David Foster, 69, and Katharine McPhee, 35, tied the knot in an intimate London ceremony on Friday — marking his fifth marriage and her second, Page Six has confirmed.
According to Us Weekly, the couple wed at Church of Saint Yeghiche in South Kensington, London in front of 100 guests. McPhee wore a custom gown by Zac Posen.
Earlier in the day, McPhee wrote on Instagram of the wedding: “Exactly 13 years ago today my very first single, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, was released right after Idol. Today… I’m marrying the man who produced it. Life is full of beautiful coincidences, isn’t it? Thank you for taking me over the rainbow, David.”
Page Six exclusively revealed in February that the couple was planning small summer nuptials in the UK.
Family began to trickle into the UK a few days ahead of the wedding. Foster’s daughter Erin posted videos from a family outing on a double-decker bus tour on Thursday.
McPhee and Foster began dating in spring of 2017, but didn’t confirm their romance until almost a year later when they attended the Met Gala together.
Foster proposed in July 2018 while the pair were vacationing on the Italian island of Capri.
“He did it at the top of this mountain in Anacapri,” she wrote on Instagram of the proposal. “Totally dark only stars. Thankfully he didn’t push me off the cliff. He said it was one of the other and in the end he spared me.”
Following the engagement, people took to Twitter to criticize the 34-year age gap between McPhee and Foster.
Foster’s daughter Amy, 45, told Page Six of McPhee, “It’s sexist to drag Kat and call her a gold digger, which people are doing, and have done, because Kat has a life and she makes her own money … They genuinely love each other. It really pisses me off as a feminist when I hear people saying that she’s with my dad because she’s trying to get something.”
McPhee was previously wed to Nick Cokas and Foster was previously married to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson and, most recently, Yolanda Hadid.
Reps for the pair did not immediately return our request for comment.
