A lot to experience for a very reasonable price. Unlike New England Fairs it is not only less expensive but there is a lot more included in the admission price. A lot of free music and exhibits. Also many free shows. This fair is huge but very wide roads so the crowds were not elbow to elbow. There are some places that are shaded but you should be prepared for potentially hot weather even for this early time of the year. Many indoor barns and exhibits so go inside to cool off. We found enough to keep busy and it would take a really long day or two to see everything. Great value for the money. We did not partake of the rides but they are an upgrade from the typical fair and looks to be many choices for the young to the older teen or adult. Access to animals was good but look at the schedule to insure those you are interested in are there. Great day for the whole family.

Coming from MN there a lot for a fair to live up to. All entertainment is included in the very reasonable admission price. Circus Hollywood was fun and pig races are cute. Street layout is confusing even with map. Lots of rides. Food choices were repetative and uncreative.

Being Canadian, this eas or first State Fair. Welcoming us right inside the gate is Cracker Country, an informative interactive area, featuring people in period costume, doing what they did a hundred plus years ago. Demos of woodworking, candle making, rope making, printing press operations, soap making, pottery, basket weaving. All so interesting and educational. The fair ground takes up a lot of space so be prepared for lots of walking. There are many live shows and atteactions- bird, dog, sea lions, pigs, horse pull.
Huge midway and more than enough food concessions. Water is $3 mostly but found 2 places selling for $2. Stay hydrated. Typical fair food with typical fair prices. Great day out. Parking is free and senior tickets on line $9.

This was our first time visiting this state fair. It was a small fair compared to the Ohio State Fair. We visited on a Saturday and enjoyed our day there. The maps were confusing. Cracker country was very quaint and informative. We loved to see all of the different things practiced back in the day.
The biggest shock was the cows delivering their babies that was on display in another area of the fairgrounds. I grew up on a farm but was shocked that they had these cows bred to deliver their babies during different days of the fair.
People were on bleachers and lined up to see the deliveries. I am sure that many of those kids got an education. Kudos to the farmers
The petting zoo was nice too.
We enjoyed the Ag building that had various Ag industries represented.
We ate a very dried soft pretzel there and found sweet teas for a $1 per glass. (Bargain at the fair)

The fair we attended on Saturday, February 8th was not well organized. It took over an hour to get into the fairgrounds parking lot and we took a shuttle from our hotel 5 miles away! There was only one person collecting money for the entrance fee. The food vendors overcharged for food and the Philly steak sandwiches we had were terrible. Did have a good pretzel and the young man in the booth was very nice. Garbage was overflowing in the garbage cans. The bathrooms were filthy.

It has been 27 years that we have visited the fair. Over the years we have probably been on a different day of the fair so have seen a lot of different things. So many types of food and lots of fun things to do. Things have changed but that just makes each year fun to go. We have started getting in on the $5 tickets when they come out but even if you pay full price it's a great deal. There is plenty of parking. They started checking bags a few years ago but the process is pretty seamless. This year they didn't open until 11 and the midway opened at 1. There were two lines to get in and it depended on whether you already had tickets. Also after 6 pm kids 17 and under had to have an adult(21 or older) with them and 1 adult could only supervise 4 kids. Don't know how it worked out as we were gone by 6.

The Florida State Fair this year is a scam. The ticket prices are high, the food is horrible, and the costs for food are ridiculously expensive. I would not recommend it to anyone, especially those with more than two people. We were there as a family of 4—the tickets cost us over $100. We got a lemonade drink for $11.00, a cup of cubcurd for $14, a turkey leg for $20, a skew of 4 small pieces of beef for $20, and 4 donuts for $15.

Did the Florida State Fair yesterday. We're from the midwest so we wanted to see how ours compares to this one. Not as much agriculture displays but very interesting honey bee display. I've never seen so many food vendors....ever....LOL. The grounds were clean and it was nice to be able to use clean restrooms with flushing toilets. We're not amusement ride people but we walked over there to check it out so many games and rides for many. It was a fun day.

First time at the Florida fair and it had every element we were looking for. Great entertainment from the daredevil show to the bizarre pogo stick guys. Huge midway and a plethora of heartburn food shacks. The only downside was a few really young disrespectful wanna be gangsta kids. In the next 2 weeks we’ve got the strawberry festival and the Pasco County fair before we start heading back to Canada.

We have been going here since 1994 and it has become a family tradition- first with the kids then just as a couple. There is lots to see and do and some things change year to year so you can never be bored going there. There is different types of entertainment to include Cracker Country as well as a midway of rides.
