For my birthday we attended the 2012 Crystal Ball in Prague. It was the most amazing event and was like stepping back in time. Costumes were required and we danced the night aways in a palace just like they would have in the 17th and 18th century. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!

The heart of Old Town and almost completely untouched by the destruction of WWII. Was the center hub of some many of our Prague activities.

Second tour was of the Spanish Synagogue. It was a polar opposite from the first, as it was very ornate and had so much moor influence.

We toured three synagogues in old town. This was the first of the three and the oldest and beautiful in its simplicity.

Lunch surrounded by so much taxidermy. So. much. taxidermy.

Free to tour. Hosts concerts and has an amazing chandelier. Right off old town square.

One of the original entrances to old town Prague. You can go half way up without paying, but get the ticket to climb to the top. The trip up is in a narrow, high step, circular staircase and there is a lot of history on the fortifications that once protected old town. The view down the old town streets from the roof is lovely.

Art nouveau building on the edge of old town with restaurants and a beautiful concert hall.

Just had coffee and light breakfast.

Vegan/vegetarian restaurant in old town. Food was good and a nice change from sausages, goulash, and more sausages.

Went to see Laterna Magicka. One of the weirdest things we have ever seen. Go see it, be confused, and enjoy that you have seen something distinctly original.

Grocery and department store near our airBnB. Groceries, wine, and an umbrella were procured.

Beautiful art nouveau restaurant. Visited to see the decor and stayed for a wonderful French meal that include the rare Prague meal of a salad.

Famous TV tower that you can see from all across Prague. David Cerny sculptures of babies crawling up the side of the tower is both amazing and creepy. Trip to the top was nerve-rattling, but the view was unbelievable!

Museum and memorial. Really interesting and worth the trip.

Not in the standard tourist area, but 100% worth the trip for the view of the city alone. Bonus is that the park has a fascinating museum about the history of communist rule that is not to be missed. Easily accessible by bus/trolley.

We needed coffee, it was near the bus stop. No judgements.

Pub with some solid food and cheap, good Czech beer.

Best food option in the castle and wonderful view across the city from the porch at the back of the restaurant.

In February it was colder inside than out since its all stone work, but we were so amazed by how beautiful it was it took awhile to notice. Don't miss the Alphonse Mucha stained glass window and the solid silver tombs in the back.

A must vist. Grab the two day ticket and just do a couple of buildings each day. There is so much to see and its not worth it to rush if you have the time. Also completely walkable from Old Town if you want to explore the neighborhood around it.

Really beautiful and amazing to see in person. The intricacy and detail of the clock is unbelievable. If you want to see the movement of the clock show up about 10 minutes before the hour and stake out a spot. The action is subtle and goes very quickly, so be prepared. If you miss it, not big deal because just seeing it is enough.
