Actress/singer Katharine Mcphee is expecting her first child with husband David Foster.

The Smash star was photographed with what appeared to be a bulging baby belly on Tuesday, as she and musician Foster stepped out for lunch in Montecito, California — and also made a stop at a children’s store.

McPhee was dressed in leggings and a form-fitting black top, which showed she was pregnant, carrying a chihuahua in a sling.

The news of the 36 year old’s first pregnancy emerges just over three months after she and Foster celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary.

She became Foster’s fifth wife in June, 2019. The two first met on American Idol, season 5, in 2006, when McPhee was among the contestants mentored by Foster.

The producer is already a father-of-five to daughters Allison, Amy, Sara, Erin, and Jordan, who range in age from 50 to 34.
Foster praised McPhee in People for her positive relationship with his five adult daughters. “I think she navigates it really, really well,” he said. “And so do they. Because they could be horrible. It sure makes it easier for me that they get along. It’s not a fleeting thing, either. It’s been a few years.”
