Years 3, 4 and 5 are rounding off a wonderful second day at the Frank Chapman Centre with songs around the campfire. As a treat to commemorate and celebrate their last official day at HK School, following a gruelling Biology exam the Year 11 Form Tutors and TAs took the Year 11 form out for lunch. We had delicious food at Tappeto Lounge in Kidderminster and then we went axe-throwing at TimberJacks. There were some terrible throws at first, from both staff and pupils, but we had the venue to ourselves so had lots of throws, and most of us managed some sort of improvement, and a number of pupils managed to slice through an apple hanging on the target at the end. Finally, there was a tournament - who could score the most points in six throws - and our most improved pupil won a lovely TimberJacks t-shirt so she can wear it and remember her triumph. ... What a brilliant first day at the Frank Chapman Centre for Years 3, 4 and 5. Following unpacking, bed-making and a grand tour, the children enjoyed 'Challenge Course' activities, which included a blind-folded rope obstacle course and underground mining.
