Katherine Schwarzenegger gives birth, welcomes first child with Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger have welcomed the newest little “Guardian of The Galaxy.”

On Monday, Pratt confirmed Schwarzenegger had given birth to a baby girl, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt.

“We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt,” the Marvel star posted on Instagram. “We couldn’t be happier. Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed. Love Katherine and Chris.”

Prior to Pratt’s post, Katherine’s brother Patrick Schwarzenegger said mom and baby are “doing great,” in a video shared by “Entertainment Tonight” on Sunday.

“They’re doing great, just got her a little gift,” Patrick, 26, said while holding a box with a pink ribbon.

Pratt, 41, and Katherine, 30, tied the knot in June 2019 and announced in April that they were expecting.

Katherine, the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, opened up about her pregnancy during an Instagram Live in June, calling Pratt “a wonderful husband” while she was expecting.

“It’s been amazing having [Pratt] home and also very understanding about my need to sanitize everything,” the author said about being pregnant during the coronavirus pandemic.

Pratt, who is also dad to 7-year-old son Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris, told “Entertainment Tonight” in 2019 that he sees “lots of kids” in his future.

“I always want to be that guy that works to live, not lives to work,” the Marvel actor explained.

In May, Arnold gushed about his future grandchild to Jimmy Fallon, referencing ex-wife Shriver’s connection to the Kennedy family.

“I was just thinking about the gene pool. I mean, think about this for a second,” he explained. “It is part Kennedy and part Schwarzenegger, and Pratt. I mean, we can do anything.”

Meanwhile, Shriver, who introduced her daughter to Pratt in June 2018, has said she’s excited about her first grandchild, but doesn’t want to be called “Grandma.”

“I’m gonna come up with my own name,” she joked to “Entertainment Tonight.”
