Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good. Especially the model. Besides that a little uneven, though very varied. I have found other historic museums more interesting though. Maybe that's because art, which there was more than usual of, never really interested me much. I did enjoy the special exhibition about Frankfurt under Nazi rule, though.
I accidentally went on the one day every month when entrance was free so taking that into account it was very good value. :)

Great museum! It’s small but has a lot of character and all the information you need about the history of the city. You can see it all in about two hours, so it’s not overwhelming but you still have enjoyed and learn a bit.

This museum offers a very nice insight into the city's century long history. It also displays the oldest copy of the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire.

Pretty good museum about history of the city and area. We found on the other hand great exhibitions a bit frustrating to follow and incoherent. A lot of paintings eg. without who and when painted it. Not even a century to follow. But a lot of doing and great miniatures etc. Great place in a rainy day.

The establishment is a heaven for museum lovers. It was big and elaborative. Maybe two visits are required to cover the entire ground, or a long one. It was unforgettable. It is highly recommended....

We visited only one part as the museum but we found it out reading the guide book on Frankfurt after the visit.
The part visited was disorderly on the first floor with little time consistency. The second floor was mainly about the financial city and the last floor about Frankfurt now from the point of view of its inhabitants. It looks like the organization of the exhibition is done like a modern art museum.
I disagree with the 2 stars in the book guide.

Very informative, quite interactive, does not necessarily jump at you as the coolest museum in the world, but once you start getting into it, you can't stop. We actually live in Frankfurt (we are not German) and we found so much we did not know about the town. Went with husband and two children, a teen and a nine-year old. The teen was really into it, the younger one enjoyed plenty of kid-oriented games, etc. The disappointing part was the beginning with the snow ball, not enough information, just some models of houses with little explanation. Don't let it discourage you, go up! We did not take the tour and found the exhibition a bit confusing, but I think the idea is that it is built around themes rather than chronology, and once you get used to it, you start enjoying it. Definitely worth a visit!

It's a great museum and offers plenty to see. There are "free" lockers where you can put your backpack and clothes. The model of the old town as it was before the war is awesome. Note: If you want to see just the model or some particular thing in the museum, you should go there not before one hour before the closing time and you get a half price ticket! One hour is barely enough to see the whole museum, though...

While I did find the items in this museum interesting I thought it was badly layed out and a bit confusing.
The one thing I was really disappointed in was the staff.I took a photo with my flash on (I didn't realise it was on) which the lady mentioned was now allowed I apologised and said I didn't realise my flash was on.she then stopped me again and told me I would be put out if I did that again.for the second time I apologised and said I didn't realise the flash was on then she pointed at a camera and told me I was being watched.not only did this ruin my mood but it was embarrassing ina room full of people
