Make sure you’re locked and loaded, John Wick fans, because the third chapter in the assassin saga is coming to your home. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is getting ready to rumble in the Blu-ray and digital arenas, so get ready. The third installment in Keanu Reeves‘ adrenaline-fueled franchise was another major success, outgrossing the previous two installments at the box office and taking John Wick from a cult favorite to a certified worldwide blockbuster.
The film once co-stars Wick mainstays Ian McShane and Lance Reddick and features the return of Randall Duk Kim, Laurence Fishburne, and Tobias Segal. Newcomers for Parabellum include Halle Berry, Asia Kate Dillon, Anjelica Huston, and–a special treat for comedy fans–Jason Mantzoukas as “Tick Tock Man.”
If you’re one of the few JW fans that missed this bloodbath in theaters, you’ll soon get another chance to ride with Wick. The film’s coming to home video, and here’s everything you need to know about the release.
When will John Wick 3 be released digitally?
John Wick 3 will be available to purchase digitally on Friday, August 23. The film will be available on all major digital video storefronts, so pick your platform and pre-order John Wick 3 in Apple, Amazon, Vudu, and Google Play. Note that Amazon lists John Wick 3‘s release date as August 27 while Apple and the official press release from Lionsgate lists August 23. Not sure why they’re different, but you can probably trust the movie studio over Amazon.
When will John Wick 3 be available to rent digitally?
If you don’t want to pay full price to permanently add John Wick 3 to your digital movie library, you can rent the film for a fraction of the cost. That release date has not been officially announced yet, but digital rental availability almost always coincides with a film’s Blu-ray release date. With that in mind, it’s likely that you’ll be able to rent John Wick 3 on September 10.
Additionally, John Wick 3 will be available on demand beginning on September 10.
When will the John Wick 3 Blu-ray be released?
As mentioned above, you’ll be able to own a physical copy of John Wick 3 on September 10. The film will be released in a number of formats. You can choose from either the 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack (also includes Blu-ray and a digital copy), the Blu-ray Combo Pack (also includes DVD and digital), or the DVD version.
Note that if you’re considering buying John Wick 3 digitally on August 23, you’ll be able to get a digital copy with the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray releases if you’re fine with waiting until September 10.
When is John Wick 3 coming to DVD?
John Wick 3 will be released on September 10. If you want to have the best of three worlds, you can buy the Blu-ray Combo Pack and get a DVD copy, a Blu-ray copy, and a digital copy of John Wick 3.
The DVD will only include some of the special features available on the Blu-ray and digital versions (see below).
What special features will be included?
The John Wick 3 home video release will include close looks at the killer ballerinas, Shinobi, and the Bowery King as well as making-of featurettes about the horse chase sequence and “dog-fu” fight scene. There will also be a spotlight on editing with editor Evan Schiff and director Chad Stahelski. When will John Wick 3 be available on Netflix?
If you’re hoping to be able to stream John Wick 3, you’re most likely out of luck. Since neither John Wick nor John Wick: Chapter 2 are streaming anywhere, it’s extremely likely that the case will be the same for John Wick 3. Don’t plan on streaming John Wick 3 on Netflix, Hulu or Prime Video.
When will John Wick 3 be available on HBO?
However, John Wick 3 may make its way to HBO and be available to stream on HBO Go. You’ll have to wait a while for that, though. How long? Looking back at John Wick: Chapter 2, 253 days passed between its theatrical release date and it being added to HBO. If that’s the case for John Wick 3, then it’ll debut on HBO sometime around January 25, 2020.
