Zoo Finale Recap: Who Died? What New Threat Awaits Possible Season 4?
You gotta say this about CBS‘ Zoo: it sure as hell knows how to set up a new season.
As the Season 3 finale got underway, the heroes had a multi-pronged mission — to power down all of the beacons worldwide while keeping Clem and her baby safe, so that Abe could administer the series of specifically-timed shots to cultivate the cure to human sterility.
All while, you know, processing the fact that Jackson is dad to a young man and never forgetting that awful, awful Abigail is still out there somewhere (since Jackson’s aim at close range with a big gun is so lousy).
As for the first task, Mitch got the idea to divert the power from every other beacon to the one in St. Louis, the thinking being that they were best outfitted to withstand a hybrid stampede. Mitch then gleaned that beacon was emitting two sonic wavelengths, one of which, Jackson observed, matches the one he uses to control animals. The gents surmised that if Jackson is “in sync” with one of the sonic waves, he (and he alone) might be able to get close enough to it to attach an override device.
Sure enough, though it took much doing (and nearly cost both him and Tessa their lives in the process), stalwart Jackson got the job done, allowing Mitch to power down that last beacon. The bazillion hybrids who had stormed and infiltrated the barrier in turn lost their fervor and became easy pickings for Abe, Dariela et al.
But while the hybrids were attacking, Mitch quietly arranged for Clementine and the still-unnamed baby to be whisked away from the barrier zone, by Logan. Alas, their truck got intercepted by winged hybrids who plucked out, chewed up and spat back onto the front hood a very dead Logan. And as Clem scrambled to protect the baby and maybe get the truck started back up, she got KO’d by — who else! — that awful, awful Abigail.
Back at the barrier, one of the soldiers was mourning a fallen K-9 colleague when the fatally bitten pooch suddenly sprang to life, as a feral hybrid, and mauled his handler. Hybrid bites are infectious for common animals?!?!? And that could be a thing if the hybrids managed to penetrate the barrier and roam the eastern half of the country. But surely that could never happen, right?
Wrong. Because Abigail phones her brother to say that the price for the baby’s return (and thus the reversal of human sterility) is the hybrids’ freedom. And without consulting anybody, Jackson taps away at the jet’s control tablet and sets it on course for the barrier. As Jackson does so, there is some fast and furious debate between him, Mitch, Jamie (who is teary over the Logan news), Abe, Dariela, Clem and Tessa, with much finger-pointing about who’s to blame for this new predicament. But with no less than human extinction being on the table, Jackson quotes back to Mitch, “One problem at a time…,” as the jumbo jet plows through the barrier, setting the stage for a hybrid-filled Season 4 — if the show gets renewed.

I’m sorry but this season and finale were so disappointing to me. It stopped being fun and just got tiring. And Abigail was the worst!
I agree. On the whole this season stunk. no matter what anyone does Abigail is going out on top constantly. It’s annoying.

Had you give them a chance to start the 4th season, she may have died and or brother and sister go against each other but everyone is so quick now days to just give up on things and not give them a chance…… I understand Opinions are opinions but when it comes to a TV show just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean you should sit there and badmouth it because not every director wants to give you everything at once they wanna sit there and make you watch to find out what happens next just like The Walking Dead but I guess people are so quick to just give up and not give things a chance just like humanity and the way people discipline their kids nowadays because it’s abuse…..
I agree 100% I’ve made up my mind three-quarters of the way through the finale that if Abigail was still alive at the end of it I was done with this series just the same thing over and over and over again how many damn times do you have to be screwed by somebody before you realized to kill her and get it over with.

I said that about The Walking Dead and Andrea, yet I am still a devoted dead head. Zoo has me and I am telling all my dead head friends that this is the animal equivalent, they have the cast they just need to beef up the writers. No other villain but Neegan has pissed me off as much as Abigail.
Just watched the series on Netflix and I cannot believe there was no ending. What a waste.

I enjoyed the season but can somebody just kill Abigail already. She’s just annoying.
They really should have ended this storyline. Season 2 did it well in that regard where they cured the animals but started a new storyline in the process. I do think Abigail has reached the limit of tolerance with regards to her character. Jackson needs to break her neck and now we will likely never get to see it given the likelihood of cancellation.
I agree. I can’t comment on anything after the first episode of this season, just stopped being a fun summer show for me after the animals were cured and I really wanted to like this season. For me this show went the way of The Dome and a few other summer shows that started out being great escapes but then just went offtrack.
Bring Zoo back!
This was a decent season finale until towards the end. I swear I hate Abigail and she needs to be completely disposed of. This season Jackson’s sense of getting through to her and helping to redeem her is honorable, but it’s too late after all she has done. The world will never forgive her and she is the most hated and wanted person in the world at this point. After Jackson found out about his son especially she should have put one between her eyes. Also he shot her multiple times in the leg, how the hell is she walking around like she’s perfectly fine. Is she even human at this point? As such a big character as Logan was to write him to die such a pathetic and sad way was screwed up. If he survived the fall and made it back to Clem, but then Abigail showed up and he tried to stop her or sacrifice himself so Clem might have a chance at getting away and then him getting killed would have been better and more impactful to his character. So I was disappointed at how his character was treated in the end and just makes no sense after all the things he has survived. It was a huge ethical and value dilemma at the end. I might would have let the baby die as sad as it is to say that because the way I see it with the scenarios provided the human race looses either way by just dying out (possibly peacefully) unable to have children or everyone lives in a world that is terrorized by hybrids with death left and right with all the animals the team saved becoming infected once again making all of season 1 & 2 pointless. Who would really want to live in a world like that or even raise a child in a world like that. It did set up for a another season, but if it gets canceled because it does have some low ratings then it’s just unfinished and unsatisfying and I just wasted three years watching it. If they do come back then they should wrap things up and not plan on anymore seasons and figure out how to save the world AGAIN! What a roller coaster of a season and so many mixed feelings one way or other.
I thought Abigail was a good villain for the most part but they way overdid her by the end. She dies and comes back to life herself, gunshots don’t effect her. It’s quite ridiculous. I disagree with you on what should be done. I think the Hybrid issue is still solvable. They have cured the animals in the past and they could do it again. But without the cure to sterility, human race is going to die out in one generation. At least in the first case, there is at least a chance humans could survive while in the latter case, humans are definitely dead.
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Add to that the ever ubiquitous Abigail. How exactly was she able to be exactly where the plane was going to land in the last episode? In this episode how did she get across the barrier to begin with? Totally stupid. And I am totally sick of each member of the team making global decisions that 1) don’t make any sense, and 2) are completely and totally selfishly motivated and 3) never work and 4) result in catastrophic consequences for everyone. Seriously people are you trying to save the world or not? No wonder the world is going to die. We don’t even need a villain at this point, the team is their own worst enemy. It’s really not often that I abandon a show. But this one has pushed me right to the brink We’ll see how I feel next summer, but right now I’m not sure I could stomach watching another episode of this idiocy.
Adult Clem and Tessa are the only character they’ve introduced since the original group, that I actually like. It was certainly an unceremonious death for Logan, but I never liked him anyway. On another note, just because Abigail is blackmailing them into busting the barrier, doesn’t mean they have to do it. What’s wrong with a good, old fashioned, rescue operation. Oh, well. Another season, another apocalypse.
season 1 was awesome. i thought this is going to be something fresh. curing the aninals and mitch dying in season 2 was also great to watch.. i was disappointed in season 3. it was all over the place and Abigail just wouldnt die. god i hated that mad cow. hate it when a storyline is left unfinished/unanswered. Be great if they could do 1 more episode to tue ends up.
Dammit I knew they were going to kill off Logan. I liked him and wish they hadn’t. Abigail needs to be dead already. Jamie also because she is still unbearable. I hope this gets renewed for season 4 and they find a way to bring Logan back.
Is Logan really dead? Dog bitten by hybrid dies and comes back to life as hybrid. Dead Logan bitten by hybrid… Could we have “hybrid Logan” in season 4? One thing about Zoo, you can never keep a dead person down. :-)
I definitely think he’s gonna return as a hybrid just like the dog. Season 4 where are already? Yes I am also of the opinion that it was a bit disappointing at times, but still entertaining. I don’t see why they won’t renew it.

I Really want Logan to come back too but if he comes back as a hybrid doesn’t that mean that anyone else that is bitten by a hybrid would also come back as a hybrid? Then we have a bunch of Zombie hybrid humans running around. No thanks! Hopefully the only reason the writes kept Abigail alive is so that she can bring Logan back as the only human hybrid and then she’ll be killed off. YAY! Wait, he may not be the only human hybrid, I think Sam Jr will be as well. I think Abigail juiced him last season via Sam Sr.’s blood (when she gave Sam Sr. that injection before he found Clem again).

The season finale was well done. As usual, the strong writing and acting make the show a pleasure to watch.
Logan’s death didn’t bother me at all. From the beginning, he was only a minor character and an annoying one. I just hope that he isn’t raised from the dead as a hybrid!
If there is another season, I wish to see less fighting amongst the team members. The show works better when there is less conflict amongst them.
The show literally only works because the main character constantly fight. If they didn’t always argue and weren’t so selfish the show would have ended already
Why in the world would Mitch let Clem and the baby go off like that? Poor Logan died trying to save her! Also how is Abiigal getting all over the place? On the wings of one of her birds? Lol

This show has become tiring to me. This whole season has become problematic. The only reason that I have continued to watch is that I have so much time invested. I enjoyed the first reason related to the animals. However, this season has just turned into a hot mess. Abigail is stunningly boring. The writing seems like the writers are drunk or on drugs. If it does get renewed I’ll check it out, but if it doesn’t make a vast improvement, I’ll be done.

I have my fingers very tightly crossed for a fourth season. This season was very dark, yes, and Abigail became a little too much of a super-villain for my tastes, but I still love the show and want it to continue. A world without Zoo would be a much less fun one, at least for me.
With its low ratings, I doubt the show will be back, but even if it does, NOT taking care of the Abigail problem before the end of this season was a deal breaker for me. If she were a villain I “loved to hate,” I could handle her, but her continual smirk as she is constantly one (or 20) steps ahead of the team makes her way more annoying than any character I want to watch.

It is ridiculous how someone who is as smart as Jackson is, can believe that he could trust a psycho over and over and over again it is to damn unrealistic that somebody can be that smart and yet be so dang stupid! I’m done with it I will not invest anymore of my time watching the same old stuff play out over and over again, what a disappointment!
Is Abigail some sort of superhero? She dies, comes back to life, gets shot multiple times and does not even have a limp or a cough. Come On!! Her plot, while propelling the story, is so ridiculous, even on a show about human extinction and hybrid animals.
I’m done with this show. The writing is so bad – now I know where the writers for “Under the Dome” gravitated to. If this show is renewed, I pity the people who stick around.

This show has become completely ridiculous. I won’t be back for Season 4. They ruined this just like they did the Dome. Come on CBS quit while you’re ahead.
Season one was the best and now it was the last time I will watch this show. The story sucks with people dying and few seconds later I’m back. Abigail as actor was really bad and did not help that her character was written really bad. Dad issues and then I want my animal to play outside really really . Man I will cry if this show gets renew.
