Since I began to surf Tripadvisor many years ago, I have had the desire to stay at this property which in many ways still looks fantastic. I found very lovely how music was used to create the spaces and the ambient. However, as many hotels which are exclusively designed to impress, it is not perfect.
I have liked the simple but still cozy decor both at the lounge and the rooms although corridors specially near elevators look like a hospital or an office building.
Location is great and transportation options resulted much better than expected. Maps sometimes mislead. You need to take trams 12, 20 or 22 at Malastranka metro Station and the hotel is located between the first and second stations, near Mala Strana "square".
A decent complimentary breakfast is served which may be OK in Western European or North American standards. Notwithstanding that, it will deceive or at least not impress neither Asians nor South Americans.
Service is polite. Member staff try to be kind all the time. Sometimes, I had the impression they are obliged to make the same questions time and again and they do not show any interest whatsoever in the conversation they initiated.
The complimentary tea service served btwn 16 and 17.30 is a great perk but do not expect to have a full tea service being brought to your table.
During the first night, the room was a bit. However I did not realize until the next day that the window had been left opened behind the drawn curtains during turn down.
The Apple gadgest are there only to impress, I guess. You will need human assistance if you want to use Apple TV and the Ipad will be probably intended just to browse internet a little bit at the room, specially if you do bring either a laptop or a tablet with you all the time .

Dear sebsk4, thank you for your candid comments. We are excited that you liked our music concept and think that our hotel still looks fantastic in many ways. We are sorry to hear you did not like the corridor areas especially around the elevators. We really tried to decorate the corridors and elevator areas the same way as the rest of the hotel with various art pieces from Blecha, Picasso or Chagall. Also, thank you for your feedback about our breakfast. We will definitely try to intersperse it with more foreign meals too. That is a good idea. Both Apple TV and iPad in rooms are very functional. They can be intereconnected, also with your own device. You could have also taken the iPad on your Prague discoveries. We fully support the use outside the hotel. Again, thank you for your honest feedback, we will keep your comments in mind and try to do our best to improve our services. Kind regards, Jiri Hlavaty General Manager

For those of us who travel extensively on business (and occasionally for pleasure), it's always the details that defines a hotel. Simply put; this hotel is a clinic for how things should be done.

Yes, it is a beautiful hotel, yes it is extremely well maintained and immaculate, yes the food and beverages are Tier 1. As I mentioned above, it's the details... From the large, perfect bath towels, excellent water pressure and fast wireless internet (almost impossible to find these days...) to the two-ply toilet paper, this is as good as it gets.

The people at the front desk remembered my name when I passed by; there are people at my office who don't know my name...

I hosted a lunch for 8 at this hotel (special occasion). In short...food, beverage and service was simply outstanding.

Honestly, I hesitated to write this review because I did not want this hotel to be overrun with reservations so it would not be difficult to reserve this hotel on short notice in the future. So tell only who you must; staying anywhere else in Prague is simply a mistake; anywhere else will be a "step down".

I took my fiancé to Prague for the valentines weekend and wanted to stay somewhere with a good location and a touch of luxury. I checked the reviews on Trip Advisor and decided The Aria was the place to book. I have been spoiled by the luxury of the hotels in Qatar and Dubai and I thought The Aria had a lot to live up to.....I wasn't disappointed.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the reception staff, who were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome.
The hotel is located in the heart of Prague, close to Prague Castle and 5 minutes walk to Charles Bridge.
The Rooms were spacious and clean with a large flat screen TV and Apple TV which had stored a number films.
The food and the service at the Coda Restaurant was fantastic but I do recommend booking a table on arrival as it is very popular and is very often fully booked. We could not get a table for Valentines evening so had to look outside the hotel.
Ivana, the concierge was extremely helpful and was on the phone for about half an hour phoning different restaurants trying to get us a table. Finally, using her local influence, she managed to get us a table at Kampa Park which had an amazing view of Charles Bridge.

I thoroughly recommend this hotel and I hope to be back in the next few months

Dear John M, thank you so much for your extensive review. It was great having you over for such a special day as Valentine's Day. Also, thank you for the compliments comparing us to the best hotels in The Middle East. We are really trying our best at all times. Ivana says hello and is content that you enjoyed the restaurant too. It would be great to see you in few months, we will be opening a rooftop terrace for the summer where you can enjoy the sun, meal and drink or two. Kind regards Jiri Hlavaty General Manager

My daughter and I stayed here in mid-October 2014. What a terrific hotel.Highlights (aside from the very lovely room itself):
Henry, the concierge. Great advice. And when some of our other music venue preferences were unavailable, he recommended we try a performance by a trio playing at the Czech Music Museum around the corner. The Orbis Trio turned out to be fantastic--if they're playing while you're in Prague, make a point of seeing them (they're members of the Czech philharmonic). Anyway, Henry is exceptional and worth a visit even just for general direction. Also, he recommended and arranged a very good guide--we wanted a guide for our visit to the Jewish quarter.
The breakfasts at the Aria were wonderful, too, though I agree with another reviewer who said the breakfast staff is on the chilly side (but they're helpful, no complaints there). They're sort of like beautiful (they are) but remote fashion models. On the other hand, the front desk staff is warm, helpful, and cheerful--quite cheerful.
Also, The Little Whale restaurant near the hotel was terrific. Small restaurant, attentive service, excellent meal.
One more thing, the church where the assassins of Reinhard Heydrich were betrayed/ambushed is well worth a visit. Don't remember the name--ask Henry.

I spent 2 nights at the Aria Hotel in mid-December, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I was planning a quick trip to Prague, and the one thing I heard from everyone who'd been there was that it was absolutely beautiful, but absolutely overrun with tourists, and tourist shops. I wanted to try and find a hotel that was a bit removed from the most touristy area, while still close enough to see the main sites easily, and the Aria really fit the bill. It is in the Mala Strana, the Lesser Town, on the castle side of the Charles Bridge. The neighborhood certainly has its share of tourists, but still gives a feeling that you are in an actual city, and not some Disneyland version of a city. The Aria itself is on a very quiet street within the neighborhood. The U.S. Embassy is right next door (or close to it) so there is no through traffic, which makes the street even quieter. (We found this out when we overshot the hotel in our car, and tried to drive up the street to turn around, and were stopped by Czech police.)

I found this hotel in the Library Collection of hotels, and was drawn to it by the picture of a small library with cozy chairs in front of a fireplace. It has a music theme, which is tastefully done. We were in the Crooner's suite, and Frank Sinatra music was playing in our room when we checked in. My husband's mother is a super-fan of Frank Sinatra, and we laughed at how perfect it was for us to be in a room decorated with caricatures of Frank Sinatra by a well-known caricaturist. If you are into the music theme, there is a large selection of music that you can play in your room through the Apple TV, or you can borrow from the extensive CD collection in the library. If you don't care about the theme, you can just ignore it. It is not cheesy or overbearing in any way.

The decor is modern and sophisticated, the rooms very spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms luxurious. There is a laptop for your use in each room, with great wi-fi. That was a definite plus.

We were warmly greeted when we checked in, and the concierge was very helpful in planning some off-the-beaten-path excursions, and in recommending a wonderful restaurant for dinner. The hotel also has a very nice, well-reviewed restaurant. We did not have time to try it for dinner, but we ate breakfast there each morning, and it is lovely.

I really couldn't have asked for more. The location is great, quiet, but a short walk to the Charles Bridge. When we walked up our street to the restaurant the concierge recommended, we were able to experience a Prague far removed from the hustle and bustle of the Old Town. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

My only disappointment was that the lovely gardens that feature in many of the hotel photos was closed for renovations. The Aria is opening a sister hotel in Budapest this year, and we will probably check it out next December. (We will travel to Krakow for business in December, as we did this year, and tack on a few days, in Prague for 2014 and probably Budapest for 2015.)

Dear jeannie2nyc, thank you so much for your review. I have really been drawn to your story just by reading it. We are so glad that the hotel fit you and your close ones perfectly. Prague is indeed very crowded especially during Christams. It is uncomparable how empty it is now in January. I would certainly recommend to come back during low season, you almost only meet locals. The location of the US Embassy is great so is their safety and security that helps to reduce the traffic a lot. Concerning the gardens, they were not closed for renovations but as every year, they close October 31 and open April 1. The Vrtbovska Garden belongs to the city and as almost all castles and palaces in the Czech Republic they usually close for the winter. We know it is indeed a pitty. If the gardens were ours, we would certainly leave it open 24/7. ARIA Hotel Budapest is amazing so if you liked our hotel, you should definitely give it a try. If you decide to come back to The ARIA Hotel Prague, do not hesitate to contact us directly. We would love to have you back. Kind regards, Jiri Hlavaty General Manager

As a luxury travel writer for world-adventurer.com I've stayed in many properties with a theme. The Aria Hotel executes its music theme flawlessly and stylishly.

With famous composers paintings and pictures on the wall, you immediately notice the central theme of the hotel. On entering your room, smooth classical music greets you in the background. The rooms are equipped with an Apple TV that is linked to the music library of the hotel offering more music than you can imagine. If that is not enough, go downstairs to the music library to physically browse their vast selection.

Besides the artistically designed hotel, the service is wonderful. Staff at the front desk not only knew who I was, but proactively offers suggestions to make my stay better. For example, knowing I had an early flight (as I asked for an early taxi) the front desk team offered to have a breakfast pack ready for me, even though I was leaving well before the kitchen opened!

They are also very knowledgeable on the area and can offer a great itinerary throughout the city.

The restaurant cuisine is excellent and fine dining. A spa is also available for guests.

Don't miss the terrace at the top of the hotel with a beautiful panoramic view!

For visitors looking for a unique and romantic stay, the Aria Hotel is a great luxury choice in the center of the city! For an in-depth review with photos, check the experience section of my site world-adventurer.com.

Dear Davybert, Thank you so much for your extensive review. It is great to hear so many positive things from such an experienced traveler like you. We indeed have a great music library in each room and for those who want even more the hotel features a music library comprising of not only music but also DVDs. We really try to adapt to our gueets needs so we are happy that we could be of a service with your breakfast. That was the least we could do. The location is great, it is situated at a side street which therefore is quiet but is only 5 minutes walk to Charles Bridge and 10 minutes walk to the Palace. Concierge and Reception staff are extremely courteous, friendly and helpful, their advices on restaurants and transportation are fair and valuable. Breakfast is very good with reasonable choices, and the service at the hotel restaurant is courteous. We stayed at a Junior Suite, the room size is OK, but the layout is not really reasonable. There is a long but narrow corridor leading to the bedroom, but sofa or seating cannot be placed there so the area is not too meaningful. So the sofa has to be placed in the bedroom but is squeezed together with the coffee table and the 2 lounge chairs. The closet does not have enough room for the clothing of two person. The toilet has no window and the ventilator does not work most of the time thus not particularly hygienic. The air-conditioning is a bit noisy, we opened the window instead so no problem for Sept, but it would be annoying during summer months. The gym is fine, but I would recommend an additional second tread mill to be equipped so that people does not need to queue up for tread mill during peak hours. There should be room for it with some rearrangement of the existing equipment layout.

We had read reviews of many other hotels in Prague and saw that hotels in "Old Town" tended to be noisy. So we selected the Aria on the Mala Strana side of the river. We are certainly glad we did. The Aria was off of a quiet street, and our room overlooked a quiet courtyard. Our suite was themed as the "Diva Suite" as all rooms have some musical theme. It was very conveniently located and was just a 5 minute walk to the Charles Bridge and then Old Town, and was also very conveniently located near the Prague Castle. Restaurants were abundant all around the hotel so we never had to venture to the crowded Old Town for dinner. The gem of this hotel is its gardens. Don't miss them! At the top of the gardens is perhaps the best view in Prague! And since it is for hotel guests only (accessible with your room key), it was a wonderful experience. And another great experience is to have a drink or dinner at the rooftop restaurant - weather permitting. Would stay here again.

My husband and I have been staying at the Aria since our honeymoon in 2004. It is the most heavenly experience, not just because of the beautiful rooms and surroundings or the amazing food. What really makes this hotel is its staff and the feeling that you are "coming home" when you return. Jiri and Petr regularly go out of their way to make your stay perfect and the care and attention to detail from everyone, from the front desk to the restaurant to the concierge and the ladies who clean your room is the best I have ever experienced. In nine years we have stayed in a variety of different rooms and suites and the experience is the same. We never want to leave and we can only get into the car if we have started to plan our next visit. We are looking forward to seeing you all again in December 2014 and thank you for everything you do to make our visits so special.

When new to an area, we attempt to do our best to choose a great location. Well the location of this hotel is amazing for two reasons: One, it is just a block and a half away from the Charles Bridge - just far enough to be away from the crowds but close enough for easy access to a multitude of sites! And two, it is set within a very quaint part of town! We found the hotel to be upscale & the room spacious, quiet and very comfortable. The grounds were exceptional for a gorgeous view of red rooftops and beautiful architecture. We would highly recommend this hotel to any visitor of Prague!

Yes, it is accessible by taxi and no, it’s not on a hill. No steps up to reception and there’s an elevator right at reception. One of the people I was traveling with had a knee issue which seriously affected his mobility and he was fine getting in and out of the hotel and accessing his room and the breakfast and public rooms.
