A security guard shot a woman multiple times after a dispute in a Houston Zoo parking lot Friday afternoon, police say.
Around 2:15 p.m., a woman allegedly got into an argument with a man over a parking spot, said Patricia Cantu, assistant chief of the Houston Police Department. A contract security guard tried to intervene after the woman assaulted the man, Cantu said.
Several security guards tried to detain the woman when she tried to drive off, Cantu said. When the woman allegedly attempted to hit another security guard with her car, shots were fired by the security guard, she said.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital in fair condition. The security guard also suffered minor injuries and is said to be in fair condition as well.
The woman had four children in the vehicle, Cantu said.
No other information was given about the shooting.
