Tossing her belongings into a suitcase and escaping heartbreak seemed like the best idea for Rhea Conners. She’d simply travel across the ocean to visit her grandfather in Ireland and heal. Then she’d come back. Simple. But what she doesn’t expect is to find solace and healing in the form of the O’Rifcan family. One member in Claron. Claron enjoyed his life farming the land his grandparents gifted him. He lived his life quietly and contentedly, until Rhea arrived. He’d steered clear of relationships and entanglements since his last heartbreak, but something about Roland’s granddaughter twists him up inside. Something about Rhea has him rethinking his life of solitude. Two hearts. One chance. Can Rhea and Claron overcome past hurts to make a new beginning?

Thanks for reading my books!

I sat here for about five minutes trying to think of something prolific to write, and all I came up with was that first sentence. However, despite it being simple and understated, it's a genuine response. I appreciate all who read and listen to my books. And for those who rate and review it, a special thanks to you.
Happy Reading!

I can't think of anything I didn't like about this book and this series! It's clean, it's funny, it's romantic, and there aren't any stupid problematic situations the characters get into that cause a problem before the sweet ending! The first book surprised me by how quickly it ended, but once the romance was set, what more was needed? I was perfectly ready when the other books in the series also ended quickly. I'm looking forward to reading the last book in this series and going on to read other books by Katharine E Hamilton! I love the Irish setting, the Irish language, the family involvement, the rich friendships; I'm hooked!

Now I have to read the rest of the series

Claron is the youngest son in the O'Rifcan family. He has 9 other brothers and sisters. Rhea has come to Ireland to visit her grandfather and to escape her cheating ex boyfriend. From the moment she meets the first O'Rifcan she is accepted as family and though she wasn't looking for any relationship she can't deny her immediate attraction to Claron. Lots of family relationships and great characters. Truely enjoyed this book and now I've more to read. This is the first book I've read by this author but I'll be reading more.

cute and sweet

This was a cute and sweet story. Quick, easy read. Not as much chemistry between the leads as I'd like. The ending was a bit anticlimactic for me. Overall cute but left a little to be desired.

Claron: The Siblings of O’Rifcan Book 1 is by Katherine Hudson. This is the first in the series of the O’Rifcan brothers of Ireland. Katherine sets out to introduce us to a family of 10 children- 7 boys and 3 girls. They are a very closeknit family and although they have their arguments, they stick together when it counts. Messing with one of the siblings means you mess with all of them. Their mother, Sidna, runs a B&B out of their family home since all of the children have homes of their own.
Claron is not the oldest of the siblings; but he owns and runs the family farm. He is up early each morning to milk the cows and begin his day. He milks the cows four times a day as well as cultivates several large fields. Luckily, his brothers are available to help io out when needed.
Rhea has left Maryland to travel to Ireland to visit her grandfather, Roland, who is living near the O’Rifcan’s. He spends most of his time either with Senior O’Rifcan or at the O’Rifcan B&B. Her luck in Ireland is failing her when she has a flat tire going into town and her GPS doesn’t work here. To top it off, it is railing heavily and she gets her written map wet and it smears. Why did she leave Maryland?
Just as she gives into despair, Riley O”Rifcan appears and helps her to the b &B. Riley is an architect and is headed home for a home-cooked meal. He like all the other O”Rifcans is very handsome and charming and flirts all the time. She also meets Murphy, who owns the local pub. Both Riley and Murphy fall for Rhea; but as soon as she sees Claron, she is lost. Although they flirt outrageously with her, flirting is all it is and they well know it.
Can Rhea win over Claron? What about her life back in Maryland? What happens with her ex finds her in Ireland?

Steady, detailed story. If you adore Ireland you'll enjoy it for that reason!

I absolutely adore Ireland! Its in my DNA and I've been lucky to have visited for several weeks in 2019, before the world shut down! This book is a steady story telling with vivid descriptions of the Irish country side, ruins, the language and its history. Very, very slow build up of romance but the O'Rifcan clan keeps you interested in reading. If your looking for a steamy romance this book is not that the most romance is hand holding and a chaste kiss here and there. Apparently this story continues on to the second book as it just abruptly ends and stages continue on in Riley's book. I'm not going to lie not a fan of abrupt endings! However I do enjoy this family and the unity they have, I promise its real life like that in Ireland! The people are so welcoming and kind and the land had to be created by the fairies because its breathtaking!
If for no other reason read This book to get a sense of living in Ireland, in imo the most beautiful amazing and welcoming place I've ever been!

Fun, light romance. Nice descriptions of Irish countryside. The story is standard romance with formerly jilted characters thrown together by circumstances finding each other and falling in love though resisting it for a while. Characters are likable though stereotypical. With her nice descriptions of Irish countryside and some knowledge of Irish folklore and history, it appeared that the author has actually been to Ireland. However, the dialogue made me wonder if she ever talked with or listened to anyone there. I have never heard anyone in Ireland use the word "be" as the O'Rifcans do and some of the ways siblings talked to each other did not ring true to me. The quality of writing and editing is better than many self-published books. Even with the previously stated issues, I will most likely continue to read the series, just because I like to read books set in Ireland and about big families.

(I listened to this as an audiobook)

Story: 4.5 stars

A wonderful love story about two people who have experienced the heartbreak of being cheated on and (eventually) find their own strength and then each other.

Narration: 3 stars

I’m torn about Mr. Black’s narration. I like the Irish accent, but have no idea how authentic it sounds, I’ll leave it to other listeners to debate that. But what lost him a star in my rating system was his women’s voices. Both moms sound screechy and all the younger women sound like sultry valley-girls. The cadence with which these younger women deliver their lines feels off. The male voices are excellent and the one female voice I enjoyed was Claron’s granny, so I know he can do lovely female voices. Anyway, he was a solid narrator and I’d be happy to listen to more of his acting.

Enjoyed the spot-on Irish dialogue between the characters and the spirit of Rhea to start over. Heartwarming tale of a ten-sibling Irish family who are independent yet involved in their parent's B&B as a family gathering place. Rhea, who is escaping a relationship in Maryland gone bad, visits her grandfather in Ireland and stays at the B&B meeting all the siblings but favoring Claron, the farmer. Clean and sweet throughout, portraying the different personalities yet closeness and the love of the family. Always heartwarming to experience this within a book, yet a bit disappointed by the somewhat hinted, yet open-ended conclusion. This is the first book of the saga of the entire family, but always prefer closure of one story before proceeding to the next.

Could not stop reading this book

Refreshing is a good word for this story. Rhea leaves for Ireland to visit her Grandpa; and to heal from discovering her ex cheating on her, and her car accident she had leaving the sight of him holding and kissing another woman. What is finds in Ireland is something that a lot of us wish we could find. Good friends, family, healing, and love. This book will not disappoint if you are looking for something to read that will leave you with a full heart and a smile on your face.

I gave the story three stars

Because it was a very plain story. Nothing jumps out at you. Nothing to make you wonder, with expectations of "What's next". The most angst part of the story, was when ex boyfriend, Oliver comes, and tries to take Rhea home, with him. It's like a book about Ireland, using a story to show how once you get there, you want to stay. You know Katherine, a story can still be clean and wholesome, with some good old fashioned, hot kisses, through out the book. Not the two kisses, at the end of the book, which could have been between siblings!

The story was cute. The characters were nice. One thing that stood out was Ireland. Felt more like a travel story of falling for a local. I was also not aware this was a clean story. There are two kind of boring kisses and then it abruptly ends. This was the first of a series. Took me a minute to get into the language and flow. There is a lot of unnecessary details and dialogue that doesn't push the story forward. I have not read this author before, maybe its her style? I'm sure many others will enjoy it.

A Cute Story, Very Clean, Simple Writing, A Quick Easy Read

It was a cute story. The writing style was simple, and I would say this book would be good starter romance novel for teenagers or young adults. It's a light, quick, easy read. It was a very clean romance, a couple of chaste kisses is as passionate as it got. I am a little more mature, and prefer my romance novels to be as well. So although not for me, again I do think this book would be good for young readers who are just beginning to read this genre.

Sweet Irish Romance.

I loved all of the characters in this novel. Clary and Rhea had such great chemistry together. I loved how each one had to learn to overcome heart ache to really learn to love another again. There were so many great parts of this book. I literally had lol moments. There is also very touching moments that show how much love a family can give even if they are not of blood relation. My first read from this author but most definitely not my last.

Warm Fuzzies

I raced through this sweet romantic story that takes place in Ireland. I loved the characters--both main and secondary. The story wasn't always real life, but sometimes you just don't want real life. I enjoyed that it read as if watching a movie. I highly recommend it. It did end really abruptly but I'm sure I will learn more in the next book that's about another of the O'Rifcan siblings.

Fell in love with this story

From the moment I started reading this story I fell in love with this book. It made me want to hop on a plane and head to Ireland. I have been to England many times and in the small villages the people are so kind. I can only imagine what it would be like to meet a family like Claron's . The story of Claron and Rheah's relationship growing touches the heart. My all time favorite book ever❤

Healing hearts

The stories I usually lean towards are historical romance, but this one was great and really refreshing. It moved along really well and the characters well put together and vibrant. I enjoyed the way Ireland was described, I would like to believe it looks that way although I have never actually been myself. I look forward to seeing how the rest of the story unfolds in the next book.

Sweet, simple and predictable. A cute little romantic story set in Ireland, who wouldn’t love that. A huge family with multiple grown children many of whom are unattached and still come home from dinner. I Love the idea of that, having your grown children close and home every night for dinner. Both of the main characters have been in a bad relationship where they were cheated on, but somehow find solace in each other. Overall it was a good story.

Claron: Book One of the Siblings O’Rifcan Series

This is the beginning of an interesting series based in Ireland. Rhea has suffered a horrible breakup and decides to visit her granddad in Ireland. Upon arriving she meets the wonderful family of the B&B owner where she is staying. One of the family is Claron. He too suffered a similar messy breakup a year earlier so they seem to connect. What happens when her ex boyfriend decides he wants her back and shows up?

Generations of Irish 💕 love.
Rhea with a broken heart and a desire to escape her two timing, cheating-now ex-boyfriend, heads to Ireland to visit her grandad. Staying at a local B&B meets lots of new friends. Beautiful country, and a family of gorgeous brothers, all supporting different local occupations. She gains an instant family of brothers and sisters.
Where will her Irish friends lead her.

Rhea comes to .ireland for the love of her grandfather and to heal. Finding the O’Rifcan family and them loving her, especially Claron. Heartbreak and trust was needed before true love. Good Irish story, the setting and the people. Enjoyable narration, given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

A Good, Cozy Read

I loved the slow, easy pace of this love story. Neither of the MCs were too eager to jump into a relationship with the other. They approached the prospect carefully and plausibly considering their pasts. The characters and setting were interesting. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a clean, slow-paced romance.

Cute finding yourself book.

Super cute and laugh out loud funny. Characters are very relatable. Low angst, feel good story. No steam, kind of disappointing, but the family is interesting enough to keep the pages turning and want to know what happens in the next book. Will save to my wish list for the next time I need a warm and fuzzy love book.

while I loved the story and the style of writing what I do not love is to find out what happens I have to buy the next book in the series. So if you like to have to buy another book to see what happens this book and maybe series is for you ... for me ... not going to buy the next book unless I get bored with the other books I still have to read.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read Riley's story. The setting was perfect in Ireland with a large family. This book told Claron and Rhea's story while laying the ground work with the rest of the O'rifcan family. It was a very clean book, which speaks volumes to the author's talent. Perfect book to cozy up with and take a trip to Ireland.

I enjoyed the narration of Alex Black

Rhea is running from a boyfriend who betrayed her, and Claron, who has also suffered from heartbreak.
The story takes us Ireland and its gorgeous country side.

The O'Rifcan family felt so warm and inviting, that it made me want to visit their B & B.

A wonderful clean romance.

I love the Irish ways and dialect!!

I like reading books from different backgrounds. Especially those with accents. This book has it all… laughter, bantering, and standing up against abusive toxic behavior and love of family. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys clean and fun reading!

Loved it

Between the scenery, and O'Rifgan clan it is a beautiful slowly developing love story. Both main characters seem to reach out to each other, gently and tentatively. Loved every page.

Not Happy

I wanted Riley to be the choice and was very disappointed that he was not. I really, really hate Maternal match making- so this was another aspect that made me grumpy, I guess not every book can be as is wanted and there is sometimes disappointment.

This audio book was like listening to a Hallmark movie. The author created memorable characters and Alex Black made sure every one came alive. If you're saddened by Droughtlander, this is certainly the audio book to pick up. Be warned, if you're looking for sex, this isn't the story for you.
