the sharks. There were long lines for the slides but it wasn't terrible. Can't wait to return to try the beach and the other areas. The place was fun and had many various kid pools, what an adventure.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten September 3, 2023
- golfer_dinerEmporia, Kansas287 contributionsExpansive property with multiple water adventures and experiencesThis area has a multitude of slides , pools, and a very nice children's water play area. Beach chairs and towels are easily obtained. It does have a river rapids ride--don't be fooled, it is not a lazy river. In addition, it has a lagoon with a protected beach.Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten September 11, 2023
- acalderaro67 contributionsAquaventure at the Atlantis is great for the kidsWater park was fun and kept the kids entertained for the four days we were in the Bahamas. I liked the slide through the shark tank the best but all of the rapids and slides were fun at the top of both temples and the views were great. Rapids were a little slow in spots but overall really fun for the kids.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 11, 2023
- Smully63Bordon, United Kingdom122 contributionsGreat funWhat a great fun park. Leap of faith and abyss are pure confidence tests but only last 6 seconds and 12 seconds respectively. Rapids river is a few rapids but mostly a lazy river. We went in the big pool by the reef and cove hotels and pretty much had it to ourselves. The lockers are purely for day visitors not really for hotel guests, at $20 a pop, maybe walk back to your room. First time in a water park in 15 years, great fun!Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 11, 2023

We spent 4 days here right before Christmas. Our biggest complaint was that the park ran out of towels on 2 of the 4 days. Get some towels early in the day and stuff them in your locker so you will have a dry towel at the end of the day. We had fun but they basically only have 8 water slides. Some of these slides got shut down for part of our visit. Sometimes they were closed because they had mechanical problems sometimes it was because they just didn’t seem to want to staff the slide. The rapids rive is fun but every day we were there we saw someone getting medical attention because of a river mishap. It is worth going out on the grounds at night after the park has closed—it has a totally different vibe. At night it is quiet and peaceful and the pools and fountains are beautifully illuminated. At night there are only a few other people out but it feels very safe. Nightime is also a great time to check out the aquariums (the Dig and the Predator Tunnel) both above ground and indoors.

My 8 year old and I spent six nights at The Royal Atlantis and spent time at Aquaventure every day. We had fun, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype. Only a few slides were open during our stay which, unfortunately, were mostly the ones that were a bit too intense for my daughter. The Jungle Slide never opened our entire stay. Challenger opened for a few hours just one day. The Drop and the Falls tube slides never opened. Unfortunately this pushed all the guests into just a few lines, creating excessive queues. Judging by how difficult it was to find an empty lounge chair, it seems like Atlantis is operating at full capacity, which means there really isn’t any excuse to not have all the attractions open. We did enjoy Rapids River and the Splashers area is great for younger kids who don’t meet the minimum height (48”) required for the bigger slides. Bring your own snacks and drinks, if you can. There are plenty of food options at the park, but they are pricy. You’ll also pay 12% VAT and 15% gratuity on everything- even the soft drinks which you fill up yourself.

We have owned a timeshare at Harborside for 17 years now. We've been to Atlantis at least 20 times. I find it ridiculously expensive (worse than Disney prices), crowded (they let in cruise ship passengers by the thousands and it's tough to get a lounge chair and very long lines) and the employees are minimally friendly, but certainly not helpful. Lifeguards are sometimes sleeping behind their sunglasses, but at the very least they certainly aren't going to jump in and help. When my daughter was only three she tipped on her tube in the roaring river and the lifeguard just watched us. She had a lifejacket on and I had ahold of her so she wasn't drowning, but no help there.
Now, we keep going back there because there was always something age-appropriate for the kids to do as they grew up. The stingrays and fish feedings when they were little and as teens, they do like the slides. Over the last 15 plus years, we've learned lots and lots of tricks to make it more affordable and enjoyable.
This is my son's senior year in high school and we're taking three of his friends with us this year. We couldn't do that if we didn't have the condo. So we have a love/hate relationship with Atlantis. It's worth going to see it, but you will likely walk away thinking it was expensive, crowded and the employees couldn't care less if you're there or not.
The best way to make it affordable for a family is to rent a timeshare condo at Harborside on redweek.com. You should be able to pick up a one-bedroom condo with a full kitchen and livingroom that can sleep 4 in high season for under $2,000, which is significantly less than booking directly through the website or other online sites. Then you stop at the grocery store and get the bulk of your food and drinks (especially beer and alcohol) so you don't have to buy the insanely priced meals. That's the only real way to make it affordable for a typical family and feel like you're not being abused financially.

My wife and I went visited Atlantis Aquaventure on May 8th, 2022. The Atlantis employee at the counter told me that the fee was $380 ($190 each person). I gave her my VISA card. A few minutes later the employee told me that the Visa charge did not go through and asked me if I had a different credit card. This was odd because my Visa card never had a problem before. I then gave her my American Express card. The Atlantis employee then told me that the American express charge went through. The next day, I checked my credit cards and learned that I was double billed for that same $380 entrance fee on both my Visa and my American Express. I called Atlantis and then emailed them the American Express receipt and the details of my multiple entrance charges, minutes apart the same day, with no response from Atlantis. They are ghosting me, not returning my emails or telephone messages.
As a side note, I stayed in the Atlantis resort hotel a couple of years ago, and on that trip, the credit card that I used only at Atlantis was compromised and used all over the Caribbean. Because of that bad experience, I tried to pay with cash on May 8th but was told that Atlantis doesn't accept cash. I will eventually get the money refunded by my credit card company, but that is a hassle and isn't quick. The "Adventure" at Atlantis is trying to protect your credit card.

We visited with a 5 and 3 year old over New Years, so had access to the park as hotel guests. This was the best part of our stay! Most days the pools and rivers were not too crowded for young kids—Jan 1 was the real exception. Plenty of pools and space for this kids to play, very clean and courteous life guards. We really enjoyed it and were able to relax while the boys played. Food is extremely expensive, so bring your own snacks if you can especially with little ones.

We visited Aquaventure on a Monday. We were staying at the Melia and bought day passes which were pretty expensive but we thought it was a must do kind of activity. There were only a couple cruise ships in port and the water park was extremely quiet which was amazing. The unfortunate part was due to a recent injury I was only about to do slides in inner tubes and the day we went all inner tube rides from the tower plus the rapid river were all completely down. We were quite upset after waiting around all day while they were saying it should be fixed later. We spoke with a couple who goes regularly and they let us know that Atlantis has great customer service so to speak to them about half the water park being closed and see what they could do. We did this and they let us choose another day to come back free of charge which was fantastic! It sucked to have to pay for taxis and lockers a second day, plus lose extra time at our own resort, but after coming back the second day we were very happy we did it as the rapid river was hands down our favorite part. Luckily, this day there were also only a couple cruise ships in port and Atlantis was again completely dead with no lines. Is it worth the crazy cost? Probably not, but it was a fun thing to see and experience once. The aquariums are cool as well. I think everything could use some upgrading if it is going to continue competing with baha mar, especially now that baha mar is building its own water park. I would definitely not want to stay at the Atlantis hotels, but visiting for a day or half day is nice.

Beautiful, luscious landscaping, grounds, and pools. A lot of food options and places to set up your lounge chairs. The 8 slides are super fun and never get old after a week straight of riding them. The not-so-lazy river is easily the best part of the park.
If you're here during a crowded time (we were there for Christmas/New Years) you have to arrive at the waterpark at like 8:30 and reserve good seats with towels. The lines for the slides get really long (thanks to all the cruise guests who flood the park) so it's best to line up right before they open at 10am and then also ride a bunch from 4-5 pm before close as the lines get much shorter then. We wanted to book preferred seating or a cabana, but by Dec 26th these were all booked through the last day we were there, Jan 2. So book those things in advance if you are there during a busy time.
Another random tip: the soda cups are all refillable there, which is a nice perk considering the crazy prices for all food/drink at Atlantis

Every restaurant we went to the waiters completely ignored us we are a gay mixed race couple however the other straight hetrosexual Caucasian people got first rate service. He gave us a look when we said we were paying together. We begged for waters and the waiters look at us and ignored us completely while bring them out to other people constantly checking in on everyone else we felt invisible. This place is full of bigots any minority or LGBT person should avoid you will feel invisible

I would highly recommend reserving a cabana for your family stay at the Atlantis waterpark.
We feel the best were the private cabanas at the Current location. You have a private swim location right on the rapids river and very close to the power tower for the kids. Excellent service. We also stayed at the Mayan Temple cabanas which was in a busier area by the main pool at the Mayan temple and again excellent service. The Riverbend cabanas are nice as well but there is a small wall in front of you that blocks a view of the rapids river and is a longer walk to the waterslides. However at each location the service was excellent. You have lounges at each site with a refrigerator, electrical outlets for phone chargers, a fan and a safe to lock valuables.

Looking for a thrilling, unforgettable water park experience? Look no further than Aquadventure at the Atlantis Hotel in Nassau! Sure, the bathroom may be questionable at best and the water may be frigid, but who needs beach chairs when you can stand in line for an hour just to buy a hot dog? And the 1 hour wait to get into the park? Pure luxury. And if you're worried about getting sunburnt, fear not - there's not a single inch of shade to be found on the entire beach. But the real highlight of the park is the water slide - a full 20-45 minutes of waiting for a grand total of 1 second of excitement. All this for the low, low price of $200 for adults and $100 for children. But hey, at least the place is pretty. Too bad there's so many people that you can't actually do anything. Maybe they should consider limiting the number of visitors, specially when 6 cruises arrive at the same time...just a thought.

I am going on a cruise and would like to visit Atlantis. However, we don't want to do the day pass. Would there be anything accessible to us if we were to avoid the day pass? I've heard that we can have access to the shops, the casino, and the beach but the information I got was from over a year ago so just wanted to get an updated response to the things we have access to without the day pass.

How far ahead of ship departure do you recommend heading for a taxi?
Are they readily available and do you find them in the same place they dropped you in the morning?
Did they give you a towel with your prepaid day pass purchased directly from Atlantis (my instructions say to bring a towel)?
Any other tips are appreciated.

Sorry for multiple questions but don’t see a FAQ page for Aquaventure!! To confirm, the rides and pools close at 5pm? Can you still relax on the beaches after 5pm? Go into the casino? Are there any shower/changing areas if you want to have dinner at the resort? Are there refillable water bottle stations? Can you bring your own food/snacks/drinks? Any lockers to secure your belongings? How much do they cost?
Thank you!
