Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is a well-regarded destination for its stunning location and exceptional service, with staff members earning praise for their attentiveness. The hotel's atmosphere strikes a balance between lively entertainment and serene relaxation, complemented by its tasteful decor. While some guests find the value debatable due to costly upgrades, many agree that the amenities—including the pristine pools and diverse dining options—are worth the investment, despite occasional room service delays. Rooms are celebrated for their comfort and cleanliness, although there have been occasional maintenance concerns. Cleanliness throughout the resort is consistently commended.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed in the last 6 months and we booked to come back. We have traveled the world cruising and all inclusive and hotels but this is a very special place. First it’s still quite new. I believe about 4 years ago it was completed. It’s very well kept and has so many options. Zilara is all adult and next to Ziva which is family. As an adult you can go anywhere on property.

What really set this place apart is the service. It’s 10 Star!! The people go out of their way to make sure you have the best and most “excellent” experience. This is true in your room with housekeeping, the bars like the Reef pool bar or momentum or the club bar, the restaurants, your club concierge/butler if you have one and the staff and management. Our room was immaculate and perfect (Thank you Yanaris and Altagracia). They have turn down service as well. Snacks and coffee machine. Great supplies and plenty of towels.

The staff live, breath, and love to make you smile and not just for a tip but for you to have the best experience ever!

Hyatt treats the staff very well. All the staff praises them as the best company they have worked for and it shows in how they take care of their guests. A special model where every part of the staff says hello, crosses their heart, and always when asked tells you they are excellent and if they can help you.

As we were there three times in 6 months staff all over recognized us and remembered us. Not just our face. Our drinks, how we like, our extra towels in the room, a friendly face at a restaurant or bar that smiled, hugged, went out of their way to welcome their family back to our home. If you want to go somewhere that is like being at home and yet being treated so special Zilara and Ziva are it!

We experienced the best meals. We tried the Blind Butcher which was over the top. Journeys we knew the chef Mukesh and he made incredible meals. Incredible fresh Mongolian, Italian, steak house and so much more.

Vanessa who we later found out is the club supervisor cares about her staff and all her guests. She was SO helpful to us for even purchasing club and her staff can’t say enough about her and we understand why!! She helped us to upgrade our room and even extend our room during our stay. Larisa our club concierge we had for the second time was amazing and so sweet. Only a text away and so wonderful.

All the staff at the pool are incredible. The list is too long. Yanette who makes sure to always have a smile and welcome people to the pool and go as far as getting you setup with towels or whatever she can do to make your stay wonderful. Speaking of towels at many other places you can take one or two. Here there are always Plenty!!

All the reef bar staff and all the staff everywhere is amazing. I could go on and on with names but the fact we can list some here will tell you they are special. They service on at the pool area, in the pool, on the beach.

The reef staff (some listed below) led by Fernando a well experienced supervisor that they all love and work hard for is the best and I apologize for leaving names off but if you go you will see professionals at work with a smile to serve you.

The staff at the one eyed cat bar is special. Jayron can make the best drink you ever had. Juan at the sports bar amazing service.

The food was about as good as it gets for all inclusive! The entertainment was amazing as well from music to magic to things for the kids and family. For those sports fans the NFL playoff games were on!

We can’t say enough about this special place. Beautiful beach, beautiful pools, the very best staff!! If you want an experience and not just a vacation, this is the very best. We have done other all inclusive and ones in Punta Cana that are high end and they don’t compare.

Even the people that brought out our luggage as we left remembered us from a prior trip and welcomed us. The people in the Buffett that cooked remembered us and always ask what they can get you.

Everyone we spoke to that was there for the first time loved it and were impressed.

It was very busy this stay. They had many big groups there but two really big groups (one over 500 people and one after they left for over 1000). It makes it very busy but they handled it well!!

We already booked to come back again.

I would suggest if you can get club level for that extra special touch. It does offer premium alcohol in certain places but their alcohol is fairly premium to begin with. As to time of year. We have come in August, October, January. January seems popular for groups. August a little less busy but it is hot. There is a nice breeze most days especially on the water. They also have a great gym and work out facilities. Lots of equipment all by Matrix. Three different rooms to train and work out.

15 minutes from the airport this is a gem! So much to do so don’t debate it get out there and do it! There is a reason this has so many five star reviews!!

The hotel is stunning and again kept very clean. We felt safe, we felt welcomed, we felt pampered, we felt at home and we felt we were with family!! Family we will see again and again!

Pros:

Beautiful white sandy beach with palm trees offering shade.

Very clean and safe, hand sanitizers and masks are readily available and staff often takes your temperature before entering a restaurant.

One thing that stood out in a positive way immensely was the exceptional service. On day 3 most waiters, hostesses and general staff knew our names, room number and my mother's allergies by heart and we were greeted with big smiles and warm welcomes at all the restaurants and bars. A very special thanks to hostess Karen and our waiter Martin at Brando's, as well as hostess Paloma and Louis at the Pier buffet restaurant. At the beach waiters Boni, Roberto and Yonis were extremely attentive and fun to chit chat.

Food and drinks were top quality, however due to Covid there was a restaurant rotation for dinner and only the buffet was open for breakfast and lunch (unless you are a club guest).

Take a day to book yourself atreatment in the exceptional cenote-like spa (hydrotherapy, massage and pedicure were excellent) and go a few rounds in the lazy river at the waterpark behind Ziva, which is available for Zilara guests.

Cons:
The clientel was a little different from what I expected in such an expensive resort, often travelling in big groups and ignoring etiquette in Bars. (Standing in between tables chatting loudly, ignoring dress codes and smoking in non-smoking areas)

It was a rather loud hotel, not only due to constant DJ-ing at the pool and noisy shows at the theatre in the evening, but also due to construction and maybe the location of our room which was near the restaurant vents.

My friend and I stayed at the Zilara from Sept 5-12 of this year. From the time we set foot on the property they made us feel at home, and above and beyond taken care of from start to finish. During Covid due to limited capacity the restaurants and a few bars were on rotation but we were able to eat at every restaurant during the week and they were all amazing. The room we had was a ocean front suite and it was gorgeous. We utilized room service a few times and it was perfect for what we needed it for. I will say while reading some of the other guest reviews you can tell they were really trying hard to find fault with this resort. Everything was cleaned constantly, hand sanitizer was free flowing and you felt safe the entire time. I never felt unsafe at this resort. Security at the resort was always watching and making sure people were safe especially when they were solo. The restaurants were all fantastic some more than others but I would rate it as on par with all the cruises I have taken or better. Our favorite was Navigator which had seafood and steak options. This is where you will get your lobster! We went to the buffet twice and it was great..we even spoke with the manager and asked when they had crab legs and he made them magically appear fresh grilled for us we were in awe. The beach was perfect for walking and swimming they had free kayaks, paddleboards and a hobie cat to have you taken around or you could take it out yourself which was really great! The water park was fun and when not busy especially right now was awesome, The spa was the highlight the hydrotherapy pools were amazing and my Massage therapist Yolanda was great! Antonio at the Ziva pool bar took care of us all week and made it very memorable and made due we always had a drink or a bottle of water ready for us. Emmanuel at the One Eyed Cat was just on another level with all his drinks he made. Get the puple butterfly and you won't be disappointed! Chinola was a great healthy option for most meals and the gym while we didnt get in use was the best I have ever seen. I would say if you come here and don't feel amazed you lead a pretty sad life to be honest. I always felt taken care of and like my mind was being read sometimes with how quickly things came or happened there.

We chose to book a Club Level room, with the added extra amenities, and what a waste of money! We were told to return to the club lounge to meet our butler. Shouldn't they make the first contact, we decided that we didn't need a butler and never returned to meet them. The club lounge and club pool are open to everyone, you don't need a special key or identification to get in, and the staff never checked for the 6 days we were there, which defeats the purpose of paying for the club amenities.

The rooms are large, with well designed bathrooms, but please provide more than one pillow each, It didn't make for a very comfortable sleep, and not to be expected in a supposed 5 star hotel.

Housekeeping could be improved as it was very sporadic throughout the entire stay, somedays we got the room serviced and turndown and others we got neither. We traveled as a group and had 2 adjacent rooms, and they experienced the same, somedays they had the room serviced and we didn't.

Every restaurant offered great food, especially Journeys the Indian restaurant, Jason, ensured we ordered the correct amount of food, as the portions are quite small. We never experienced a bad meal. All the staff were friendly, but the language was sometimes a problem. The club pool bar staff, Noel, Rubi and I think Javier kept our drinks replenished every day. And Angel in Shutters restaurant ensured our day always started with a smile. Thank You!

We stayed over New Years, and the sales techniques for the New Years Eve party should have been more transparent!

All the staff are working hard to do their best, but it appears there is a lack of direction from management, or maybe all management were on vacation over the holiday period! With some direction and maybe the addition of more staff this hotel will deserve the 5 stars it claims to have.

This is our second visit to this luxurious tropical paradise and it definitely wont be the last. The staff and management really work hard and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay to the maximum. The food was excellent everywhere we went, probably the best quality that we have seen in any hotel we’ve been. We ate in five of the twelve restaurants and all were very impressive. The buffet was probably our favorite due to the wide selection of food. Staff were uniformly great. The grounds are immaculate. The beach was incredibly beautiful, white sand and the waters had an intense blue turquoise color. We had no trouble finding premium spots (beach or pool) with shade and there was very good WiFi everywhere, even in the rooms. The room was modern, comfortable, very spacious and had an amazing ocean view . There is a family resort right next to this one (Hyatt Zilara) and we may well come back with the kids. I would like to give special appreciation to Mr. Pedro Tomas and Mr. Hilario.

I just returned from the Hyatt zilara on 18 January from the moment you walk in you are truly a amazed by how beautiful this resort is. Check in was a breeze only took 15 minutes, the rooms were spotless and very very elegant, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the room whatsoever, The balconies were very big with a very comfortable ottoman to sit on. The restaurants were phenomenal, We did the Buffay every morning for breakfast and it did not disappoint we went to the Italian twice loved each time, went to the steakhouse which was truly amazing the cut of meats were perfect and the portions were more than enough, we did the hibachi restaurant called Tempas twice because it was the best thing we have ever eaten also in the tempest restaurant there is a part where you could do the Mongolian grill We did that on our second last day and wish we would’ve had time to go back again, the pizza at snack restaurant was the best pizza we have ever eaten beats pizza nova and pizza pizza hands-down.
The pools were a little chilly due to the wind but they had two smaller pools which were more heated like a hot tub but not as hot which was perfect. I want to give a shout out to Three main entertainment staff that made our trip once in a lifetime experience their names were Dario Edgar and Jose also known as yo-yo! They always had us laughing and entertained throughout each day!! They all deserve awards and much more for their incredible spirits and enthusiasm! They made the most of everyday to keep everyone happy! If they read this I want to say thank you again!! You made our trip!! The service around the pool for drinks was amazing, you didn’t have time to finish a drink before Yan or Junior or multiple others were asking If you needed another!! Top notch! Epifanin begins the pool bar is the best bartender you could ask for!! The nightly shows were good, the room service was quick and great! Coffee shop has good coffee and snacks. It was getting really busy the day we left as they said they were at 100 percent capacity so we were glad to be leaving! 10/10 would recommend this resort!

I’m currently here on my last day at the resort and I must say that I am very disappointed in the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana. Upon arrival I was in contact with someone at the resort almost every day because we were celebrating a birthday. Once we arrived birthday decorations were not setup in the room. I arranged for a private dinner on the beach the day of arrival for 7:30 PM. At 7:30 my spouse and I arrived on the beach and noticed that there wasn’t anything setup. I reached out to concierge and was informed that it was cancelled because it was too windy. Which was fine but the problem was that no one contacted me to let me know that it was cancelled. The customer service upon arriving was horrible. I was hung up on multiple times and at times couldn’t get in contact with anyone. The resort is extremely boring, I’m not sure if it is because it is a new resort but there is no entertainment whatsoever. If you’re looking to simply relaxing and that’s it then maybe this is the place for you. There is no music at the pool while laying out at the pool. The pools aren’t heated so which means the pools are extremely cold, like really really cold. I asked questions in regards to playing music at the pool or entertainment before I booked this resort and they told me yes to all of these things. I’ve been here for 5 days and only heard pool music once since I’ve been here. This is more of an resort for older people, not younger people. No one here speaks English, it’s hard to request anything. It takes an hour at time to receive a drink at the pool area. Your rooms don’t get cleaned until maybe 3 or 4 in the afternoon so if you’ve been out to the pool and just want to relax in a clean room, don’t look forward to it. I’ve been to Hyatt Zilara in Cancún and Jamaica and I enjoyed them both but I will never return to the Hyatt Zilara here in DR. Currently I’ve been waiting an hour right now for a drink, by the way no one has approached me to ask if I would like a drink. I’ve been getting up from my chair to walk to the bar.

The hotel is beautiful and brand new however it definitely is not a five star. We stayed the week of 1/14/2020. We had club level accommodations but you don't get much with that.
Pros:
New Resort
Beautiful beach
Food was good
Rooms were clean
Drinks were good at club level bars
Workers were very nice

Cons:
Cabanas should be included with club level, (129.00 per day)
No separate beach area for club level.
Club level rooms should be stocked daily with drinks and snacks
Workers need to learn better English.(especially wait staff)
Beach loungers and umbrellas are kind of cheap
Buffet food could have been better with more options

I would possibly return in the future if we got a really good deal. Hopefully they work out the kinks.

We’ve been reading the reviews and decided to use this resort for our wedding in March. This trip was set to do some planning and get to know the resort a little more. The expectations were very high for this trip. Every single expectation was exceeded by Hyatt Zilara. Check in process was seamless and the views from the lobby are everything you could hope to see when arriving for your vacation. Every guest is greeted with a specialty cocktail immediately upon arrival in which was a very nice touch. We were lucky enough to stay in an ocean front room which had all the amenities we could need with perfect views of the most gorgeous beach we have ever seen. Every detail was very well thought out at this resort, from the beach to the pools and every other corner of the property. There is plenty of space and seating to spread out and relax for couples and families. It is just beautiful, hopefully the photos we share here will speak for themselves. We enjoyed a few of the activities they had going on, but a major highlight for us were the included water sports like Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, and the small Catamaran. Every day they provide a ‘Z news’ sheet with all the activities listed like bingo, archery, rum tastings, ping pong, and so on. Most evenings there was live music and we LOVED that. Unfortunately the firepits were not up and running, so we look forward to enjoying those next time. Quick note about Ziva. It is so wonderful being able to access both resorts and enjoy both of them! We spent time at every pool and they are all perfect with great service. The water park is a lot of fun as well, even for adults. I actually bumped my elbow and when the lifeguard noticed I was bleeding he came over and cleaned everything up, gave me some bandaids, and made sure I was okay. It wasn’t anything serious, but we were very happy that he came over and did this without us asking or making a big fuss. With all of this being said, the service and the people who work at Ziva/Zilara are some of the most wonderful people and are putting forth their best efforts every single day to ensure every guest has a good experience. I thought it was cheesy when others were saying it, but they treated us like family and we can’t wait to go back! Every person at this resort is an expert in their craft, whether they are a bartender or in the entertainment department, etc. Listed below are some people that we found not only gave us amazing service, but also have incredible energy and are a pleasure to be around.

I just got back from my stay at the Hyatt zilara cap cana, and would say overall that it was a pretty mixed experience.

When we originally booked the room we were promised a sofa bed with a queen sized pullout couch, and when we entered the room this was not true. It was pretty difficult trying to resolve the issue due to the language barrier, and unfortunately it was never quite resolved and put an initial damper on our stay.

The room is nice, a bit basic with modern finishes but overall I would say it was nice. Just a note that if you are traveling with a friend the shower is not very private, so I'd be aware of that. Our mini fridge was restocked daily, with plenty of water bottles for both drinking and brushing teeth.

The pool was very large and had two good sized hot tubs as well. The poolside entertainment and service was great. Delfy, on the entertainment team, came by daily to ensure we were involved in fun activities. It was one of our friends birthday and he made sure she received a bottle of champagne and chocolates in our room so that she felt special. There was always something fun going on during the day, and the entertainment at night was pretty good too. One day there was even a paint and sip on the beach which I thought was pretty unique

Our waiter Boni also was great as well, and made sure we always had a drink in hand. .

The food was kind of hit or miss. The buffet had a lot of options, but often lacked a bit of flavor to take it to the next level. As for restaurants we really enjoyed Brando's, Waves, and Tempest. If you go to Tempest you HAVE to do the hibachi, so so good. We also really loved the coffee bar which also sold spiked coffee drinks of different varieties. The rest of the restaurants left much to desire. Journeys was just about the worse Indian food I've ever had, and Noodle and Thread pasta sauces were way too sweet. Navigators seafood tasted not as fresh as it could be.

Overall I would recommend, but I also want to note that though the resort is nice it doesn't really feel like you're in the Dominican Republic. It honestly felt like you could be anywhere, because there's nothing specifically unique to the culture that they have on the resort. So I would just say that it would be nice if they added in more cultural aspects to the experience so you feel that you're somewhere special.

Buffet was included. There were some menu items that were extra but generally 95% were all inclusive. If you like decent wine with your meal, be prepared to buck up

There is daily (evening) entertainment. the location of the venue is in between the resorts. Not really a loud party atmosphere at the Zilaria when we were there in early April. PS the quiet pool has higher quality liquor. You can read my review under "Wicto"

We did not do the Bline Butcher on our trip but it did look awesome! If we stayed longer i definitely would have done it and spent the extra money. We already had a jam packed itinerary. I can tell you that they go above and beyond in most areas of the resort so I imagine that would be worth it one night If you look at it like one of your excursions.
