Lots to do while there, not just standing and looking at water and buildings. Be prepared for fun for children and adults. Amusement rides, museum along with plenty of eats and relax with beverages to music in The Gardens

    I loved this place.

I loved this place. You can go for a boat tour, parks, food, fun, beach is right away. Everything in one place. Great environment for family, solo travelers, couples. It’s a must do for sure in Chicago.

Before covid Chicago was an amazing place to be; so much to see, do and eat. Soooo much history and the 19th century architecture is beyond beautiful. Hopefully some day I will be able to walk Michigan Ave, Navy Pier and all the amazing old neighborhoods again without the mask police around. :-)

This is a great location to enjoy Lake Michigan as well as many restaurants and activities for all ages. It can get very busy especially when it is cold and everyone is inside keeping warm. There is a lot of parking else Navy Pier can be reached by the bus which drops you off outside the main entrance. Also a great place to look back and obtain some Chicago skyline shops. If you are looking for Chicago related souvenir gift shops - then you will find plenty at Navy Pier. You can anything from T-shirts, magnets, postcards and much more.

An attractive site with an indoor shopping and eating area.

An attractive site with an indoor shopping and eating area. The grounds are lovely but the indoor shopping and eating is a bit mediocre. They do feature a variety of outdoor events in the summer such as movies an concerts.

All of the staff we interacted with were very nice, positive, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is in great shape and a solid value (at least in March). The free breakfast was wonderful-there was a lot of variety of food including eggs, bacon/sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, granola, coffee, several kinds of juice, etc. The location was amazing! Two blocks from the Magnificent Mile and a short walk to Navy Pier.

Nostalgic Motel in River North area. Opposite R-&-R McDonalds. Close walking to food, Walgreens, public transportation and Navy Pier The only hotel I know of in Downtown Chicago with free parking for guests. Price around to see what parking costs in the Windy City are and you will realize the value of staying at this property.

it's my second time staying at this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised that we were selected as the customer of the day and received a room upgrade. The room we got was a corner suite with stunning view and a huge bathroom. The rooms are always very clean and the TV is big. I love the view seeing over Navy Piers. There's really nothing to complain and the staff are welcoming and friendly as always.

What a lovely hotel, and so perfectly located. Our river front room was wonderful, and we even could see the lake. The bell staff were there whenever we arrived "home" to help us out of our Uber. Down two escalators put us on Riverwalk, and within 2 minutes of a great Irish Pub/Restaurant. We had an easy walk to the Navy Pier and to Michigan Ave. Breakfast buffet was super! The daily free caramel popcorn and bottled water were a homey and nice touch.

The River Hotel is in many pictures and videos from Chicago that I checked online before deciding to visit the city. Its location is just perfect. You can easily walk to Michigan Avenue, the Theater District, the Riverwalk, The Bean, Millennium Park, and the Navy Pier.

Location is perfect. Across the street from the Buckingham Fountain. Great view from the room. Lake view in the morning was beautiful. Willis Tower on the other side of the window. Vintage looking elevator. Good restaurant on location. Great bar on location. Modern looking rooms. Staff was great. We parked little down the street for $30 a night. Right behind the hotel there is a breakfast place and Dunkin. Short distance to the Metro. Night skyline from the fountain was stunning. 1.5 miles walk to Navy Pier along the lake was beautiful.

The mattress was supper comfortable for 2 people. The location was very convenient. To Uber to each of the places we visited (Millenium Park and Navy Pier) from the hotel was only about $10 a trip. We were able to get in the room 2 hours before the stated time. The staff was friendly.
