CAESAR (IRE) ia a new stallion that will stand at stud for limited mares 2019. He is fully licensed with Weatherby’s GSB . He is an Irish bred, Bay Thoroughbred stallion with extremely Correct conformation, superb markings and a fantastic Temperament. Previous to arriving at Greenvale Stud he has been breeding Polo ponies. He has come to help breed successful Competition and Show horses, with his impeccable breeding and conformation, he will improve any mare that requires more “blood” to her lines. An ideal stallion for Eventers and ponies too.
ABOUT HIS BLOODLINES:
CAESAR (IRE ) Is by the phenomenal stallion, Holy Roman Emperor, who is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse. He was a leading two year old racehorse, winning four races from seven runs in Europe in 2006.
In 2006 Holy Roman Emperor won two Group One races, the Phoenix Stakes where he defeated the Coventry Stakes winner Hellvelyn and subsequent Group One winning filly Miss Beatrix and the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère where he defeated the French colt Battle Paint. He also defeated subsequent three year old mile champion Excellent Art, producing a blistering turn of foot to win the Group Two Railway Stakes at the Curragh. His greatest rival was Teofilo, to whom he finished runner-up twice, firstly in the National Stakes, and later in the Dewhurst Stakes. There was great anticipation of another year of races between the pair, but it was decided in March 2007 to retire Holy Roman Emperor to stud. Holy Roman Emperor is the sire of 13 individual Group 1 winners and is an absolute proven cross with mares from the NUREYEV line, with Grade 3 winners out of mares by PEINTRE CELEBRE (which CAESAR is).
His mother CRYSTAL CURLING had a very successful racing career winning over £14,000. After retiring to stud she produced 6 offspring (1 of which is our Caesar) 5 raced, they had 2 wins, 14 placings and won over £35, 835 between them. BOB THE KING had 1 win and earned £21, 137 and SPARKLING CRYSTAL, also had a win and earned £11, 571. absolutely proven breeding .
DAMSIRE: PEINTRE CELEBRE, a son of NUREYEV was owned through his racing career by Daniel Wildenstein and trained by Andre Fabre, he retired to stud following an injury sustained after the Arc. At stud he sired winners at the highest level over varying distances including the dual German Grade 1 winner DAI JIN, the grade 1 Prince of Wales Stakes winner BYWORD, the triple Grade 1 winning sprinter BENTLEY BISCUIT, dual Hong Kong Grade 1 winner COLLECTION as well as the Grade 1 winning fillies VALLEE ENCHANTEE and PRIDE. He also had the success of being the Dam Sire of the 1st and 2nd winners PROTECTIONIST and RED CADEAUX in the Melbourne Cup.
