Bri Springs has got the future on her mind.
On Tuesday, the 24-year-old “Bachelor” contestant — who is currently vying for Matt James’ affections — joked about trying to get her job back as a communications manager, after revealing on Monday’s episode she had resigned from her post.
“Me on the phone trying to get my job back,” Springs posted Tuesday to her Instagram Story, according to Us Weekly, as she chatted poolside in a bikini.
Springs, who hails from San Francisco, is one of the final four contenders on Season 25 of “The Bachelor.” She joins publicist Serena Pitt, 22, teacher Michelle Young, 27, and the embattled Rachael Kirkconnell, 24, a graphic designer.
On Monday, Springs sat down with “Bachelor” James, 29, informing the commercial real estate broker she had to resign from her job in order to compete on the show.
“A few days ago, I did something really big. I had to resign from my position, um, to be here,” Springs said. “I knew that was a decision that I was gonna have to make, but… after weighing what this journey could mean for me, to give me that opportunity to find love with someone — with you, specifically — I thought it was worth it.”
She continued, “I knew it was gonna be a really hard decision. When I think about my mom, being a single mom, she had to make a lot of sacrifices for me to have a better life than what she had, and so my work wasn’t just a job to me. It felt like a dream. But being here with you… makes it feel extremely worth it.”
James then thanked Springs for opening up to him, adding, “I can only imagine how hard that was for you, and the fact that it means that you did that to be here with me is, like, everything.”
With hometown dates set to take place next week, it remains to be seen who will receive James’ final rose. When the time does come, however, part of this season’s finale will be without “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison.
On Saturday, Harrison announced he would be “stepping aside” from the franchise “for a period of time,” following a controversial interview with Rachel Lindsay, the first black “Bachelorette. During the interview, Harrison defended the alleged racist behavior of Kirkconnell, who has since issued an apology.
