A-listers in action! Kristen Stewart and John Legend lead list of celebrities lending their talents to music projects in aid of Planned Parenthood

  • 26-year-old Kristen is collaborating with Scottish band Chvrches
  • She has directed a musical piece in support of the organization
  • Meanwhile, singer John was pictured working on a new project for Planned Parenthood with comedian Zach Galifianakis and singer St Vincent
  • A source working on the projects hinted that Kristen's work and the image of the trio were linked

Actress Kristen Stewart is teaming up with a group of music stars on a project to support Planned Parenthood, which sees her taking a break from performing in front of the camera, in favor of the director's chair.

The 26-year-old actress revealed last week that she has directed a musical piece to spread the nonprofit's cause, for which she teamed up with Scottish band Chvrches.

And Kristen is not the only star to partner with the organization on a music-focused project; John Legend, singer St. Vincent - a rumored former flame of Kristen's - and comedian Zach Galifianakis have also been pictured together working on something which is believed to be linked to the Twilight star's directorial effort.

This isn't the first time the actress has publicly supported the organization. She was spotted among thousands of protesters during Park City's Women's March in January, carrying an 'I stand with Planned Parenthood' sign.

This time, she tapped into her directorial talents and reached out to Chvrches, after quietly admiring the synthpop trio for some time.

'I had been asking them to let me do something for them for a while,' Kristen told the LA Times.

'They're so good. I ended up with a pretty simple but definitive narrative arc that highlights the cause in a sweet but quiet and confronting way.'

On the same day as Kristen announced her upcoming project for Planned Parenthood, former Pitchfork editor Brandon Stosuy teased a similar-sounding initiative on Twitter, along with the photo of John, Zach and St Vincent - while hinting that the projects are linked.

'I'm working on something with Planned Parenthood. This is an image that gives part of the story. More soon,' he wrote.

Stosuy, who is now the editor-in-chief of artistic platform The Creative Independent, then shared a link to Kristen's LA Times interview, then suggested that it was related to the group shot.

'No info for now, but this has something to do w/ a photo of people i posted by a piano the other day,' Stosuy tweeted.

John was also one of the celebrities who joined the Women's March in Park City earlier this year, while his wife rallied in Washington, DC.

Kristen has been vocal about her disagreement with President Donald Trump's policies, which so far have included defunding International Planned Parenthood via an executive order in the early days of his presidency.

Trump has also described himself as pro-life and has pledged to appoint Supreme Court justices who could overturn the 1973 Roe v Wade decision affirming women's rights to have abortions under the Constitution.

The actress famously roasted the mogul during her SNL host gig last month, reminding the crowd of his string of endless tweets about her cheating scandal with Robert Pattinson.

Kristen has become more outspoken on the political front since Trump's move to the White House.

'I've never been the most politically charged person,' she told Variety in an earlier interview, ' but at this point, it's not political. It's f--king so humanitarian.'
