Kingswood Foundation presented Kendrick with the Milt Adams Achievement Award

A Kansas City community leader on Wednesday received a special recognition.The Kingswood Foundation presented its Milt Adams Achievement Award to the president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Bob Kendrick.The award is given to people who represent an example of visionary service, inspirational leadership, mentorship of others along with making a significant difference in the community.Kendrick accepted the award at the dinner and gala held at Arrowhead Stadium, thanking the foundation and the audience, while sharing stories of past Negro Leagues players such as Buck O’Neil, Satchel Paige, and Cool Papa Bell and lessons from their lives."He's made a significant contribution to the Kansas City community," said Dianne Kramer, director of the Kingswood Foundation. "That is bringing all walks of people together to honor the Negro Leagues Museum, what they've done now with the Monarchs, and bringing so many people to Kansas City and showing off the best of what we have to offer."KMBC 9 Investigative Reporter Matt Flener also served as emcee of Wednesday's event. His grandmother, Ruth, lives at Kingswood Senior Living.
