St. Francis Hospital, offering uncompassionate care at the lowest quality. You're better off going to a Med Express! Sadly, the Emergency staff knows their rating but continue to validate that 1 star. It's apparent most of these staff members have never worked anywhere else or they would know how a real hospital is run and how to treat patients like human beings. If they don't care about St. Francis hospital why would they care about you?

Don't ever go to the ER!!! I went in because my COPD was acting up and to see if I had infection. The PA (not even a doctor) who saw me, Amelia Lamb, all she did was order ever possible test, not necessary ones also, and then told me I need a Catscan because the tech might have did my xray wrong, when I refused, she had the AUDACITY to yell me I could die if I don't get ct-scan to see if the xray was a mistake. WHAT HUMAN TELLS YOU YOUR GONNA DIE JUST TO GET AS KUCH MONEY OUT OF YOU!!!! Well Ms. PA WILL BE HEARING FROM MY ATTORNEY

NEVER go here. The emergency room was filled with nurses and technicians but no one did a thing except ask the same questions over and over. I came in an ambulance and decided to leave. It was awful.

St Francis OB/GYN dept is terrible!
They're unprofessional and unorganized. The hospital office staff is constantly over booking the physicians. I got so tired of wasting so much time in the waiting room i switched offices. Only to not be greeting by the front desk staff, rushed by the physician and told if i didn't like the treatment i could find another doctor by a nurse. I've tried contacting the office manager with no success. If you're looking to walk into an office with friendly staff...this is NOT the place for you! This review comes after a years worth of visits and NO improvement.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Barb S.San Francisco, CA01Dec 19, 2022
I was there yesterday with my niece from 10 -7 in the ER. She went there for Phycho help and they said they don't have it there but they will do intake and send her somewhere. They brought her back the 1st time and did blood work, then 3 hours later to do a cat scan & then 3 hours later to do covid test. I never been to an ER like that, who brings you back & forth to do separate test. Other hospitals will take you back and do everything all at once. There ER process is horrible. The ER was full but not packed. I seen ER's more packed than that and had ppl in and out about 3-5 hours. 8 hours was ridiculous. She asked if the doctor could talk to me about her condition and they did not allow a doctor to come talk to me. Other hospitals do allow. Everyone in that ER was just another number. They even had a sick patient lying on the floor in the hallway. Unprofessional. At least put her in a bed temporarily. Uncaring facility.

I went their looking to join their Family Practice Center for a PCP Doctor, but as I made my way up to the second floor....I realized, how dirty this Hospital was...I am a clean freak and I would demand a Hospital to rival my home....It just made my skin crawl....so I headed for the nearest exit, and ran...
P.S.: how does this facility remain open....?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dave I.Wilmington, DE07May 20, 2018
I brought my wife to St Francis tonight after in essence, being refused and RUDELY TREATED by CHRISTIANA CARE!! She had a head injury!
I took her to ST. Francis HOSPITAL and the staff, Dr. and Nurses were ALL very courteous, caring and professional. A Night and Day difference! Kudos to St. Francis, shame on Christiana Care!! I haven't been in St. Francis Hospital since around 1981, Glad we came here, they made it easy and were MUCH more caring, accomodating and professional than CCHS!! Thank You St. Francis!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 13, 2017
I was in this hospital when I was 6 years old for a major lung operation, and other than not seeing any nuns in habits roaming the halls....it has not changed. :-). OK....it has changed a little.
I visited my 86 year old second mom who was hospitalized for several days for health crisis, and I noticed some things about the hospital. First, the hospital has added new areas, and done a lot of renovations. (the heart wing is AMAZING).
The cafeteria is wonderful! It has a HUGE salad bar with fresh looking veggies and meats, and there is also a "make it yourself" sandwich bar! Both the sandwich bar and the salad bar are charged by weight.....but it is VERY reasonable. There is a "serve you" hot bar with food items that change daily, and I also noticed numerous items for vegetarians...nice to see.
There are areas of the hospital that are unchanged from the late 60's/early 70's. She was on the 7th floor, and it was an OLD room. The floors were not really clean, and the TV was small and dated. When you are in the hospital, there is not much else to do other than watch TV. The staff was VERY nice, however it took way to long for some one to respond to a call light. This tells me the hospital is short staffed.....NOT that the techs, aids, and nurses do not care about the patients.
The history of this hospital is humbling..".Founded by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Philadelphia in 1924, Saint Francis heeds a particular call to serve those in need. Our ministry is to serve all who require expert medical care regardless of religion, race, color, creed or economic status."
That is why my REAL mom, and my second mom loved this hospital...and I hope management realizes saving money is not the first priority, caring for patients is.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lf N.Marshallton, DE01Sep 24, 2018
