After hearing good things about this hotel, we decided to spend a couple of nights for our first wedding anniversary. Me and my partner were expecting good things, but the hotel by far exceeded our expectations.
Upon arrival, as we arrived early, the lovely receptionist Lotfi, gave us our wristbands so we could relax and enjoy a drink until our room was ready. Our room was ready 2 hours before normal check in time, and they had kindly upgraded us to a sea-view room and decorated it beautifully with flowers.
If you are worried about travelling during Covid-19, then do not fear, the hotel is very clean with hand sanitising stations everywhere. Cleaners working tirelessly cleaning all areas of the hotel throroughly. With all members of staff all wearing masks, and all tables at a suitable distance from each other.
All members of staff were amazing and so friendly, and treated us like royalty. A special mention to Mounir the head barman at the lobby bar for putting a bottle of champagne and snacks in our room to go back to on the night. Also to Rafik (Lobby and swim up pool bar) , from arrival he was so friendly and made me a 'special cocktail' which was not on the menu, and continued to be excellent throughout our stay. Also, the receptionist Lotfi helped my partner arrange for some flowers to be delivered the night of our Anniversary which was lovely.
The hotel was obviously not very full, but the animation team worked well to get everyone up and involved and were so friendly and took their time to go around talking to people and getting to know them which is a lovely touch. Because of the low numbers at the hotel, they didnt get enough people to join in with all the set activities. But we managed to play archery one day with 'Larry', who made us all laugh and got everyone involved. Other special mentions to SouSou and another animation girl (so sorry I forget her name) and Dali the DJ for continuing to stay cheerful and get everyone involved dancing at the disco or joining in with the music quiz on night.
The animation team also helped with the suprise flowers for me and put on a 'romantic song' to dance to, so my partner could suprise me.
In the restaurant they decorated our table with flowers and even made us a cake!
We had such a lovely time, and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back!

We visited this hotel for a weeks break between 23rd to 30th June, firstly the staff are so welcoming and from the reception staff to the pool bar staff everyone of them go above and beyond, we had a large room with balcony on the 4th floor which was cleaned daily and decorated beautifully.
The pool area is always spotless with a team of cleaners every morning and the pool bar staff, we became friends with Ahmed and fakhiri who looked after us from the moment we arrived walking round with bottles of water, cocktails and beer which were all brilliant.
We decided to use the hotel towels which you purchase a towel card at the start of the holiday for 20 dinar each and swap as many times as you like.
On Saturday we had a foam party which was excellent music is on most days but especially for this afternoon, there were plenty or nationalities in the hotel but everyone we spoke to were so friendly.
There are activities on every day from darts to zumba to pool fitness.
The food is varied with toasties, fresh crepes and fruit or warm breakfast options, lunch was our favourite with plenty to eat pizza, pasta, toasted burgers, grilled chicken, sausage , dinner was themed on some evenings and although we didn't always like everything we always found something to eat.
We saw a few of the evening shows which were good but definitely pack the mosquito spray as they seemed to take a liking to us when we sat out.
The spa facilities are lovely, my partner had a full Turkish bath which he said was excellent, I had a full body massage and it was the perfect start to my holiday.
Overall it was a perfect holiday and it was our 1st time to tunisia but it will not be our last and hope to visit this hotel again.

This hotel is amazing, the moment we stepped off our transfer the staff were out to greet us and take our luggage into reception, so warm and welcoming. Check in was easy,our room was not quite ready so we were shown to the restaurant to get some lunch. After lunch we were shown to our room ( 4075 ) a lovely spacious room overlooking the pool and sea, it was perfect. We stayed all inclusive and the variety of food did not disappoint, lots of selections to choose from. The pool had a swim up bar, plenty of sun loungers available around the pool, but early in the morning you would witness the sight of people leaving towels on the beds. We preffered to settle on the loungers on the beach no extra cost which is great, crystal clear cool water and lifeguards everywhere. We felt really safe leaving our stuff on the loungers as we headed off for lunch or drinks.
Around the hotel there are plenty of shops selling everything from bags,tshirts and souvenirs but be prepared to be taken into every shop by the owners they can be very persistant but a polite “ no thank you” usually does the trick. They are lovely people who would do you no harm at all, most of the time they just want a friendly chat. The Medina ( Marina) is about a 20/30 min walk from the hotel, but there are plenty of taxis around and horse drawn carriages if you dont fancy walking. The Marina area is full of expensive looking yachts, restaurants and shops.
Around the hotel there are plenty of shops selling everything from bags,tshirts and souvenirs but be prepared to be taken into every shop by the owners they can be very persistant but a polite “ no thank you” usually does the trick. They are lovely people who would do you no harm at all, most of the time they just want a friendly chat. We had an amazing time,
The staff are so friendly and welcoming.
We had a pleasant check in with welcome drinks and our luggages were bought to the room.
The lady at the conceirge was fabulous in helping us with a birthday surprise.
The waiters and chefs are pleasant and friendly, always engaging with us.
The waiter Oussama is also amazing, he always got our table ready with a highchair, knew what drinks we want without asking, the table was always set for us. His customer service, friendliness and banter made they stay at the hotel even more pleasant. He is an asset to the hotel and because of him, I would return and stay at iberostar averroes again.
The food was lovely, they had different varieties and local cuisine.
The rooms get cleaned everyday.
However we did find a cockroach one evening in the bathroom and mosquitos, which we reported to the reception.
There is a fridge in the room and on request they can provide a kettle if needs be.
Theres entertainment every night and occasionally a party at the lobby.
Theres couple of corner shops by the hotel and you can get a taxi or horse carriage ride to the medina or walk it there which takes about 15mins.
Overall the stay was pleasant

Can thoroughly recommend this hotel. Good location at the end of the Jasmine beach with bars, restaurants, marina and touristy medina a short walk away. Stayed all inclusive and food was very good, good selection of local and international dishes. Start of season só the pool bar and barbq were not open, leaving just the lobby bar open, but included drinks selection and service good. The al la carte restaurant serves Tunisian food but only open Sat and Sun evening-limited choice but waiter service rather than buffet which makes a nice change. Entertainment provided every night in the bar, and throughout the day too for those interested, pretty basic schedule but ticks the boxes. Staff all very friendly and service orientated. On the downside we had a room near the lift which is very noisy from 7am when breakfast run starts. Also if booking a taxi or car for the day shop around, we asked at reception and were quoted a much higher price than the lady on the customer services desk and local taxis. Suggest a half day trip to Hammamet Medina (12 dinar taxi one way) and full days trips to Tunis/Carthage (180 dinar private car) and El Jem/Sousse (220 dinar private car). Local taxi to airport is 70 dinar (120 if booked via reception).

What an amazing hotel, staff and room! We had the beach and pool view and this did not disappoint, the room was always clean and tidy, the service from the hotel staff was brilliant, they always went above what they needed to, they ensured that there was Soya milk available for my little girl and the head waiter Mohammad (who may I add was absolutely amazing, he always made sure i knew exactly what my little girl could have and made sure that she never missed out on having sorbet if we wanted it for her). The animation team again were fantastic, especially Sarra, Simo and Tom who were brilliant with my little girl Francesca, she loved going to the mini disco they had on for the children, they were also very engaging with us and made sure that we were having a good time and showed a genuine interest in what we were doing and how we were finding our stay.
The only thing i would say this hotel could be better at doing is to be more accommodating to people with allergies, maybe provide soya, oat or almond milk at breakfast without the guests having to ask for it, offer alternatives when things like mashed potato and chips are provided that contain butter, maybe have an option that doesnt so that people with an allergy can then have it.
Other than that one improvement this hotel is overall amazing, the staff are incredibly friendly, it is very clean and in a great location, literally a 20 min walk from the marina.

Firstly, the hotel was spectacular and only a short transfer on a pleasant air conditioned coach. We were greeted with immediate check in, wrist bands and sent to the restaurant for lunch whilst they took our luggage up to our room. Waiter in there was so attentive and ensured we had drinks and we never had an empty glass again! Special mention to mohamed in reception who after a glitch with our room ensured we had exactly what we paid for and had a fruit platter sent up, the house keepers were so attentive leaving lovely towel arrangements, flower petals and bows in curtains. The food was outstanding and the hospitality world class. Our waiter in the fleur de lys bar was an amazing young man named Houssem. He remembered all our drinks and we never had to order them from then on. He was such a happy soul, always smiling and clearly was an exceptional host. Our drinks always arrived immediately we sat down and glasses were never empty again. A theme in this stunning hotel. Finally at the pool which was exceptional the lifeguards and pool waiters were also incredibly attentive. Not once did we have to fight for sun beds. There were several enjoyable pool activities daily and for children lots of fun things with the star team. Evening entertainment was also very good. This hotel is in the top two I’ve ever stayed and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay somewhere beautiful, where you’re treated like a VIP every day with no expectations and enjoy lovely food and drink. World class hosts and just outstanding

All the staff at the hotel were amazing and nothing was to much trouble for them. From the restaurant staff to the entertainment team and life guards Always had a smile on their faces, chatty and made us feel welcome
there was lots to do all day including darts archery bowls water aerobics and they even had a cocktail party with a reggae singer and a pool party which all the family enjoyed
Theres music on throughout the day by the pool. There's always something for everyone to do if they want to. I enjoyed sunbathing but my husband and children joined in the games. And there's entertainment on every night

Firstly, our experience was sold to us by On the beach using stock photos of when the hotel was new. The hotel is now twenty odd years old and basically in need of refurbishment. On the beach also quoted for a junior suite which looked better than the standard room we ended up with but have not answered our many complaints to date, as we still got charged for the junior suite price. The reception staff were not too helpful with our dilemma and told us to take it up with the On the Beach rep who obviously didn't exist. Enough about on the beach I wouldn't want to travel with them again even if I was stuck on a desert island, back to the hotel as stated the hotel is as bit dated and the stock photos are not a good representation of what to expect from the rooms or communal areas. Bathrooms need replacing and furniture is past it's best. the carpets in the corridors are threadbare and the windows and doors are definitely in need of replacing. Not what we expected from a top brand such as Iberostar, you can see that there has been little investment in the property although the cleaning staff work tirelessly to keep standards as high as possible. As for the rest of the staff we couldn't fault their dedication. The waiting staff were on the whole very attentive and orchestrated by excellent mangers who were friendly and very helpful. The chefs were very accommodating and if you asked for something which was not in the buffet, they would try to cook it for you straight away chicken and chips, burgers, whatever you wanted was never too much trouble. We couldn't praise them enough. We found the Bar staff very efficient although the pool bar was a bit strange, it only really catered for people in the pool if you were just sunbathing you had to wait on the steps to be served. So, the pool bar should be reconfigured to cater for all guests rather than just the few people sitting on seats at the swim up bar. The beach had no bar so if you wanted a drink, it was a bit of a trek going to the pool bar, there was a waiter service, but it was a bit of a lottery maybe once a day. The entertainment staff are great and try to involve everyone Tom, Nadir, Simon and Sarah were all great and very friendly, thank you for making us welcome. The entertainment was OK but repetitive if you stay two weeks. The entertainment didn't start until late either (kids disco 21.00 for 20 minutes then adult entertainment from around 21.45 for an hour) if you had your meal early you were invariably too bored or too tired to wait around for it.
This could be great hotel with some investment in the building. Staff are on the whole brilliant which is what I think most reviews focus on.
My advice to Iberostar would be to invest in the hotel and the staff as they are what seem to keep people returning, this will not last forever unless you address the issues. The building was once very good as can be seen in the stock photos and past reviews so would not take too much effort to bring it up to date. You have some excellent staff who would improve any hotel with their customer service skills, keep them happy and your business will be in good hands, they are your biggest asset.
This could be great hotel with some investment in the building. Staff are on the whole brilliant which is what I think most reviews focus on.

Having read many of the positive reviews of this hotel prior to booking we were very much hoping it would live up to the reviews and our expectations but sadly it did not for the following reasons;
The hotel is spacious and generally well maintained and clean, bedrooms are a bit dated but very spacious with aircon and have everything you really need but tea and coffee making facilities would be a welcome addition.
Gardens and grounds and the private part of beach they lead out to are well maintained but the parasols in both areas are fixed and too small so you are constantly having to move sunbeds to avoid the heat at the hottest part of the days.
Food - spacious restaurant with aircon inside or outside tables. Waiter service was reasonably attentive but even with regular tips they had a tendency to leave you with your wine and water once settled and didn't top your glasses up and were often slow to remove used plates when you needed the space for your next course.
All inclusive food was generally tasty and well prepared but compared to other all inclusives we have stayed at the choice was very samey and repetitive. Also disappointed to discover that the barbecue restaurant near the pool is really nothing of the sort and really just an extension of the main restaurant but with less choice so onlu ate there once.
House wines were of very average quality and the quality of the coffee from the machines at breakfast very poor.
Our main issue with the hotel though was with the bars. The quality and availability of drinks was very poor. Mojito cocktails were never the same twice irrespective of what bar they came from and this is the first time we have stayed in any hotel ( let alone a supposed 4 star one) and been told we couldn't have a gin and tonic due to lack of tonic!!
The first time I complained I was told there was no tonic in Tunisia...utter nonsense as all of the shops within a five minute walk of the hotel had it in abundance. We got our gin and tonics only for the same issue to arise two nights later.. and so had to complain again....just not good enough!
Gin and tonic was also never available from the pool bar in spite of it being listed on the drinks list as part of the all inclusive package. If you ordered it the bar staff gave you gin n lemonade instead.
I suspect that Iberostar are trying to save money by limiting the amount of schweppes tonic ( a chargeable extra on the all inclusive bar menu) available to guests, but whatever the reason they really need to sort their act out as it leads to bar staff and waiters being put into an awkward situation with dissatisfied guests.
So on the whole we had an enjoyable and relaxing 10 days in the sun.
The staff are on the whole very friendly and work hard to make the guest experience as good as possible, but based on our experience Iberostar themselves have some work to do to turn this hotel from the good 3* it is into the 4* it claims to be.

You will able to swim at the sea
Yes there is a heated swimming pool
Pool is baltic, never known one as cold before all day. Yes pool bar is open from 10.30 am, however the sun goes in around the pool about 4pm then you have to take drinks up and down to the 9th floor were there is another bar but wasn't open during our stay apart from one night and wasn't included on all inclusive, sun is lovely to watch set from up there at about 6.30pm enjoy
I assume as it is an Islamic country that the food is halal but I would email them to be sure.
They do have sugar free drinks, and an in door pool. I would definitely recommend all inclusive
