Distance from the airport was reasonable. Check in was breeze. Room was cozy and clean. Main areas were spotless and while breakfast was the usual fair, the location was ideal and within walking distance to local eateries and the free trolley.

Parking with plenty of spaces were not tight. All employees we encountered inside and out were very nice and helpful when we had questions. We like to be on the highest floor and had a window view of the Trolley headquarters. We slept well during the two nights. We did hear a train as well as the trolley but it was not annoying and we sort of enjoyed the sounds. We love to get the bigger room so we have a couch. There were plenty of drawers and shelves, nice size TV; microwave and Frig; second sink, hair dryer, iron and board, soaps, and some shower supplies.
We were there because my hubby was having a surgery at TGH. This hotel paid for Uber for us and it went smoothly both ways. Hubby was given free ice cream when we got back from the Hospital. Even though the breakfast kitchen was closed there was plenty of food laid out. Breakfast sandwiches to be heated in the microwave they supplied, yogurts, apples, cereals, milk and two kinds of juice and wrapped muffins. they also have brown bags already made up. Hot coffee and teas. Plenty of seating. I did not see a list of restaurants that deliver nor did we ask because we brought our own food so we would not have to leave the hotel since I knew hubby would need plenty of sleep. I did bring some of my own flatware, dish soap and soup mugs to eat our prepared food with. We also bring some small garbage bags so do not have to leave trash in our room because we did not want to be disturbed while my hubby slept for a day.

DH and I were here two weeks ago for a brief "stay-cation" in Ybor City. This is the first time we've spent any amount of time here, and we had a great time.
The hotel itself is very convenient to walking around the Historic District.
We checked in via the app, and received the digital key. It was cool to be able to pick our room, too, and that's the one we received. We were able to check in by noon, which was great; we left our car in their parking lot ($12 parking) and set off on our adventure.
The room was spacious, maybe a bit dated, but nice enough.
Wi Fi (open) worked ok.
The hotel has a bar (we did not visit) plus breakfast (for an extra charge, we walked to a nearby Cuban bakery which was wonderful).
Our only glitch was there was a $20 charged added to our room, but, after about a week, they removed it.
I also thought it was a tad on the pricey side for a Monday night (over $200), but, hey, it was vacation!

This is a nice hotel. Clean. Very helpful staff. Shuttle to and from hospital but the shuttle does not start til 8am. However, Lyft is just a short ride to the hospital. The A/C-Heating was a bit noisy and that is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Be forewarned, this hotel is near the train tracks so you will hear the train come by at night. However, I think if you stay anywhere near downtown Tampa you will hear this train. If you love trains, you will see it too, if you have a room facing the tracks. It was worth it to me for the value, cleanliness and pleasant staff. One thing that ensured that I will stay there again is the fact that I was permitted to book 2 nights not knowing if I would need the 2nd night and cancel the 2nd night on that day without penalty. when I knew I did not need the second night. Anyone attending the Norman Parathyroid Ctr. or Clayman Thyroid Ctr. (now called the Thyroid and Parathyroid Institute) will know that if your evaluation deems surgery necessary then you will need a second night but if not, you will not require a second night but you don't know this until your evaluation unless you are a text book case so I really appreciated that flexibility that this hotel offered. I was quite pleased. I recommended this hotel to a friend who will be traveling to Tampa in a month and her husband is a train enthusiast.

This hotel was reasonably priced. It convenient to downtown as well as the ports. The hotel was right next to the free trolley. It was cheaper to leave our car parked there while we cruised than in the parking lot provided by the cruise ships and they had free shuttles to the ports. The continental breakfast was good as well. The pool was nice too. The hotel was very clean and our rooms were very clean and comfortable. All of the staff were friendly. We recommend this hotel

All in all our stay was fine. My only complaints is the LOUD, thumping music blasting from the club across the street that played until 3am on Saturday night. Luckily my children were exhausted from the day so it did not wake them up (they are heavy sleepers anyway). I see why they supply ear plugs in the bathroom. My room was facing that direction so there was no way of not hearing. I asked for a room change, but the hotel was sold out. The breakfast was good and changed up each day we were there. The shuttle is a nice feature as it will take to all the fun aspects of downtown. The staff was very nice and warming. The hotel is located adjacent to the main street in downtown so you can easily walk to that area. The free trolley picks up right in front of the hotel. We would stay again.

Super people. The number one at this place. Great People! Jessie, Ben, John, and everyone we met!
Great location (about two miles from downtown center). On a free trolley line that will take you there every 15 minutes. For us, Ybor City was “too young” as most pf the establishments were bars, cigars establishments (obviously), and tattoo salons. None of which interested us. However, a nice historic feel. Almost like if New Orleans or Key West went to a finishing school (but much smaller – just about six blocks).
The room was clean and crisp with white towels and bed linens.
We opted or the larger room with a sofa and kitchenette (small fridge and sink) to be able to spread out a bit.
Small pool was beautiful and in a private area. We tested the water quality and it met our standards for cholerine and cleanliness. No spa on site, but many nearby.
A full workout area is available, as well as a guest laundry. Snacks available in the lobby for a small fee. Free breakfast, coffee, and tea.
All in all, for the older set, we probably would have done better at the West Shore location (another Hampton Inn), as we went to dinner at the Ruth’s Chris near that property.
However, if you love history or are a hipster, you will love this property. We have nothing to complain about. We would return. Close enough to everything, super CLEAN, amazing people.
Thank you, Jessie, Ben, and John.

As someone whose plans included the Historic Ybor City Food Walking Tour and the legendary Columbia Restaurant, the Hampton Inn’s location at the gateway to Ybor City was perfect. And parking at the hotel’s front door made getting to other Tampa Bay venues easy. The hotel is newish, and the room was spacious and clean. The complimentary breakfast was of good quality. However, be forewarned: I purchased a bottle of water and a small oatmeal raisin bar at the front desk, and the price was $8. I did enjoy a great stay at the Hampton Inn in Ybor City.

Arriving early off a cruise ship, the front desk staff went above and beyond themselves tagging our bags so they could hold them while we set out to explore Ybor City. While answering phones, and dealing with other customers to answering all our questions to advise on restaurants..they were super. Hotel was quiet and very clean, definitely would book again if I needed.

Well there's Ybor Grocery which is about a mile north, which may or may not be within your walking interests. The hotel has a shuttle available, though it mainly seemed intended to get guests to/from the cruise ship terminals. You'd likely have to ask them if it would provide transport to the store, and wait while you were inside, etc. Finally, the hotel has a small pantry area to the left of the front desk, which has a few types of chilled beer & wine for purchase. We ended up just buying from there and sitting out by the pool to relax.
