The baby cousin of Solid Crew star Lisa Maffia died after falling into a hot tub and drowning, an inquest has heard.

21-month-old Jetson Maffia-Kerbey was found face down in the water at a property in Sellindge, near Ashford in Kent on June 12 this year.

The inquest into his death, held at County Hall in Maidstone, heard yesterday that Jetson, who would have been two in October, had tragically crawled into the hot tub.

He was found face down in the water by an unnamed person at the country home north of Folkestone.

Jetson began coughing up water and CPR was carried out. Paramedics arrived and continued to try to save his life but he was declared dead at the scene. The cause of death was given as drowning.

Assistant coroner Bina Patel opened the inquest yesterday before suspending it to allow for the gathering of evidence ahead of a full hearing later this year.

She said: 'I would like to pass on my most sincere condolences to the parents, family and friends of Jetson for this loss in such deeply tragic circumstances'.
