Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
Review
“This story illuminates the fantasy world of one little boy and his favorite toy, Captain Magma . . . will appeal to young superheroes (and their sidekicks) everywhere.” ―School Library Journal
“Pilutti has painted every toy a child could want: robots and monkeys and a green troll with hair like a firecracker . . . The illustrations of the playroom are the highlight of the book.” ―Kirkus Reviews
“Instead of opting for braggadocio and mock high drama, Pilutti's duo's self-awareness and low-stakes theatrics have an offhanded, almost improvisational vibe.” ―Publishers Weekly

PROs
- nice, colorful illustrations
- encourages discussion
- very short read (about a sentence a page) which could be good if you are trying to get though a bedtime routine in a hurry
CONs
- no story line
- very little educational content, more on a "silly" side
- captions / "humorous" side notes are hard for a 4 year old to follow
- not for parents who encourage healthy eating habits with their kids... For example,- Rule #6 says " A superhero needs a tasty snack to be in TOP FORM and the page pictures superheroes eating cupcakes and cookies :(
- instead of teaching the superheros to respect the bees, one of the pages show a superhero being AFRAID of the bee :(
