Cook County Property Tax Bills Now Available Online To Local Residents

The second installment of taxes is due Dec. 30, but area residents can get a jump on making payments and can do so without a charge online.

GLENVIEW, IL — With the deadline for the next installment of property taxes soon due for area residents, local homeowners are now able to view their current bills, officials announced last week.

Cook County Second Installment property tax bills have been posted, county officials said. Local residents can view their property tax bills by clicking here and Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas said that by clicking on the county site, bills can be viewed and paid with no further surcharge.

The deadline to pay the installment for property taxes is Dec. 30.

“My office has finally received the figures to print 1.8 million property tax bills,” Pappas said in a news release. “We have posted the bills online to accommodate homeowners impacted by the delay.”

Paper bills should arrive in residents’ mailboxes by Dec. 1.

Residents can also download their tax bill and make a payment by visiting cookcountytreasurer.com and following these steps:

  • Select the blue box labeled “Pay Online for Free”
  • Enter the property’s address or Property Index Number (PIN)

There is no fee if residents pay online from their bank account. However, they can also print their bill and bring it to any Chase Bank location, including those outside Cook County. They can also pay at more than 100 community banks where you have an account or at the Treasurer’s Office.
