Q:
I am definitely staying at a embassy suite when I visit in a few weeks. I'm curious to know which one is near landmarks and shopping?
A:
This hotel is walking distance to Navy Pier and Millennium Mile shopping. There are many great restaurants nearby as well. We used Uber to get to the Chicago Art Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry ( well worth a visit!)… more

We had a fantastic stay at the Embassy Suites! Our room was upgraded by the staff member at the front desk to a holiday suite and it made our stay so much more memorable, magical and special!!! I hope the staff member who checked us in knows how much it made our entire visit! We originally booked a room with a city view and our holiday suite absolutely had a stunning view for us, too.
The breakfast offered each morning was delicious! The pool was great and the pool area included a sauna and that was awesome too. The hotel was conveniently located. There was so much to like about staying here!
I would say like most hotels the bathroom could use some extra TLC. One of our folded towels was either dirty or stained and either way it really grossed me out. The tub portion of the shower looked a bit worn and dirty. And there was some mold growing on the ceiling above the shower.
Overall, this place was stunning with so many things to enjoy about staying specifically here. For me it comes down to this one question: would I suggest this place for family & friends traveling to Chicago? Absolutely yes I would and we'd stay here again on future visits.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lyndsay J.Vacaville, CA1314Mar 5, 2024
Terrible experience and will be making sure to emphasize how *NOT* family friendly it is to anyone who asks for hotel recommendations.
Check in/out was slammed- line all the way to the elevators. They were clearly understaffed and overwhelmed.
The crowd was loud and obnoxious. Many were there to party, and did not supervise their kids. The hallways and elevators reeked of weed.
The pool was so full of unsupervised kids that we couldn't swim for more than 10 minutes before I had to pull my kids out. My 3 year old was trampled by a large group of children on the pool steps.
The rooms were unimpressive and the pull out couch was incredibly uncomfortable. We called the desk several times to get more sheets, but after repeatedly getting no answer I finally had to walk down there and wait in a long line to ask someone in person.
The breakfast was packed full of people and our family had to squeeze in at a too-small table to eat mediocre buffet food, since the "made to order" line was so long.
Overall, the crowd of people was not conducive to a family environment, and it's obviously a popular party spot for people in/around the city.
Not worth what we paid and would not recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - S L.Dexter, MI82208138Feb 21, 2024Updated review
Arrived for a long weekend with my family. The hotel room was very aged and falling apart. The room was not stocked with towels - had to ask for more standard items.
Didn't feel safe in the hotel. A group of 5 boys followed me into the elevator and to my room. No security to be found.
Pool was consistently overcrowded. Other kids were not supervised and playing rough too close to my little kids. Day 2: even worse! Pool was freezing cold - my kid's face turned blue! Pool was even more crowded and teens again were in the deep end when they couldn't swim and one actually grabbed my 4 yr old little tube with her in it!! And there were NO TOWELS. Day 3: Even after reporting the pool issues to the desk staff it continued to be ice cubes - no improvement.
Breakfast was also crazy. 25+ min for an omelette. No place to sit. Day 4: After the rush went home the hotel brought out good items on the buffet - why wasn't I given these on the first days of my trip?
Evening drinks: We didn't get to use our vouchers since 35+ people were in line.
I'm definitely not staying here again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 17, 2024Previous reviewArrived for a long weekend with my family. Hotel room was very aged and falling apart. Room was not stocked with towels - had to ask for more of standard items.

We stayed a few weekends ago and I'm just getting to this review, but all around we unfortunately did not have a good stay. The room was dirty. There was food left on the ground from the previous guest. Even the lamp shades were disgusting.
To top it off, the bartenders are something else to say the least. For happy hour my wife and I would alternate getting drinks while the other stayed back with the kids. Every time I went up for a refill they would mark my card.
Every time my wife went up, they would just give her the drink without marking her card. While I appreciate sending my wife back up for the free drinks its a completely sexist move and quite frankly, unacceptable.
This didn't just happen the first night, but our entire stay.
The pool during our stay was also gross. There were chunks of hair on the pool deck and used band aides on the filter returns.
On a positive note, and the only one that I can think of right off, the parking structure was a breeze. While there isn't any diamond parking spots, it was still easy to get in, out and up to our rooms.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure we will ever be back to this particular hotel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angelina L.Kihei, HI0136Mar 24, 2024
Sergio in the omelet station has great energy and made my day! The inside of the hotel is filled with light which I love as well! They also have a sauna!

Like other downtown Embassy locations I've been to, check in is not available upon entry. You have to get on an elevator to the main lobby area. Check in took about 10 minutes because it was a bit busy but was seamless. We did not pay for a city or lake view but were placed in room 802 that had an AMAZING view. It was mostly a city view, but to the left you could also see the lake.
The elevators took a while sometimes but it wasn't too bad. The breakfast wasn't delicious but it was good enough. The evening reception was okay - the snacks were pretty basic (cheese, pretzels, old vegetables and ranch) and the bartenders weren't that friendly but very quick and dealt with the foot traffic expeditiously. Both the host at breakfast and the bartenders at the evening reception check for the vouchers given at check in.
The location is ideal for Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier attractions. Most ubers to main attractions were less than $10 and walking is an option.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 344452068Jan 12, 2024
In town for the Cubs Convention and this was our Thursday night spot. The hotel has a convenient self parking feature right next door. The hotel offers a pool, a Happy Hour, and breakfast. Although the hotel has many guests-the buffet is set up wonderfully with little to no waiting. This spot is a great location; a few blocks from the beach and close to many shops & restaurants.

location, superb - we were able to walk everywhere (the weather is the only deterrent at times). staff, extremely friendly and helpful - two drinks during happy hour EVERYDAY, who doesn't love that! Only but was with the room itself - it needed some loving (as pictured). overall, warm bed to rest after a long day of being a tourist in chitown. definitely recommend going through the rooms with a fine tooth comb and giving them the love this 5star deserves.

A pleasant stay here for 4 nights. I thought with the size of the hotel, the elevators would be an issue, but never had to wait long. The free breakfast and cocktail hour are great. Love the made to order eggs and cocktail options offered. Rooms are spacious, though there was a humming noise all night.
