BRANDON RUSSELL Obituary

Brandon Lee Russell, 34, of North Kansas City, passed away April 8, 2017. His life ended way too soon doing one of the things he loved most, running as he finished the Rock the Parkway Half-Marathon. He was born May 22, 1982, in Kansas City, Mo. Brandon graduated from St. Pius X High School and earned a Master's of Accountancy from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He was currently employed by Burns and McDonnell as a Contract Analyst, a job he truly loved. Brandon's first love was his fiance, Taryn and his second love was running. Brandon had a zest for life and was a best friend to everyone. Family and friends were very important to him. He also enjoyed reading and was a movie buff. Brandon was an avid sports fan, especially the Mizzou Tigers, Royals and Chiefs. Brandon was charismatic, witty, and his personality was contagious. Brandon was also extremely handsome, thus was the president and CEO of Handsome, Inc. Survivors include the love of his life, his fiance, Taryn Klein - Russell; father, Dr. Steven Lee Russell and wife Jennifer of North Kansas City, and mother, Patty (Beaubien) Russell and Tim Powell of Kansas City; three siblings, Dr. Evan Russell and wife Kelly, Lauren Russell, Katlyn Russell and fiance Seth Dains, all of Kansas City; paternal grandmother, Harriet Beth Russell; and many extended family members and close friends. A celebration of Brandon's life will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the football field at St. Pius X High School (https://www.facebook.com/events/1879702148978280/?ti=icl A formal blessing will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the blessing until 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Brandon "Flash" Russell Race Fund (https://www.gofundme.com/brandonflashrussell). The Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville has been entrusted with the final arrangements. www.meyersfuneralchapel.com Meyers Funeral Chapels, www.meyersfuneralchapel.com

Not sure what to say?

Brandon, as you know and watch the work still being done here n your absence, in your name, you must also see and feel the incredible love your friends and family have for you! We miss you every day and carry you in our hearts like a badge of courage to give us strength to live each day as we saw you live your life. Like warriors, never letting your memory die, we will continue spreading your zest for life and your compassion for other people. You are still the amazing man you were always remembered as being and your legacy of kindness and goodness to others continues to grow in the community you loved so much! You left behind a mass of good friends and family and we miss you. But by dying you gave us the insight of what true love and caring is all about. I'm sure you're happy in heaven with an abundance of past and new friends. We will continue to miss you and love you and do wonderful things through your Flash Dash Run, which we all know you are so proud of. You will never be forgotten in our hearts and in our lives.
From Mom, forever grateful for having you as my son. I Love You!

I miss You so much every day! Your smile, your wit, your compassion for others. It's knowing you are happy and fine and helping more people in ways you couldn't here on earth that keeps me going. You are the best son and perfect role model for Evan, Lauren and Katy. You live in the hearts of so many for ever. You will never be forgotten! Love, Mom

Steve, my friend, our medical advisor and a devoted admirer of you and your wonderful sons for so many years. I recall my daughter was Brandon's babysitter and it seems like not that long ago. Words cannot express my sadness for you and your family. May God bless and keep you and may the memory of Brandon forever give you reason to be happy and rejoice for the life he had.
