![[Camille Claudel in her workshop.] Claudel was famous for being a protegee and lover of Rodin's. After her father's death, she was committed to an insane asylum in 1913 by her mother and brother where she lived till her death in 1943. Releases were blocked by her family. Her mother never visited her. No one from the family attended her funeral (only a few members from the hospital staff). Later her remains were buried in a communal grave (the body was never claimed by her family). Tragic.
