Arthur Amey Arthur L. Amey, of Lakevlew, Ohio, formerly of Tunkhannock. died Saturday. January 21. 1989, In the Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, Ohio.

Born Sept. 24. 1903. in Spring-ville. he was son the son of the late Burtram and Isabelle Miner Amey.

Prior to retiring, he was self-employed as a carpenter. Mr. Amey was a member of the Tunkhannock Oddfellows Lodge. He was preceded in death by his first wife. Elizabeth Trvis.

Surviving are his wife, the former Carrie'Harmon; sons. Howard, Lake-view, Ohio; Nlles. Defiance. Ohio; Arthur, San Marcus, Texas; Richard. Tavares, a daughter, Judith Mason, West Newton, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

she was the daughter of the late Matt and Helene Sulzer Kearney. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the North Hudson Hospital, N.J. Mrs. Henderer was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, who died In 1977. Surviving are daughters, Joan Werner, Alta Loma, Barbara Martin, Tunkhannock; sisters, Evelyn Sabbagh, Whiting. N.J.; Jane Restall. Port St. Lucie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R.

1989. in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He formerly resided at South Main Street. Mountaintop, for 20 years. Born in Ashley, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Cisek Falandys.

He was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Sugar Notch. Prior to retiring, he and his wife owned and operated the corner store on East Main Miners Mills, for 20 years. He and his wife celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this past May 19. Mr. Falandys was preceded in death by his wife, the former Stella Barbara Kacan Barbara Klzling Kacan, 85, of 185 Library Mystic, ConnTT formerly of Stratford, died Monday, Jan.

23. 1989. in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, New London, following a lengthy illness. Born in Dupont, Jan. 6, 1904, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Barbara Chowanec Klzling.

She moved to Stratford In 1950 where she resided prior to moving to Mystic In 1988. She had been employed as an Inspector with the Remington Arms Company, Bridgeport, and also worked as a housekeeper for -Msgr. George Durisin in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church. Conn.

She was a member of St. John's Mothers and Daughters Society. Her husband, George, formerly of Pennsylvania, died in 1982. Surviving are a daughter. Barbara Romboni, Mystic; brother, Joseph Kisling, Sugarloaf; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday from the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

John Yacuboski John J. Yacuboski, of Rear Coal Street, Glen Lyon, died Tuesday af-i, ternoon, January 24. 1989, in the Nantlcoke State Hospital.

Born In Glen Lyon, where he resided all his life, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary KriefskI Yacuboski, of Glen Lyon. Mr. Yacuboski was employed jy the Susquehanna and Glen Alden Coal Companies, retiring in 1969. He was a member of St. Nicholas Ukranian Catholic Church of Glen Lyon.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force in the Pacific Theater of War. Mr. Yacuboski was a member of the American Legion Post No. 350, Nanticoke.

He was also a member of the V.F.W. Chester Strzalta Post No. 8354, and its Home Association. Mr. Yacuboski was a member of the D.A.V.

Association. He and his wife, Telka, celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary In August of 1988. Surviving, in addition to his wife, at home, are daughters, Mrs. John (Susan) Sklaney, Lawton. Mrs.

Mabel Cunningham Mabel D. Gilmore Cunningham. 85. of Bristol, died Sunday. Jan.

22. 1989, in the Lower Bucks Hospital. Bristol. Born In Keystone, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Mae Ralston. She resided most of her life In Wilkes-Barre, moving to Bristol in 1 979 to reside with her daughter.

Mrs. Cunningham was a charter member of the Primitive Methodist Church, Penndel. She was preceded In death by her husbands. Robert Noble Gilmore and John Cunningham. Surviving are children.

of West College Avenue, State College, died Tuesday morning, January 24, 1989, at the Centre Community Hospital, State College, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Born Oct. 5, 1960. in Carlisle, she was a daughter of Lester M. and Glenna M.

Wise Trimmer. She was a member of the State College Assembly of God Church. On Aug. 14. 1982.

she married the Rev. David A. Willis, formerly of Wyoming. Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Phoebe Marie Willis, State College; sisters, Christine T. Jewett, Denver.

Colorado; Lisa M. Trimmer, Carlisle; paternal grandparents, Mervin L. and Alice W. Trimmer, Allen. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 1 a.m.

Joseph Drevenak Joseph G. Drevenak, 69, of Spencer Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 24. 1989, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Plains Township. Born in Wilkes-Barre Township, where he resided most of his life, he was the son of the late George and Mary Fedor Drevenak.

He attended Wilkes-Barre Township schools and was a member of St. Joseph's Monastery, Wilkes-Barre Township. Prior to his retirement in 1979. Mr. Drevenak was employed by Harte and Mountaintop, and previously by Craft Associates, Wilkes-Barre.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving In the European Theater. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Elizabeth Brogham-er. on Oct. 12. 1966; sisters, Helen and Anna.

Most recently, he worked as a porter at the Y.M.C.A. in Wilkes-Barre. and also worked at Carol's Restaurant In the East End section of Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Sofranko was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

He and his wife, the former Kath-erina Portik. celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on July 30. 1988. grant served as organist. Mr.

Piechota was employed by the Trane Company, retiring in the late 1970s. A member of the Sacred Heart Church, Dupont. he was also a member of the Elm Street Sportsman's Club, Dupont: also, the Dupont Volunteer Hose Company. He was preceded in death by a brother. Anthony; sisters, Ann, Maryland Julie.
