Jack is a heartwarming movie with some sexual content

Jack is a really good movie. I haven't seen it for a long time and I wanted to watch a good movie with my son. I couldn't remember exactly what the movie had in it. Im talking profanity and things of that sort. So I looked on common sense media to get an idea, and the parents that reviewed this movie seemed to have reviewed the movie based on what they can vaguely remember. So since I just watched it today, I'll review. The beginning of the movie has a person in a costume that has 4 breasts on it. (like naked women breasts) The movie does have a part where the mom flirts with jack who is 10 years old. She insinuates a good time which kids wont really understand. While on the phone jack tells the dad that he made new friends and tells his dad that his friend has dirty magazines under his bed and jack asks his dad what are dirty magazines. Another part of the movie, jacks friend takes him to their tree house and they let him in the tree house because he bought a penthouse magazine. The kids agree to let him in and then the friends sit in a group staring at the magazine. One of the friends ask Jack if he gets a boner, which jack doesn't understand what it is and then the kid says erection, do you get an erection. Jack responds with no but I plan on getting one for Christmas. Jack is talking about getting an erector set, an old toy kids used to get to build things. He does get drunk at the bar where he meets up with the kids mom that was flirting with him in the beginning of the movie and he does kiss his 5th grade teacher really briefly, like a peck. The movie is not that bad because most of these things will fly past your kids. Just giving you a heads up incase one of your kids asks you what dirty magazines are or asks what is a boner.

Great movie, should be praised more

I have watched this movie countless times and it is, hands down, the best thing I have ever seen. Jack is a beautiful movie with a tear-jerking ending that is a great pick for kids and adults as well. There are some roadblocks, however, that cause it to be slightly unsuitable for children below 9. There is a lot of innuendo in the bar scene near the end of the movie that Jack doesn't understand and young kids watching it probably won't either. There is some coarse language (such as a--hole and b-tch) but it's nothing that a mature child couldn't handle. Also, there is just a bit of violence, such as when Jack gets in a fight with a man in a bar. Some small children also probably won't be able to handle the scene where Jack has a heart attack, because it can be very frightening at times. I'd say the only thing I don't particularly enjoy is the whole character of Dolores (or "D.D"). She is incredibly clingy with Jack and it is quite nauseating to watch a full grown adult caress a child who simply looks like he is older. Practically all of the scenes she is in are painstakingly uncomfortable to watch. In conclusion, most mature children above the age of 9 could watch this movie with no problems, but it can be very awkward at times.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say (7 ):
Kids say (9 ):

Despite the distractions of inappropriate sexual behavior and profanity, JACK is essentially a family film with a moral message. Middle-school and high-school aged children will enjoy the many humorous scenes. Adults, too, will appreciate the message that a person does not have to lose one's child-like spark just because of the irreversible aging process.
