Spent just one night at this Hilton Garden Inn in Downtown Chicago. The location could not be better: just 2 blocks from Michigan Avenue shopping, across the street from the mall with Nordstroms on Michigan, and within a block or two of many resturaunts, boutiques, and a movie theater. The Red Line L is right out front. For the hotel breakfast resturaunt you go downstairs to The Weber Grill, where breakfast includes Buffet and Cook-to-Order choices; a good value in a nice convenient setting. The hotel lobby is small but functional and the rooms are clean and large enough with a small coffee bar, desk and lounge chair. The bed is top-notch as in any Hilton. Bathroom is clean and fixtures still appear new. Only two small complaints about the room: a noisy AC fan and a humming mini-bar fridge, both of which the front desk said they would attend to and credit back 2,500 Hilton Honor Points to my account for the trouble. My only real complaint would be the price to park...$42 per day without in and out privliges; the same as anywhere in downtown Chicago but still annoying! At least the garage is attached to the Hotel. Overall, this is a busy and somewhat noisy property as you would expect in the heart of a great city. But it is well located, clean and safe and a reasonable value.

Room tip: Some rooms on the East Side may have a view of Lake Michigan, but as in most big cities it is mosly a view of other buildings and rooftops.

Return stay at this wonderful hotel and I just can't say enough how much I enjoy staying there. Besides the excellent accommodations and location, the hotel is simply great. My every interaction with their staff was a pleasant experience. The housekeepers on my floor were very friendly and readily supplied extra amenities when I asked. A minor maintenance issue with a shower head was quickly fixed. And when the maintenance man saw me in the lobby later he asked if everything was working fine. There's probably a lot of nice hotels in Chicago but you will not find a more friendly and professional staff then the Hilton Garden Inn - Magnificent Mile.

Stayed here for a family reunion. The hotel is on the pricey side, however it really is a great location.
I arrived around lunch on Friday before check-in, my room wasn't ready. However the front desk was polite, recognizing me as a Hilton Honors member, offered free water and stowed our bags until our room was ready. The hotel itself sits near the Navy Pier. You could walk a block over to catch the free trolley to it. In addition it was a couple blocks over from the Magnificent Mile (Bloomingdales was nearly across the street). The location was also near many places to eat like Uno Pizzeria, Chipotle, the best being Weber Grill which was housed in the hotel. Throughout my stay I ate there at least one for every type meal, and enjoyed drinks at the bar.

The lobby wasn't that big but it provided a good place to sit and people watch those passing by on the street. The room was an okay size, standard double room with beds that allowed you to control the firmness. I slept well every night. The bathroom was somewhat small, with a shower/tub combo. Not really spectacular about it.

Overall the hotel itself was average, but what knocks it into '4' category is the location. You are near just about everything.

This hotel worked out perfect for our weekend stay. The Red Line is right outside the hotel which is so convenient if you are taking in a ballgame at Wrigley. The hotel was clean, staff nice and the attached Weber Grill was perfect for a quick cocktail or yummy breakfast.

Location is very convenient. Red Line station is basically in the basement, Mag Mile about 3 blocks away and it's a 15 minute stroll to the Gold Coast. Lobby staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. I didn't eat there, but I had several locals say the Weber Grill restaurant attached to the hotel was one of their favroite places for steak in the city. I will definitely consider staying here on my next trip to Chicago.

Room tip: Rooms start on the 12th floor, so you don't get much street noise. Try to get a higher room for a "city view".
