What travelers are saying
- Eve B2 contributionsThe city center was lively and fun. Good shopping, food, people watching, and architectural history.
It was not difficult to walk.
I would suggest a cab over a bus, to get there. The busses are crowded.
However, the bus is a cheap option. Cabs are crazy expensive.Written April 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The fortress adds a medieval flavor to a Renaissance town.Written March 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Abdullah NQatar5 contributionsVery beautiful view but the interior can be better. Palece of Sissy with many exhibitions. Beautiful nature around. There is a shop next to the entrance. Ticket is little expensiveWritten March 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA17,087 contributionsThe big Greek Orthodox church toward the center of the Old Town; it's worth a visit to enjoy the icons and the intense decoration. - Nahala X3 contributionsBeautiful view. Went inside the Monastery amazing architecture. Priest was rude. He just came out and ring the bell and went inside as they close at 1pm. Its a deep hike so walking is little workout. We came down in a taxi for 8 euros who came to drop someone.Written April 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ALLANLondon, UK7 contributionsThis was a planned visit during our holiday after reading about the wonderful work that the volunteers are doing to give these beautiful Donkeys and their cat and dog companions the time, love and care enabling them to live out the rest of their lives in safety. They are being loved and cared for by wonderful people who give their time freely. Thank you for looking after them. We plan to help from afar by way of donations. If visiting Corfu please go to the Sanctuary and see for yourself if you are able to. Donations are welcome on site although there is no pressure as the Donkeys and companions will be pleased to see you. But if you are able to help please do so.Written October 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Pierre Yves SNamur, Belgium2 contributionsThis little monastery is very cute. It is just inside the harbour, where you can also rent boats. - MizzLibraGrafenwohr, Germany24 contributionsTo make the most of our day, we arrived just before 10 AM, whren Angelokastro opens for visitors. Although a few others were just arriving, too, we found a parking spot immediately.
In our family , that went on this trip together, we were between 22 years old and pretty fit and late 50s with a health condition affecting stamina and physical fitness. We all made it to the top without entirely being out of breath. And the hike/climb turned out to be well worth it. Besides some ruins to see, you are also rewarded with a breathtaking view over the island of Corfu as well as the Ionian Sea.Written December 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Give credit to the former resident who placed his collection in this grand and lovely building. The collection is extensive and of great value and the display in this pretty buildiing is great.Written March 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA17,087 contributionsOne of the prettiest areas of town, this square is near the waterfront and occupies a flat area next to the old city. - Dorothy DAndover, UK24 contributionsThis is a beautiful spot. The village is lovely but one should be careful as the path leading to the centre can be very slippy! We ate a one restaurant but the food was sadly disappointing. I think it is because they have captive audience. Whilst we were there we followed a route to the caves but they are difficult to reach and personally I would avoid the route. However whilst we were searching for the caves we were lucky to spot eagles - certainly birds of prey and to hear them call. Sadly we didn't have our binoculars to identify them properly but I am certain they were eagles by the call.
This is an incredible drive and the views are well worth the trip.Written August 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We drove in pretty far, about as far as we could to get the main view of Cape Drastis (past where most people parked and walked in quite a ways). We then walked down on a trail, but only for a little while. It looked beautiful from all angles.

The Palace is small but they've made an effort to put displays together to make more of it. The garden is free and the house was only 4 euros, so I wouldn't say it's a 'must see' but if you have time spare, it's worth a look. We were here in April, I imagine in the summer when it's much hotter, the trees will offer some respite from the hot sun.Written April 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
