1. The first three monarchs of the House of Plantagenet, Henry II and his sons Richard and John, are sometimes grouped separately as the House of Anjou (the Angevins).

2. The heart of Henry III is buried at Fontevrault Abbey in France.

3. Edward III was originally buried at Kings Langley, Hertfordshire but his body was moved in 1413 to Westminster Abbey.

4. Richard II became king as his father Edward, the Black Prince died in 1376.
