Still poppin' Xans, 2019
Pour up the lean, got me stuck in a dream (Lean)
Started hittin' licks back in 2014 ('14)
I got the ice on me, drippin' CELINE (CELINE)
Flawless came in off a hun' (Hun')
Me and my niggas still drippin' for fun (Yeah, we drippin')
Been knew I was the one (One)
Still got niggas on the run, yeah (On the run, yeah)

[Verse 1: Lil Mosey]
I got these diamonds, my chain swang

My young niggas pull up and shoot like the Magic (Prrt)
[Chorus: Lil Mosey]
Still poppin' Xans, 2019
Pour up the lean, got me stuck in a dream (Lean)
Started hittin' licks back in 2014 ('14)
I got the ice on me, drippin' CELINE (CELINE)
Flawless came in off a hun' (Hun')
Me and my niggas still drippin' for fun (Yeah, we drippin')
Been knew I was the one (One)
Still got niggas on the run, yeah (On the run, yeah)

[Verse 2: Gunna & Lil Mosey]

Last weekend I was in Milan (Milan)
You niggas ain't did what I done, yeah
We fuck in the rise of the sun (Sun)

About

Genius Annotation

Released on September 17, 2019, as the second single from his second studio album Certified Hitmaker, “Stuck in a Dream” became one of Seattle rapper Lil Mosey’s biggest hits to date. The track features fellow rapper Gunna and production from frequent Mosey collaborator Royce David. The song’s lyrics address Mosey’s blinged-out lifestyle and drug usage, with the “dream” being the result of taking xanax and lean. Lil Mosey later addressed his drug usage:

I don’t take drugs no more. Xanz, drugs in general, just be killing people. That shit just, mentally and physically, is not good for you. It’s just putting people in bad ways of how they think and I just seen it happen to a lot of people. So, I’m just trying to figure shit out before it’s too late.

“Stuck in a Dream” peaked at #62 on the Billboard Hot 100, spending a total of 4 weeks on the chart. A music video for the song premiered on September 17, 2019, the same day as the song’s release.

I was in Atlanta at the time for a while. I was just in my hotel room and Royce was like, “I got this fire beat. You probably fuck with that.” I’d already had some shit written and it was that type of style. And then, when we he started playing that beat, we just set up the mic. You know in a hotel room where the t.v’s at and shit, they always got the little table thing. Here, we had his computer right there, and then up here there’s a little shelf, and we just stacked the ice box, the ice chest thing, and then a book or something. And then just, put the cord on that shit, and just hung it from there. And I made it tall enough for me. And I don’t know, we just figured it out. We used some random shit, like the clock, just hung it up on there. Had the mic just sitting there. Just went crazy in the hotel.

Since me a Royce been working from the start, and I basically created my sound while I was working with him. I understand his side, and he understands my side more than anybody else. So I feel like we just have the best chemistry.

I focus on the melody first. So I focus on the melody before that, before the lyrics and that. I just, really get into the lyrics afterwards, because the melody to me is the most important part. It’s what everybody likes, it’s what everybody falls in love with. I was trying to show off a little more of my writing skills and stuff. I was rapping faster and stuff. So I was doing a little more writing. I wasn’t really free styling. A lot of times I’d be punching in, and free styling and stuff. But I wrote that shit for real.
