Highlights

  • Act quickly to watch the John Wick Trilogy on Netflix before it leaves the platform on March 30.
  • The series revived Keanu Reeves' career and features iconic scenes, such as the subway station fight in Chapter 2.
  • The action-packed movies spawned sequels and will be available to stream on Peacock starting March 31.

Action movies are always worthy of multiple viewings, but unfortunately, a popular high octane action trilogy is leaving Netflix in the near future, as the streaming giant consistently replaces content each month. It's time for subscribers to catch up with the John Wick Trilogy before it leaves Netflix forever. Chad Stahelski's 2014 movie was a sleeper hit, and exceeded all expectations, making a significant impact at the box office, and spawned three successful sequels, a successful prequel miniseries and an upcoming spin-off movie called Ballerina.

The John Wick franchise revived Keanu Reeves' action movie career, and re-established him as one of the best in the business. He performed his own stunts and portrayed the title character as a tortured anti-hero that audiences couldn't help but root for, as he sought revenge on the people who killed his dog. This led to more issues for the titular character in the sequels, as he came face to face with an onslaught of evil villains.

The John Wick Movies are leaving Netflix

Keanu Is John Wick

Fans of the John Wick series must act quickly if they want to catch the original trilogy, as Netflix are removing it from their platform in the near future. The original trilogy is widely regarded as one of the best action trilogies of all time, and it was followed up by the critically acclaimed John Wick: Chapter 4 in 2023. Keanu Reeves' professional killer appeared to die in the planned fourth movie, before John Wick 5 was officially announced, with fans eager to find out if and how John Wick survived.

The first three John Wick movies will move from Netflix to Peacock in March. On February 22, Peacock revealed its list of new titles they were adding to its lineup, with confirmation that the John Wick trilogy would debut on the NBC Universal streaming service after it leaves Netflix.

The Most Memorable Scenes From the First 3 John Wick Movies

There have been many memorable scenes from the John Wick series, with each movie upping the ante to create more outlandish action than the previous entry, featuring some of the best fights in the series. Arguably the most memorable scene from the first John Wick movie is when the eponymous hitman showcases his particular set of brutal skills in the now iconic nightclub scene.

Wick is tracking down Viggo's son, Iosef Tarasov (portrayed by Alfie Allen) as revenge for killing his dog, and kills a number of people who stand in his way in a visceral and violent showdown. There are stabbings, shootings and one on one combat that make this scene a memorable takeaway from the first movie. The scene ends with John Wick killing Iosef, setting up a final showdown with his father, Viggo.

John Wick: Chapter 2

The best scene in John Wick: Chapter 2 is the battle that sees John Wick fight his way through a New York City subway station. Wick dispatches a bunch of assassins on route to the station, and embarks on a big fight with Cassian (portrayed by Common), who is on his tail because Wick killed the woman he was charged with protecting as her bodyguard.

They shoot at each other through a fountain, through a busy crowd of people, until the battle reaches a crescendo inside a moving subway.

John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum

john wick 3 final sequence

John Wick: Chapter 3 takes things to another level with some legendary action sequences and brutal kills. But the epic final battle at the Continental is probably the most memorable in the movie, and in the series as a whole. The Continental was always billed as the safe haven for assassins, but all the rules are broken in the third movie, when John Wick takes on his nemesis, Zero (played by Mark Dacascos) inside the famous hotel.

It's great to see Charon (played by the late Lance Reddick) get an opportunity to showcase his action skills, as he backs up John Wick in the brutal fight scenes, and the sequence and movie ends with Winston's non-fatal shooting of John Wick, giving him the opportunity to escape and set up the events of John Wick Chapter 4.
