It is hard to find an atmosphere, anywhere, that rivals what is found on Saturdays in the fall at college football stadiums all across the country. A big reason why the sport is among the nation’s most popular is the passionate fanbases who show up in droves to cheer on their teams each weekend from September through November.
While there was a college football season in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic kept millions of spectators away from the action. Sold-out crowds, typically a given for many of the country’s top programs, simply did not exist last season.
However, many athletic departments have announced plans for their stadiums to be at full capacity once the games kick off in 2021.
With that in mind, 247Sports compiled a list of the largest stadiums in terms of capacity. Scroll up for a look at the 25 largest college football stadiums in the country.
NOTE: College football programs who use NFL facilities as their home stadiums, such as the Pittsburgh Panthers and Miami Hurricanes, were not included on this list.
