John Doe is a Killer in Midnight Horrors. He is based on (as the name says) John Doe, a well-known Roblox user infamous for appearing in various Roblox myths and hoaxes. He was revamped in Version 1.37.0 (John Doe Update 2022), and revamped again in Version 1.54.0.

Behavior[]

When John Doe spawns in, he will chase and pursue the nearest player at a decent pace. Any player near him will be impaled and instantly killing them; If John Doe has some distance with the player he will dash towards them while disintegrating anyone in his path.

During the round, a random player will be targeted by a red lightning, indicated by the red circles that slowly home below the player, before striking that same location where the red circle last seen. At random times, he'll laugh, spawning a bunch of red meteors to crash upon players, indicated by a larger red circle, the meteors take some time before landing.

Occasionally, every players location will be swapped with another, prompted by a red and black glitching screen.

At random times, he'll enter his enraged state indicated by a small glitching sound, causing his right arm to grow a darkened blade and completely alter his attacks.

When he see a player in his line of sight he will choose a different attack to perform; he will charge towards the player and impale them with his blade, he will initiate the same dash and a quote can be heard while he's dashing, or he will do a small charge slashing the player in half if he was closer to his target. He can also leap towards a random player and creates a small explosion when landing.

This enraged state is temporary, and he can return to his normal state at any time.

Whenever John Doe kills a player, he will add 2-5 seconds to the timer, so the round will go on for a long time, Although he will stop extending the timer with each kill after some time has passed.

Notes[]

  • All of John Doe's attack bypass the Blue Relic.
  • John Doe can be outran with the Ultra Coil, but his dashes can only be outran with the Emerald Coil.
  • John Doe has stun immunity.
  • John Doe will chase ally NPCs such as the noobs from Noob Tube and the pumpkin minions from the Hallow Cube.
  • Some of John Doe's attacks bypass forms of killerignore, such as the Cloak of Invisibility.
  • John Doe can add a total of 3 minutes and 50 seconds to his time.
  • John Doe's right hand is still visible when he's angry during the Ghost round.

John Doe was a Killer in Midnight Horrors. He is based on (as the name says) John Doe, a well-known Roblox user infamous for appearing in various Roblox myths and hoaxes. He was revamped in Version 1.37.0 (John Doe Update 2022).

Behavior[]

Upon spawning, John Doe will chase and pursue any nearby players. John Doe moves at a rather quick pace, being a bit slower than the Ultra Coil. If a player is near John Doe, he will slam the ground, creating a medium sized AoE that deals moderate damage to any nearby players. It takes about 2-3 slams to kill players. John Doe suffers from a short cooldown after performing each slam. Whenever John Doe is too far from a player, he will instantly teleport to the closest player on the map, attacking said player. However, John Doe also has other attacks he can perform to kill players much easier.

John Doe will summon red spots under players. These red spots will soon trigger a lightning strike that deals a lot of damage to players. Some lightning strikes will also move around for a short period of time, dealing rapid damage to anyone caught in it's way.

John Doe will also stop in place and laugh, shortly before chasing players like normal. When he does this, he will trigger a Meteor Attack; multiple large meteors will fall onto the ground one by one. Each meteor will fall directly onto players. Upon colliding on the ground, it will deal a lot of damage. The meteors also have a large range radius of explosion. It takes about 2 meteors to kill a player.

Whenever John Doe kills a player, he will add 2-5 seconds to the timer, so the round will go on for a long time. Although, he will stop extending the timer with each kill after some time has passed.

Notes[]

  • John Doe and his attacks can bypass the Blue Relic, although it only deals half the damage.
  • Due to how large his attack range is, escaping with a Ultra Coil may still be hard.
  • John Doe has stun-immunity.
  • John Doe will chase ally NPCs such as the noobs from Noob Tube and the pumpkin minions from the Hallow Cube.
  • Due to John Doe being able to teleport, even in single-player servers the round will still be extended by a lot.

Trivia[]

  • John Doe was revamped Version 1.37.0 (John Doe Update 2022), which was released on the 18th of March. It is a really common rumour that every year on 18th March, John Doe will return to ROBLOX and will steal multiple user's accounts.
    • Midnight Horrors was also not renamed to "John Doe" like how it did during Version 1.19.0 and Version 1.5.1.
  • John Doe currently appears in another Roblox game titled Oculus' Game, a game also made by CaptainSpinxs, and is capable of spawning in Wave 10 or higher, specifically the 'Impossible' difficulty.
  • John Doe also appeared in The Hellevator, a now-discontinued game also made by CaptainSpinxs, in that game, he was completely different and unrelated to the Midnight Horrors John Doe.

John Doe was a Killer in Midnight Horrors. He is based on (as the name says) John Doe, a well-known Roblox user infamous for appearing in various Roblox myths and hoaxes. He was added in Version 1.19.0 (John Doe Update 2021).

Behavior[]

Like most killers in Midnight Horrors, John Doe will actively pursue and chase any players within close proximity of his current position. While chasing a player, if John Doe manages to catch up to a player, he will hit players with an AoE attack that can kill players in 2-4 hits (3-5 if they have double health). John Doe can also send out a red floating orb to a random player on the map, the orb will use the same attack John Doe does but will only attack a certain amount of times depending on how close a player is to it.

Notes[]

  • The screen will flash red everytime the red floating orb or himself attacks the player.
  • John Doe can be outran with any available coil in shop, though he can run faster than average sprint.
  • When spawned, John Doe will remove the player's ability to jump.
  • NPCs could be indirectly killed by John Doe's attacks and they would permanently stay in the server until it was reseted.
  • John Doe has a stun immunity, so he's not affected by Pumpkin Staff, Metal Bat, Yolkster Plant, or Freeze Ray.

Trivia[]

  • When a player gets killed by John Doe, they will instantly get turned into stone which will emit a "glitch effect."
  • John Doe was added on March 18th, 2021. A common rumour on Roblox is that if you play Roblox on March 18th, John Doe (the Roblox user) will hack and steal your account. This Killer being released on March 18th is meant to parody that.
    • Along with John Doe being added, Midnight Horrors was jokingly renamed to John Doe and the thumbnail was changed to an image of John Doe.
