J. Paul Getty Museum (The Getty) Tours and Tickets

Sasha is the perfect guide for this tour, before her tour gigs she worked for years at the museum. They treat her like family and she knows all their secrets and all the works as well. She had a lot of new details for me about artists I knew and a range of intriguing stories on ones I didn’t know at all. She intersperses her conversation about the artists and their works, with stories about the friendships and relationships between the artists. She also has an architecture background, and that, along with her long history working at the Museum leads her to tell you all about the Getty Museum as you walk through stunning “cut-out” views the architect intended to frame the natural world beyond. Sasha clearly loves the museum and is so generous in how she shares with joy what it took her years to learn. She’s very light, easygoing and curious A lovely companion for a morning walk through a truly marvelous collection.

Ellen was so patient with our group and so much fun to talk to. It was such an amazing way to see the Getty!!! We learned so much and got to ask so many questions, would go to any museum with Ellen!

Very friendly tour guide, gave lots of info about the different spots. Bus was nice but a bit noisy. Without mic, guide was sometimes hard to understand. But in general a very good recommendable tour.

Great experience for 2 or more! Gets you around the museum in a great way and you experience all the main paintings and artefacts.

Ellen was a phenomenal guide - her knowledge of the Getty, the art and the relevant history is extraordinary. She has a lively passion for the art and was engaging with my two teenagers. She wove in fascinating facts, asked engaging questions, and even came armed with drumsticks to 'play' the marble tiles that form the exterior of the building. We left wising we'd had more time. Fabulous experience!

Menna was an excellent docent! My husband and I learned so much about the history of the Getty and famous works of art. This intimate tour is perfect for anyone visiting the Getty for the first time.
