Actor Tyler Sanders of “9-1-1: Lone Star” has died at the age of 18.
An autopsy will be done to determine a cause of death, Pedro Tapia, Sanders’ representative, told Fox News Digital. Tapia confirmed Sanders’ death is being investigated.
“Tyler was a talented actor with a bright future,” Tapia told Fox News Digital. Sanders came from a “wonderful family,” the rep added.

‘Teen Mom’ alum Lane Fernandez dead at 28

“Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant” alum Lane Fernandez has died at age 28.
Fernandez’s wife, Kylee Rose Fernandez, took to Facebook on Monday to share the tragic news.
“I’m so lost without you babe.. I love you to the moon and back and I know you’re watching out for us. I will forever miss you,” she began. “It’s always been you.”
“Nolyn, Emerson, and I love you so much and you were an amazing father, dog dad, and husband,” she continued. “You’ll forever be my rock, and my best friend. I miss you more than anything baby.”
The couple just welcomed their son, Nolyn, three weeks before Fernandez died. A cause of death for the MTV alum has not been released.

Tim Sale, DC Comics Artist Behind ‘Batman: The Long Halloween,’ Dies at 66

Tim Sale, the acclaimed comic book artist behind classic DC Comics such as “Batman: The Long Halloween” and “Superman for All Seasons,” died on Thursday, DC Comics confirmed in a press release. He was 66.
DC Comics publisher and chief creative officer Jim Lee announced that Sale had been admitted to the hospital due to health issues on Monday. The cause of death has not been announced.

Hannah, Duncan Rathbun Artist, Author 1952-2022 Duncan Rathbun Hannah, 69, died of an unexpected heart attack on June 11 at his home in West Cornwall, Connecticut. Born in Minneapolis in 1952, he attended Kenny Elementary, Blake School, and Hopkins High School, before leaving for Bard College and Parsons School of Design in New York.
As a child, he displayed a remarkable talent for drawing and painting, and for internalizing and impersonating such luminaries as Sherlock Holmes, Gene Autry, and Count Otto von Bismarck in his daily life and for weeks at a time. A long-time resident of New York City, Duncan returned to Minneapolis often as his artistic career evolved. He showed at Oulman Gallery and Groveland Gallery, among others. Duncan chronicled his turbulent early days in New York in the 1970s in a memoir published in 2018 entitled Twentieth Century Boy. Known as a bon vivant, natty European-style dresser, and witty companion, Duncan traveled often to France and England, where he opened many shows of his art in private galleries. His nostalgic, figurative paintings often evoked the dreamy and sometimes troubled landscapes of children and movie stars, with frequent studies of ocean liners, race cars, and small hotels from the 30s and 40’s. Sometimes called “meditations on solitude”, his work is held in the collections of the Chicago Art Institute, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum in New York. He had significant success as a portrait painter as well, and has many pieces in private collections, including Mick Jagger’s.

Family holds tight after sudden death of Robb Kociol, MD

Milton, MA – Since the sudden recent death of her husband Robb on their 15th anniversary, Kristin Kociol said she has learned even more about her [cardiologist] husband’s pioneering work in heart failure and transplantation. “He did a lot in the short amount of time he was here,” Kristin said in a recent interview. “I know a lot of people in Milton are alive because of him.” She said that the support of friends, family, colleagues and neighbors in Milton has been amazing since he died on June 2 at age 51.
It isn’t the first time the family has felt that support. Kristin said that just before her younger daughter Olivia turned six, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Olivia began her first chemo on her sixth birthday.

Friends often joked that Aaron Hewitt was “The Mayor of Charlotte,” a guy who seemed to know everyone wherever he went … or, if he found himself around people he didn’t know, he had a reputation for being able to turn a stranger into a pal in a matter of minutes. So even though Hewitt boarded a plane to Europe 11 days ago with every intention of walking the Camino de Santiago on his own, it should come as a surprise to precisely none of his friends that others making the pilgrimage had attached themselves to him less than two days into his journey. And in the face of her tremendous grief, it comforts his wife, Amanda Hewitt, to know that when her husband collapsed and died just outside of Logroño in northern Spain on Saturday morning, he was not alone.
A four-time marathoner, an avid CrossFit athlete, and a hiking enthusiast, Hewitt spent more than 15 years as a popular and respected physician assistant specializing in sports medicine at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte before he and his wife moved to Naples, Florida, in 2018.
He studied athletic training and sports medicine at Central Michigan University, and after earning his bachelor’s degree he worked two years as an assistant athletic trainer for the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings. He went back to Central Michigan to earn a master’s in physician assistant studies, and moved to Charlotte in 2002 to work for OrthoCarolina.
The next morning, Aaron had told his companions that he was feeling nauseated, and to go on ahead of him. They refused to leave him behind, Amanda says. After waiting for him to feel up to it, they walked for maybe 60 to 90 minutes — on a flat dirt path, at a leisurely pace — then stopped to take a photo. After it was snapped, Aaron bent forward to put his hands on his knees, then collapsed. At least one member of the group started CPR, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. Amanda says it’s suspected Aaron had a heart attack. Despite the fact that he was a healthy eater and “as fit as they come,” she says he had extremely high cholesterol, which is something both of his parents have lived with, too. He had no known heart conditions. An autopsy report is due back later this week.

Newton, Ill. — More than 60 semitractors and their drivers gathered in Newton on Monday to honor a man they called the “The Legend.” Troy Allen Huddleston, 54, of Yale died unexpectedly on June 7.
David McKinney traveled from Lexington, Alabama, to Monday’s funeral at West End Reception Center of Newton, along with several truckers from throughout the U.S., to pay respect to someone they all could call a good friend.
“There are drivers from all over the country here today,” McKinney said. “I know guys here from North Carolina, Iowa, Missouri, Alabama, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and all over.”

Joann Inc. Financial Chief Matt Susz Dies

Matt Susz, Joann Inc.’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, died suddenly on Wednesday, the company said Thursday. Tom Dryer, currently Joann’s vice president and controller, will serve as interim chief financial officer, the Hudson, Ohio, fabric and craft retailer said. Mr. Susz joined Joann in 1996 and had been chief financial officer since February 2019.

Riverhead man dies in single-vehicle crash in Laurel

A 68-year-old Riverhead, NY, man died in a single-vehicle crash in Laurel Monday afternoon when his pickup truck swerved off Main Road and across oncoming traffic before striking a tree head-on. Southold Town police confirmed Tuesday that the driver, Angelo Stavropoulos, 68, was pronounced dead at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.
Mr. Stavropoulos was driving a 2021 Toyota Tacoma eastbound on Main Road near Laurel Lake Park when the crash happened at about 2:45 p.m. in front of a home. There were no passengers in the pickup or other vehicles involved.
Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley said he wasn’t certain if the driver suffered a medical emergency just prior to the crash, but officers and first responders administered CPR at the scene on the driver. A witness who was driving behind the Tacoma said he saw the pickup cross the road and crash directly into the tree. “No brakes, no nothing,” the witness told the News-Review.

Berkeley honors JT Street, 19-year city worker, who died in motorcycle crash

Police do not yet know what may have caused the crash but are looking into whether Street may have experienced a medical emergency.
The man who died over the weekend in a motorcycle crash in South Berkeley was 52-year-old James “JT” Street, a longtime city worker and Berkeley native who lived just blocks from where he lost his life.
The crash investigation is still in progress, but police believe Street — for an unknown reason — struck the curb near a concrete barrier on the east side of Adeline as he rode north. The collision sent him traveling across the lanes and into the median.
There were no skid marks in the roadway, police said this week. BPD does not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
Now, investigators are waiting for the coroner’s report to determine whether Street may have had a medical emergency.
Street’s death was Berkeley’s first traffic fatality of the year.
Last year, eight people died in Berkeley traffic collisions. It was the highest number on record for decades.

SAN JOSE (CBS SF/BCN) – A man who died after his car crashed into a San Jose Home Depot over the weekend suffered a medical emergency before the accident that killed him, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
The crash was reported at 1:38 p.m. Saturday at the store in the 2100 block of Monterey Road, where the man drove his vehicle into the front of the store and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, police said Thursday.
The medical examiner’s office on Wednesday determined the medical emergency, not any injuries from the crash, caused the man’s death, so police said they are removing the case from their traffic fatality statistics for the year.
BPD: One cyclist dead, two others seriously injured in Buffalo car accident

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo police are investigating a fatal car accident that occurred Friday night on South Park Avenue.
Investigators say just before 9 p.m., a Chrysler, four-door Sedan struck a 29-year-old, female bicyclist.
The Chrysler continued westbound on South Park and struck two more female bicyclists near Columbia Street.
Police say the vehicle finally came to rest near South Park Avenue and Mississippi Street after striking a parked vehicle.
Investigators say the 29-year-old, Buffalo woman was taken by ambulance to Buffalo General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The two other cyclists, a 27-year-old from Getzville and a 32-year-old, were both taken to ECMC and listed in serious condition.
Police are investigating if the 33-year-old, female driver suffered a medical emergency.
No charges have been filed at this time.

Officials declared a “mass casualty incident” at 9:38 p.m. Friday local time during the festival at NRG Park, where an estimated 50,000 people were in attendance, Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña told reporters during an overnight news briefing.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said at a Saturday news conference there were 25 people transported to the hospital, and 13 are still hospitalized. A 10-year-old is in critical condition, officials said. There were scores of other injuries, Peña said. At least 11 suffered cardiac arrest, he added.

Port Angeles, WA — Community members were stunned to hear of the sudden death of Ryan Malane, vice president and co-owner of Black Ball Ferry Line, who had contributed his marketing expertise to people ranging from small business owners to those with government entities and nonprofits. Malane, of Port Angeles, died on Sunday at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. He was 48.
“Every person I’ve had to tell the news to is consistently shocked and heart-broken,” said Marsha Massey, executive director of the Olympic Peninsula Visitors Bureau. “He was a major figure in this community. He cared very deeply about this place — about the North Olympic Peninsula as a whole.”
The cause of death was reported by a family friend to be a lack of oxygen and fluid on his lungs, but no specific ailment has been announced. Black Ball President Ryan Burles of Victoria said Malane had been severely ill for at least two weeks prior to his death. Some said COVID-19 played a part in his early death, even if he was never infected with the virus.
In March 2020, the Coho was docked due to COVID-19 health restrictions, and for the next 18 months, the company survived on reserves and grants while maintaining medical insurance for all of its 120 workers. “The worry, the pressure, everything that came with COVID and trying to keep your business alive … I know it took a tremendous toll on him,” said Randy Johnson, Clallam County commissioner, fellow board member on the county lodging tax board and a close friend. “He took it to heart and thought about it every day.”

Jack Capra, Interim General Counsel at the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) and a U.S. Navy veteran who served alongside Gov. Ron DeSantis in Guantanamo Bay, has died suddenly. Capra, a retired JAG, was officially the Deputy General Counsel at DOEA. In addition to his service in Guantanamo, he served nine months in Iraq, where he earned a Purple Heart.

King Harris, longtime Central Coast TV and radio broadcaster, dies at 75

Central Coast broadcast journalist King Harris showed up to work every day with a sense of humor and his typical uniform: a pink button-down shirt, jeans and bare feet.
“He took the news seriously, but he never took himself seriously,” KVEC radio host Dave Congalton told the Tribune. “He had this wonderful sense of humor.”
Harris, 75, died Tuesday night after collapsing in his Arroyo Grande home. Paramedics couldn’t revive him, said Congalton, who had just met Harris for lunch earlier that day.
“King had health issues, but he was in good spirits the whole time,” Congalton said in a news release. “We’re all in shock at the news. Total shock.”

Ultrarunning legend, Mark Godale passed away suddenly June 13, 2022, at the age of 51. Mark was an elite ultrarunner, American record holder, and a National Champion. He was a dedicated runner at USATF events and World Championships. For his career, he was a talented art director from Ohio, but his life was always surrounded in running activities.
Mark ran in junior high, high school and at the University of Akron in Ohio, where he ran cross country and track. When he was a freshman in 1990, he egged on a friend to try a 10K, saying he would run a marathon the same day. Mark finished in a fast 3:17 for his first try.

Tiverton mourns loss of retired fire captain

Tiverton [Rhode Island] is mourning the loss of a beloved fire captain, who died unexpectedly on Monday. Captain Joe Plocica retired from the fire department in 2019, after 25 years of service. Taking into account his time as a volunteer, he served the town for 30 years.
The Tiverton Town Council started Monday’s meeting with a moment of silence in his memory, and council president Denise deMedeiros noted that after his retirement, Capt. Plocica worked for many years as a paramedic at St. Anne’s hospital, where she was one of his instructors.
“He was one of the best paramedics I’ve ever trained,” she said.
On behalf of the council, deMedeiros offered condolences to Joe’s wife Gina, his two children, and the Tiverton Fire Department.

Polk County Fire Rescue paramedic dies on duty

Indian Lake Estates, Fla. — A paramedic and engineer with the Polk County Fire Rescue died while he was on duty on Tuesday, the fire rescue said in a Facebook post. Douglas Clemons, 56, was at a fire station in Indian Lake Estates when he passed away.
“We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of a man who has served Polk County for 27 years and the grief being felt today by our friends at Polk County Fire Rescue, as well as family and friends of Doug Clemons,” the Polk County Sheriff’s Office stated. The details of Clemons’ death are yet to be said by authorities.

Jacob Daniel “Jake” Ropp, age 38, of Marysville, Ohio, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Operator of his own semi transport company, “6R Transport,” he was an associate of JF Express Fr8 LLC in Marysville and a former driver for Larson Transport in East Liberty.
A 2002 graduate of Marysville High School and a participant as an Explorer with the Allen Township Fire Department, Jake was an EMT and firefighter and began his emergency service career with Northern Union County Fire Department in Richwood. A member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Marysville Lodge No. 1130 and lovingly referred to by his family as “Shaky Jake,” he was known as a hard-working soul. He was generous of his time and energy and “never knew a stranger.”

North Carolina Fire Recruit Dies After Suffering Medical Emergency During Physical Assessment

We regret to pass on that Fire Recruit Andrew Vaughn, 36, passed away after suffering a medical emergency during Greensboro (NC) FD’s pre-employment physical assessment.
The physical assessment included a mile and a half run, sit-ups, push-ups, and pull-ups. The first assessment was the mile and half run to see what the candidates needed to work on.
Andrew was finishing his last lap when he collapsed. He said his legs were cramping and he couldn’t stand up. Vaughn was slated to join the GFD recruit class beginning Sept. 1. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.

Gerald “Jerry” Kuras, a longtime Santa Barbara County firefighter who came out of retirement to lead the Lompoc Fire Department for three years, has died.
Kuras, 68, died suddenly and unexpectedly at his Nipomo home.
He had served as chief of the Lompoc agency from 2017 to 2020, and former colleagues remembered him on Thursday.

Veteran Ga. Sheriff’s Deputy Dies Suddenly During Training

A veteran Georgia sheriff’s deputy died suddenly during training Tuesday. Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean M. Free was in a classroom at the gun range when he felt nauseated, WGCL-TV reports. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
“When he was transported to the hospital, he was conscious, very alert and responding,” Sytonnia Moore, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman, told the news outlet. Initial reports stated Free suffered heat stroke, but the sheriff’s office said the cause of death has not been determined.
According to a social media post by Georgia Law Enforcement, Free’s father suffered a heart attack after hearing about his son’s death. The nonprofit group stated that the father is in critical condition, but the sheriff’s office would not confirm that information.
Free, 41, served with the sheriff’s office for nearly 16 years.
Brooklyn mourns death of retired NYPD Chief Charles ‘Chucky’ Scholl

New York City – Brooklyn is mourning the passing of former New York City Police Department Chief Charles “Chucky” Scholl, who died suddenly on Friday, June 17. He was 64 years old. Scholl, the former NYPD Chief of Patrol Borough Brooklyn South, was appointed to the force in November 1979, and continued to serve his home borough for 41 years.
He rounded out his career at Coney Island’s 60th Precinct, before retiring in 2020 at the age of 62. Scholl was well loved by the community and received dozens of awards and accolades during his time with the NYPD. Colleagues, family and friends say that everyone who knew him, loved him and ensure he will be dearly missed.

A Rhode Island Department of Health employee who was charged with possessing child pornography has died unexpectedly, the Department of Health confirmed Monday.
Jeffrey Hill, 46, of South Kingstown, who worked as youth suicide prevention project manager, was arrested by the state police’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force last week after authorities determined that the internet connection at his Wakefield home had been used to upload child pornography.
The Department of Health had placed Hill on administrative leave following his arrest.
During his arraignment, Hill was ordered not to have unsupervised contact with minors, and was allowed only restricted internet access. He was released on $5,000 surety bail.
It was not immediately clear when and how Hill had died.

A 22-year-old second lieutenant of the Argentine Army died this Sunday in the province of Corrientes after having been part of an initiation party, also known as ‘baptism’, together with colleagues and chiefs of the Artillery Group No. 3 of Paso de los Libres . The soldier had been found unconscious in his room and was taken to a local hospital, where he died. The causes of death are being investigated.
The deceased second lieutenant was identified as Matías Ezequiel Chirino, a native of the city of Río Cuarto, province of Córdoba, who had been transferred a few days ago to the Artillery Group No. 3 of Paso de los Libres.

A 20-year-old woman went out shopping on her birthday before collapsing and dying weeks later.
Brazil Walsh, known as Be, from Huddersfield [UK], was a “fit and healthy” individual who always loved sport from horse riding to becoming a “master of judo” – gaining a blackbelt in the sport. On April 24, 2022, Be went out shopping in Leeds for the day to celebrate turning 20.
But sadly, not before long, the trip left the Honley resident collapsing and in a coma. On Friday June 3, Walsh sadly died, leaving those who loved her “absolutely heartbroken”.
Be collapsed in Harvey Nichols in Briggate, Leeds, before she was rushed to St James’ University Hospital, a family friend said. She was later transferred to Leeds General Infirmary where she was diagnosed with encephalitis.
The rare but serious brain inflammation attacked the memory and vision part of her brain. Family member Kirsty Marshall on behalf of Be’s mum Lilibeth Walsh, and dad Mike Walsh said: “After numerous tests and numerous doctors from not only Leeds but London and Oxford as well, it was finally diagnosed. Unfortunately there is no cure and her brain could not cope any longer, the virus had spread throughout.
“In advanced stages, individuals may lose the ability to walk, as their muscles stiffen or spasm. There is progressive deterioration to a coma. In a matter of weeks Be went from being forgetful but able to talk, to being unable to communicate at all.

A family is coming to terms with the shock of suddenly losing their son. Leeroy Gotami, a former De Montfort University student died in May, aged 22.
Leeroy had been a popular student and a friend to many, leaving a “huge void” in the lives of those he interacted with. He had completed an Audio Recording and Technology degree at DMU with his mind set on a career as a radio presenter.
Leeroy – who suffered from seizures – died on Saturday, May 21. The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.

A woman’s body has tragically been found within the grounds of a hospital in Blackpool.
Emergency services were called after the grim discovery was made at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Whinney Heys Road early on Tuesday morning (June 14). Lancashire Constabulary confirmed they were called at 5.30am to reports of a sudden death.
The woman was found unresponsive within the grounds and pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are not treating her death as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
The identity of the woman and cause of death has not been disclosed. Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “As this is an ongoing inquiry the Trust will be making no comment at this stage.”
A police force spokesperson told LancsLive: “We were called around 5.30am yesterday (Tuesday, June 14) to a report of a sudden death in Blackpool. A woman was found unresponsive in the grounds of Blackpool Victoria Hospital in Whinney Heys Road.
“She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being believed to be suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.”

Tributes have been paid to a “kind and laid back” man who died suddenly at the age of 30. James Sheppard, who lived in Sherwood, died from Sudden Arrythmic Death Syndrome [SADS] on April 17 last year.
SADS is a type of young sudden cardiac death when someone dies suddenly and unexpectedly from a cardiac arrest – but the cause can’t be found. James’ death came as a total shock for his friends and family as he seemed totally healthy and had no symptoms of cardiac abnormalities.
His friends and family are currently trying to put on free cardiac screenings for young people in Nottingham, which will hopefully take place in Sherwood where Sophie and James lived together. A coroner couldn’t find any pre-existing conditions after James’ death, but sometimes these can only be picked up via an electocardiogram [ECG] when someone is still alive – which is why his loved ones say screenings are so important.

A 48-year-old woman from St Leonards described as being ‘keen on exercise’ died 15 days after having the covid vaccine, an inquest heard.
The inquest at Eastbourne Town Hall on Thursday (June 9), heard Helena Ashton, a project accountant from Caple Court in St Leonards-on-Sea, died on May 25 at University College Hospital in London.
Mrs Ashton received her first AstraZeneca vaccine on May 10 at a centre in Hastings and according to her GP Dr David Fox, had no history of blood clots, never smoked, and was not on medication.
Mr Ashton told the inquest Mrs Ashton was ‘keen on exercise’ and an ‘extremely fit woman’.
He also said she was in ‘excellent medical condition’.
Mr Ashton said Mrs Ashton was ‘reluctant’ to get the vaccine due to worries about side effects.
He said on May 16, six days after the vaccine was given, ‘things started to go wrong’.

Newtownabbey councillor Glenn Finlay, 41, dies suddenly

A former Alliance Party councillor on Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has died suddenly. Glenn Finlay served as an independent councillor after being suspended by Alliance in December. He was 41 years old. He had been elected in May 2019 to the council.
In a statement, a spokesperson for his former party said: “We are shocked by the sudden death of Glenn Finlay. We would ask people respect the privacy of his family at this very difficult time and we extend to them our sincerest condolences.”

A second person died at this year’s Download Festival, police have confirmed. The news comes after LeicestershireLive reported yesterday that a man had died after falling unwell moments before Iron Maiden’s headline set. Police said today that officers were alerted to the second man at 12.48 pm on Saturday, June 11. It was thought the festival-goer was suffering a cardiac arrest. The man, who has not been identified, was given emergency medical treatment at the scene before being transferred to an onsite medical centre. He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards, police said.
The annual rock music festival took place across the weekend, from June 10 to 12, at Castle Donington, in Leicestershire.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The cause of the death of the man is currently being treated as unexplained. The cause of death is not believed to be suspicious at this time.” Inquiries into the man’s death are ongoing and a file is being prepared for the coroner, they added.
LeicestershireLive has been made aware of rumours suggesting more than two people died at the festival. However, when asked for clarification, a spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said a total of two deaths had been reported from the event.
As previously reported, a man died after becoming unwell at the festival shortly before 9 pm on Saturday (June 11), following the Deftones’ performance and moments before rock legends Iron Maiden took to the stage. He was transferred to Derby Royal Infirmary but died the same day.

Man dies after suffering ‘medical emergency’ in Bromsgrove

Emergency services were called to Perryfields Road just after 7:30 am on Wednesday, June 15 to a man in critical condition.
Bystanders were performing CPR before paramedics arrived and staff continued with treatment.
However, ‘despite best efforts’ nothing more could be done to save the man and he was pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7:33 am to reports of a medical emergency at Perryfields Road.
“Paramedics attended and treated the man, who it’s believed had suffered a medical episode, however, unfortunately, he was sadly pronounced dead.

An internationally recognised expert on the vibrations of long span bridges due to wind and pedestrian loading, John made several important theoretical contributions, backed up by meticulous experimental validation, that helped explain and resolve critical practical problems . . .
Students will remember his caring support, especially during the first-year Surveying Field Course, when he would coax them to endure, and even enjoy, four-seasons-in-a-day weather, including horizontal rain, whilst taking pride in producing excellent work. John’s enjoyment of such conditions also unfailingly enthused his accompanying academic colleagues. Put simply, John was a wonderful person. His untimely death will be felt deeply by his academic and professional colleagues in the University and beyond.

The heartbroken wife of a Co Tyrone man who died suddenly earlier this year has spoken of her pride after he was awarded a degree in Youth Work.
Conor McHugh from Dungannon died unexpectedly in March while he was completing a BA at the Open University, having been passionate about his work with young people for over a decade.
Conor, 31, had been supported by the Cedar Foundation following a brain injury to secure a place on the degree, and had found a passion for youth work after being involved with the Start360 programme helping vulnerable young people.
Health care assistant Brogan said Conor’s sudden death still remains a shock to her, and it will be an ‘emotional’ moment when she goes to lift his scroll.”

Tributes to York City Football Club stalwart Tricia Westland

Tributes have been made to a well-known York City Football Club figure who died aged 53. Tricia Westland, former assistant to the York City FC secretary during the 1980s and 1990s, died suddenly on June 1. In her later years Tricia was a volunteer carer for My Sight, helping blind and partially sighted residents of York by fundraising and befriending those in need.
Tricia’s sister, Vanessa Westland-Fry, said she was “really bubby” and had “a really good sense of humour.” Vanessa said Tricia was “born and bred” in York. She attended Ashfield Secondary Modern School and lived in Woodthorpe.

The popular Irish journalist, best known for her time at UTV, passed away following a terminal illness – just days after asking her fans to “say prayers for me”.
Aideen told her 16,600 Twitter followers on Tuesday that she had been unwell in hospital.
Sharing photos of her receiving a blood transfusion, she wrote: “Day 19 in hospital – say a wee prayer for me. Bleeding in stomach.”
Then three days later, she revealed she was “going home to die” as the treatment had not gone as hoped.
“So life has not gone well and I am as sick as I was as when I went in to hospital so essentially going home to die but getting palliative care,” she added.

Hürth – On Saturday afternoon, a young man (18) suddenly went missing. Emergency call to the fire brigade and water rescue! The beach has been cordoned off. The fire brigades from Hürth and Cologne rushed over. A helicopter circled over the lake, rescue divers entered the water.
About an hour after the bather disappeared, the 18-year-old was discovered by the divers at a depth of six meters. The rescuers pulled him out of the lake. Resuscitation efforts began immediately.
At first, the rumor went around among staff and visitors that the man was dead. According to the fire department, however, he was successfully resuscitated and was taken to Cologne University Hospital in an ambulance. His girlfriend is receiving pastoral care.
But the same afternoon, the young man died of his injuries in the clinic. “Officials from the Rhein-Erft-Kreis criminal police immediately began the investigation. There is currently no evidence of third-party fault, so the investigators assume a tragic swimming accident,” the police said.

A Swiss resident in the canton of Bern had an accident while swimming in the Aare early on Saturday evening. He got into the river with three women and got into trouble a little later. Despite attempts to revive him after he was rescued from the water, he died on the spot.
A 65-year-old woman who was unconscious from Lake Neuchâtel near Chevroux NE died on Saturday evening in the Chuv University Hospital in Lausanne.
A 78-year-old Frenchman was found dead in Lake Lugano near Caslano TI on Saturday afternoon. A 46-year-old man died in the Dreilinden family pool in St. Gallen on Friday evening. A 14-year-old died on Friday afternoon after a swimming accident in the Maggia near Tegna in the municipality of Terre di Pedemonte. He had jumped into the river and never surfaced again.
A 23-year-old man who had been missing in Lake Sarnen near Sachseln OW since Thursday evening was found dead by police divers on Friday afternoon.
A 74-year-old man who disappeared near Villeneuve in Lake Geneva on Friday was still missing. The Swiss resident in Valais went swimming from his ship and suddenly went under.
Another swimming accident occurred on Saturday afternoon in the garden pool in Reinach BL. A seven-year-old boy was found unconscious in the water and recovered. A lifeguard initiated the resuscitation of the child before it was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Successful runner Ari-Pekka Lattu has died at the age of 43 exhausted from a long illness. Mightily according to Latu’s family told about it on Thursday on the man’s Facebook page.
The Lattu held a record of 49.36 Finnish 400-meter fences from 2003 to 2014. On the same trip, he took four Finnish Championship golds, four Finnish Championship silver medals and one bronze medal in 2001–2009.

Greek authorities are investigating the sudden death of a 22-year-old female student in Komotini who collapsed while running at a stadium.
The local community of Komotini has sunk into mourning after the sudden death of a 22-year-old student on Tuesday afternoon.
The young girl, who collapsed while training at the university stadium, was an athlete in the track & field of Theseas Perivolia and a third-year student at TEFAA Komotini.
Georgia S., originally from a village in the Municipality of Platanias, Crete, in the recent Intercollegiate Championship, had travelled to Heraklion to take part in the 100 and 200 meters as well as in the four × 100 meters relay, participating with his team Theseus in the Club of Crete.
When she was found, she was already dead and did not respond to the resuscitation efforts made, while it is worth noting that she wore a watch that recorded her times and pulses and is the subject of an investigation by the authorities, in an attempt to determine the exact time of death and mainly the cause.
The exact cause of death is expected to be given by the results of the autopsy that have already been ordered to the Forensic Medicine Service of Thrace.

57-year-old businessman found dead in one of the sheds on his farm

Premariacco – Emotion reigns in Premariacco for the sudden disappearance of the well-known agricultural entrepreneur Luca Sinicco, 57, found lifeless at dawn on Monday 20 June in one of his warehouses, next to his home. Unfortunately, the desperate attempts at resuscitation put in place by the rescuers, who also arrived by helicopter, are in vain.
A well-known figure, both for his professional role – which took place in various sectors – and for the fact that the Sinicco family are one of the historical families of the town, the 57-year-old leaves his wife and two children. In these dramatic hours, the whole community is clinging to them in an embrace of solidarity and sharing of the enormous pain caused by this sudden farewell.

He was supposed to reach the church for a ceremony but sadly he never got there. Stanislao Smeragliuolo, 63-year-old photographer from San Nicola la Strada and owner of a studio in via XX Settembre. Smeragliuolo, known by all as Stany, went to the bar in Piazza Municipio where he drank a glass of water. Then he went back to via XX Settembre, where he has his studio, to meet an acquaintance for an upcoming shoot before going to the scheduled ceremony. On the way he was seized by a sudden and excruciating pain. Not even the time to ask for help as he collapsed on the ground in the street.
The alarm was sent immediately to the rescuers, who arrived in the area in a few minutes. In vain, however, attempts were made to revive him. Stany’s heart had already stopped beating leaving everyone present in dismay. The news spread like wildfire in the city, where Smeragliuolo was known and well liked by everyone. In these hours, many are leaving their memories for the 63-year-old who passed away on social networks. “Professionally the best, as a man he was more. Have a good trip Stany”, writes one user.

Drama in the Poggioreale prison: inmate dies after an illness

In the night between last Friday and Saturday, a 47-year-old foreigner died in the Poggioreale prison due to a heart attack. Caorle – What was supposed to be one of the first days of sun and sea turned into a drama: she felt ill on the beach, her heart stopped and she never started again, not even after the intervention of the health workers. Nothing to do for a 71-year-old woman from Portogruaro when around 13 today, Monday 20 June 2022, she collapsed on the beach at the Brussa di Caorle caught by sudden illness.
Immediately the rescue machine was activated: the SUEM 118 health workers, who arrived on the spot also aboard the helicopter that took off from Treviso, tried to tear her from death, but could not help but declare her death. They had reached the beach of Forcatella, between Torre Canne and Savelletri, where the crystal clear water is dammed by the rocks. They were relaxing in a cove that winds its way between luxurious bathing establishments. Then, the mistral wind began to whip the coast and the sea suddenly stirred: the two daughters at that moment were taking a bath and could no longer return to shore. The waves prevented them from reaching the beach.
The father, as soon as he saw them in difficulty, did not think for a moment. He dived and fought with all his might against the power of the water to grab his daughters. After swimming for a long time he managed to put them in a position to reach the shore but he was trapped by the fury of the waves.
Other bathers, when they saw him floundering, dived to help him. But by the time they reached him it was too late, the 47-year-old was already dead. They brought him ashore but the 118 health workers could do nothing for him and tried in vain to revive him.
The tragedy took place under the eyes of the whole family. Probably the 47-year-old suffered a heart attack from exertion and drowned, perhaps he had ingested too much water while swimming. The investigations will clarify the dynamics of the incident.

Mohammed Faisal, father of two who worked as a driver with a bakery chain, collapsed minutes before his flight landed at Calicut International Airport where his family was waiting to receive him on Saturday morning, two of the family members said.
P.P. Singh, regional manager for Air India and Air India Express, confirmed to Gulf News that the captain of the Air India flight AI998 from Sharjah to Kozhikode reported a medical emergency when the flight was about to reach the destination. “It was very tragic. Our captain had declared a medical emergency when the passenger fell ill and conveyed a message to the ground that he needed emergency treatment on arrival. So an ambulance was provided to immediately shift the passenger to a hospital.”
Singh said a doctor on board had tried to assist Faisal after he collapsed midair. “But he was in a critical condition. He was shifted to the ambulance on a stretcher and straight away rushed to a hospital. But unfortunately he passed away after reaching hospital,” he said, offering condolences to the family.
Faisal’s cousin in Sharjah, Abdul Samad, said Faisal had been diagnosed with a brain disease.
