heath h I was okay with the overall reenactment feel of the movie, but I was irritated that quite a few obvious items should have been edited out to at least try to make it feel and look authentic. The story is set in the 60's, but John Hartman must be a time traveler from the look of his truck's registration sticker and in other scenes you can clearly see modern vehicles in the background as well as places they shouldn't be. At least some of the actors tried their best to make it believable. One thing I'm pretty certain of is that one day this movie will become a cult classic. Just give it some time. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/14/22 Full Review Audience Member I loved this movie. I was on a low-budget big foot kick and came across and watched Something in the Woods. Yeah it's low budget, but I like that. It's authentic and it has refreshingly normal characters. It's not slick or polished; there isn't a lot of gun-play; there's no sex and no foul language. There is a functional family; a dramatization of a real case; believable characters played by pretty good actors (some better than others); and behavior that is worth emulating. I like that it is not Hollywood and that I don't recognize the actors from ten other films. I guess I've watched it six times - it's a film I can go to now and then when I don't feel like searching for something new. Good flick to watch with kids - a little suspenseful and the behavior of the characters is real. Lot's of opportunities to say what would you do in that situation? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member To be fair, I had to stop this about 20 minutes in. The acting and dialogue made everything feel bad, and not the kind of bad I usually like to watch. This felt Riff Traxx bad, where the movies are almost universally worse without some snarky commentary in the background. STILL, I didn't get very far into it, so maybe it got better? I'll never know... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review bon z It was not a bad movie, just ok. It was kind of amateurish looking. And why if they were supposed to be in Washington state, did most everyone have a southern accent? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretttttttyyyyyy pretttttttyyyyy terrible Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Iâ(TM)m surprised to say I really enjoyed this film! I guess itâ(TM)s the film snob in me feeling a little defensive, because you really canâ(TM)t call this film slick or highbrow in the least. But when every new movie is layered with slickness and gloss of one kind or another, a film like this one stands out and just feels like a big relief. Itâ(TM)s focus is on the story, which is a little odd. There are no clever twists, just the presentation of an actual Bigfoot experience. The costumed creatures are just odd enough to keep them from appearing hilarious. The cast is for the most part good! Thereâ(TM)s a sense of amateurishness which pervades everything about the film, but again... I actually find it refreshing. The post sync work is horrible and the soundtrack very unimaginative. Certainly the film could be improved in so many ways, but Iâ(TM)m rooting for these folks! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
