'Most of the time I'm just Katie!' Katherine Heigl reveals the nickname she prefers in her personal life and explains 'it helps separate my work'
She's an A-list actress known for her roles in Grey's Anatomy, 27 Dresses, Knocked Up and Suits.
But, Katherine Heigl has revealed that she prefers to be called 'Katie' in her personal life, explaining: 'it helps me separate my work from me.'
While appearing on The Drew Barrymore show to promote her new Netflix series Firefly Lane, the actress, 42, admitted that she feels she has 'two women running around' inside her.

Speaking to Drew Barrymore show, she explained: 'No one calls me Katherine. It sounds much more sophisticated right? Like an adult named Katherine.
'It helps me separate my work from me if that makes sense. I just had to embrace it!'
'I think Katherine is so regal… and then Katie is like super cute and smiley. Do you feel like you have those two women running around inside you?' asked Drew
Katherine responded: 'I do. I do feel that way. I feel like I can present as Katherine when I need to but most of the time I am just Katie.'

Katherine's career in the entertainment industry began at a young age when she was signed as a child model to the Wilhelmina agency.
She made her film debut in 1992 and found her first starring role in the 1994 comedy My Father The Hero, working alongside Gérard Depardieu.
Heigl married Josh Kelley in 2007 after first meeting the singer while starring in his music video for Only You.
The couple has three children together: Nancy Leigh Mi-Eun, 12, Adalaide Marie Hope, 8, and Joshua Bishop, 4.

The mother-of-three recently opened up about what her private life in an interview with People.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Suits star has been spending the bulk of her time with her family, and said: 'In the 15 years we've been together or the 13 years we've been married, we have never spent this amount of time together.
'This has been an interesting experiment in romance, that's for sure,' she continued, adding that Josh built a 'hideaway' for them.

'Josh built this little shed in the backyard for us to go and hide, and it's been a real lifesaver,' the Grey's Anatomy star continued.
'We leave the kids, and we try to talk about each other and remember we're not just parents' she added.
She did admit that her husband, 'can be really annoying and I can be really annoying,' she still wants to, 'do life with my best friend.'
