Singer-songwriter Jon Batiste won Album of the Year at the 2022 Grammy Awards for his Black Lives Matter movement-inspired album “We Are,” beating out several big artists, including Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo.

After the 35-year-old bagged the biggest prize at the Grammys, many could not help but ask about his net worth. Here’s the answer to that and more about Batiste’s career.

Born into a family of professional musicians, Batiste started playing percussion and drums at eight years old with his family for the Batiste Brothers Band. At 11, he switched to piano.

Six years later, while attending the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, he released his first album on Apple Music, “Times in New Orleans.” In 2004, he graduated from St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, and he obtained his bachelor's and master's degree from The Juilliard School.

Today, he is best known for his job as the bandleader of Stay Human on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and has a net worth of $4 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

Over the years, he released several albums, including "Live in New York: At the Rubin Museum of Art," "In the Night" and "The Amazing Jon Batiste!"

In February, Batiste secretly married his longtime partner Suleika Jaouad, the bestselling author of cancer memoir “Between Two Kingdoms” after she was diagnosed with leukemia for the second time, according to People.

Aside from the Album of the Year award, Batiste also won four other awards at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards after receiving a whopping 11 nominations for the evening.

He won Best Music Video for his song “Freedom,” Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song for his song “Cry” and Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for “Soul,” which he wrote alongside Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

"I just put my head down and work on the craft everyday. It's more than entertainment for me, it's a spiritual practice," Batiste said in his acceptance speech for Album of the Year.

"I believe this to my core, there is no best musician, best artist, best dancer, best actor. The creative arts are subjective and they reach people at a point in their lives when they need it most. It's like a song or an album is made, and it's almost like it has a radar to find the person when they need it the most,” he added.
